Fun fact: the "distorted" vocals at the start of ruler of everything is actually done by singing into a megaphone
They do that live to replicate a similar sound, but it is pitched down in the original track
Weren't the choruses of Spring and a Storm through a megaphone?
i love ruler of everything but because of all the distortion I don't think it works live
@@jimmz6its does well you should litsen to it its pretty good
@@tweer64i think it was for the demos it may have but im unsure
Just a thing:
The music video for turn the lights off is about a kid going through puberty that's scared of growing up
The part where his arm turns into like a snake thing is his body going through changes
the part where the girl turns into the monster is him thinking sexual thoughts about her
And the part where he looks in the mirror and he turns into a monster is him not liking how he turned out
ooh!! that makes so much sense! i never even noticed that!
Has this been confirmed?
@@Nobody0333 ye, Tally Hall confirmed it
@@MothManJr Huh. Not doubting but just curious, do you have a link to where they said that?
well that just made the song a lot less cool 💀
You should definitely listen to miracle musical, it's the same people from tally hall and some songs like The Mind Electric, Murders, Dream Sweet in Sea Major are really good!
did they make variations on a cloud?
Dream Sweet in Sea Major is a fever dream
Gosh I love miracle musical
The Mind Electric would definately mess him up...
@@Anthnack Variations on a Cloud is from Miracle Musical, but it's just a single rather than being a part of their album.
Ruler of everything is actually about the existential dread of time, juno is the human high pitched voice while time is the deep one and those "weird" lyrics was a back and forth argument between the two, it's really great
they picked juno cuz its a girl name but refer to them as he, also juno is a reference to *the entire human race*
I love the fact that the pictures sometimes tune into the lyrics
You've gotta hear The Mind Electric, &, and Banana Man. Those are the pure essence of Tally Hall's musical horror, existentialism, and just oddity.
hol on . THE MIND ELECTRIC IS TALLY HALL???????????
@@herrdoktortenma_ Mhm, originally released as a solo demo by the rhythm guitarist and vocalist of the band, Joe Hawley. Later released in an album by Musical Miracle, which he led alongside the drummer, Ross Federman, and a major help to the group, Bora Koraca.

robb cantor, who was a part of tally hall, still does a lot of music! and it’s just as good; “I’m gonna win” has some of the actual lyrics of i think “&” as the chorus
im gonna win is repurposed from tally hall, it was an old song of theirs that also got rewritten by joe when they were still doing live shows. the original version is called “all of my friends”
@@shasta_le_bab tbh I like the original all of my friends better than I’m gonna win

WHERE IS MY BABYGIRL VARIATIONS ON A CLOUD ARGGH

how the hell can you react to tally hall for the first time and not listen to the song literally ENTITLED “WELCOME TO TALLY HALL”?????!!!?!?!?!?
if you do another stream listening to them, you should definitely do Welcome to Tally Hall, Never Meant to Know, Spring and Storm, and Cannibal

BANANA MAAAAN ITS SUCH A GOOD SONG HOLY HAKSNAJAJA4
god, i love the two wuv mv so much
Welcome to Tally Hall is one of my favourite Tally Hall songs to sing. It has flow.
Don’t forget Mucka Blucka ‼️
Bro if you really want fever dreams you cant ever understand then just tune into mucka blucka
Watching an fan animatic strangely made me understand the bidding better
Which one
What is it abiut
Ahh nice!! Tally Hall has been my comfort band since maybe freshman year of high school, they were one of the first bands I feel like I discovered "by myself" so it's always felt so personal. And the songs are bops!! I honestly find myself listening to a lot of like, earlier 2010ish music because for some reason I feel like there was a lot more being weird/having fun rather than trying to sound polished from the start. Like the Ruler of Everything music video, just playing around with the resources you have and putting it up on UA-cam for people to go "wtf?". I kind of miss that age of the internet, although the spirit is still around in some ways.
Man, if he thought the visuals in Ruler Of Everything were disturbing, he's lucky he didn't watch Banana Man
Do you see banana man?
Hopping over on the white hot sand
Here he come with some for me
tally hall is the most neurodivergent band you will ever find
As someone who is neurodivergent, yes

Everything that's on the album cover actually exists at the real Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum in Farmington Michigan.
I was vibing extra hard to the bidding and got up and started stomping my feet to it and my mom walked in to ask a question and i had to act like there was nothing wrong with me dancing in absolute silence since i had my earphones on, just thought i'd share
the background for marvin's marvelous mechanical museum is an actaul place with (as the name implies) all sorts of fully working vintage coin operated machines among other marvelous attractions
the name of the band is also a the name of a mall they hung out at
btw the meaning of ruler of everything is basically time roasting humanity for being stupid
The mechanical hands in ruler of everything are referring to the hands of a clock
Other good Tally Hall songs
&
Cannibal
Haiku
Welcome to Tally Hall
Never Meant to Know
Taken for a Ride
A Lady
Just Apathy
Spring and a Storm

