What I hate the most about this drama is... it gives the man to get angry to her for more than 5 eps, but for her only 2 eps ☹ He's not only canceled their engagement ceremony, but also embarrassed her, throwing her self design ring to the pool... I just hope at least gives her equal episodes for her to defend her pride

I have watch this whole drama and I love it. I’ve it many many times. I cry every time, I always wanted somebody to love me like he loves her from his heart. That’s one thing in life I missed, and I’m sorry it didn’t happen for me!
Loved the character Gao Jie, did not love the male lead with her, he was not at her level. He was written I guess to be considered charming and handsome but he came across as arrogant and self-serving. There was nothing he did at the end to make up for all the humiliation from the wedding or the fact he never stood up for her really with Hui Hui or his cousin. How many times could he say 'sorry', and if pressed he didn't even know why he should be sorry. To top it off she lost the lottery in the daddy stakes because he too was a weak and cowardly ass. I mean this poort female lead just literally got screwed over all the way round. The only shining notes in her life were grand-dad and her mom. I loved the end when her mom regained herself and the love and support and bond she and Gao Jie had. I loved when her granddad came to her at the competition to help her with her piece and the strong and loving bond they had. I loved when her mother told her ass wipe ex that she would order her own life and didn't need him around to do a thing for her. Those two, Gao Jie and her mom, had class, strength and resiliency. I wish Gao Jie had been allowed to start her own successful business with her mom and then see Yu Zhi later somewhere and be living her best life without him. I also wish the mother was able to grow and get success and recognition and meet a male love interest. I so wanted it to be in your face moments against Yu Zhi and Gao Hui, those two men were just awful to the so called women they loved. If this is your idea of love then please hate me, that might work better. :) And I didn't like that Hui Hui and WuXiaoci got off lightly in the end. They never really faced consequences for any of their actions and misdeeds and were forgiven. I was like WTH is that.
Yes. I think some of your points are valid. She did take a lot of rubbish but i do think as a cdrama she's more realistic. 1) Like when Hui mum blacklisted her at the start. She has power and Gao Jie doesn't. She didn't turn to her aunt for help as she wants to make it on her own. One thing is clear esp. when she became homeless she has no money - so the business idea gets thrown out the window 2) the father cheated with a more successful beautiful? woman. Whatever reason he cheated and abandoned his family. So mums final decision is the right one. 3) I do think the ML had a lot of insecurities and deeply rooted issues with the aunt. He couldn't see past the hate so when he found out there is a relation (she purposely hid from him and also gave his enemy the shares), he forgot all the good things they shared. Only remembers the aunt caused his mum to kill herself. 4)she is not so innocent. Had plenty of time to come clean. She saw how angry and hurt he was by the aunt but she also got greedy and scared maybe? ML has been written from the start to be here to take revenge and just happened to fall in love. But revenge was all he wanted! 5) revenge at the engagement party was brutal. I do agree he didn't make up for all the humiliation. BUT someone would argue is saving her life not good enough? Opening a business and supporting her for the rest of her life! - they could have maybe done a better job of the scene when he saved her life and pull our heart strings so we can feel more of his love.

Im not saying what he did is right but If she’s truthful from the beginning he wouldn’t have gone that far. People are quick to blame other without questioning themselves first. Would you want to married someone who lied to you? I guess this is the question we should ask before we judge. How would we feel if we find our soon to be husband/wife lied to us more than once?
In the beginning, I blamed him. By the wedding, I understood him. The way he acted wasn't right BUT she caused it. He gave her so many chances to be honest. She required he be honest with her yet she kept the truth from him, over and over and over. She honestly brought it on herself.