And yes Miracle Musical is very awesome
Edit: Yes, Hidden in the Sand is a TikTok sound
Spring and a Storm and Never Meant to Know are bops
Got recommended this after watching the Will Wood reaction video, Tally Hall was so god damn underrated when I found em and I’m so glad to see them getting so much of recognition that they deserve
I love how that one part in Turn the Lights Off, he had to lower the audio it was so loud.
you should listen to bill wurtz, his best songs are: "La De Da De Da De Da De Day Oh", "And The Day Goes On", "Might Quit", "Here Comes The Sun", and "Fly Around"
My favorite is “in the airport terminal”
Please do a part two, for spring and a storm if for nothing else
So glad you listened to Tally Hall, Ruler of Everything is definitely one of my all time favourite songs
I feel Like Good Day, Greener, Welcome to Tally Hall, and Banana Man are more Fitting Choices for a Tally Hall Beginner (Ruler of Everything was also a Great Starting Song)
Yoooo I really love Hidden in the Sand and The Bidding, but my fave Tally Hall song has gotta be Misery Fell if you wanna check it out
Really cool to see your reaction! I love tally hall :) you should also listen to Spring and Storm, its my favorite and make me cry every time lol
i feel like the evolution of the music i listen to is like:
2020: Panic at the Disco, AJR, 21 Pilots (brought in by my sister),
2021: Omori, Jack Stauber, Cavetown, LoveJoy, Lemon Demon
2022: Mother Mother, Tally Hall, Happy Fits, LoveJoy, Lemon Demon
this all stemmed from Frozen 2 with into the unknown sung by Panic at the Disco during the credits XD how'd we get here lol
a lot of these songs have come and gone in cycles over and over again
You have such good music taste! (It's just like mine-)
All of these music fandoms are made of the same people lmao
Are we the same person???? That literally happened to me too
Hidden in the sand is such a nice, relaxing song. I like to listen to it in my car, sometimes, when I'm depressed. I could fall asleep to it in those moments.
F for the mice
idkhow pt 2 man, that was so great the first time and they've put out so much since
Ruler of Everything is full of metaphors and has some lines that we still don’t know the meaning of, but pretty much it’s about a conversation between man and time, and how, in the end, mechanical hands (time) dictate the universe and eventually lead to it’s demise, if it wasn’t obvious already it was written during an existential crisis.
And it makes me have an existential crisis every time I listen to it despite it being one of my favorite songs.
Tally hall is one of my absolute favorite bands, I love Fate of the Stars in the good & evil album! It is a longer song, but after you listen to it over 200 times, it honestly doesn’t feel that long haha
Ive been waiting for this one!!:D
I find Hidden In The Sand to be calming and relaxing
no way he started with turn the lights off 😭
great video!! I love Tally Hall so I was super happy when i saw this video existed! :)

I WAS WAITING FOR THIS
Tally hall is one of my top 3 favorite bands that i cant choose from. They would be my favorite if they did another album or had more music under that name to have them beat out those other two bands. They are a VERY special band regardless of controversies. I have to admit, when i heard all of these songs i had this wave of nostalgic overtones like i had heard it before, long ago as a very young child where i was too young to remember what i was listening to when getting my mind blown. It has a timeless sound, and it isnt possible i heard it as a kid. I was born in the 90s. And NO theyre on hiatus. First song i heard was turn the lights off which was on a staticing radio. Shazam couldnt make it out. Remembering hearing it in my first car driving back home from my high school soccer game and connecting the dots 6 years later was jarring when i had my hair blown back by the bidding.
The thing about the hidden in the sand music video i really love is the animation. It is so smooth and stylized! AND IT WAS FROM 13 YEARS AGO?!?
I’ve heard Hidden In the Sand, The Bidding, and Ruler of Everything on TikTok so if you recognize them that might be why.
“ I’m glad it didn’t stick with that “

I think he could have appreciated the songs more if the visuals weren’t there since he got distracted by them
PLEASE do a part two
Thank you for listening to tally hall!
You NEED to listen to Hawaii Pt 2 by Miracle Musical; it's the same people as Tally Hall
We got another one.
my dude you have done good also for people who dont know ruler of everything is a song about time
Im sure others are saying this but the songs are intentionally laid out to be listened in album order. Might be worth listening to the albums as a whole.
thanks british matpat very cool
I’ll say it once I’ll say it a thousand times definitely check out autoheart as well. Banger songs such as I know that he loves me, lent, and hungover in the city of dust.
“Turn the lights off” is about puberty and that shit😭😔
WE LOVE INFORMING THE PEOPLE 🔥🔥🔥
if you do more you should do welcome to tally hall and some miracle musical !!!
I love Don't hug me I'm scared and Tally Hall. You are a cultured man! You should listen to Miracle Musical by one of tally Hall's members! Please check it out. You will not regret it.🙏
was waiting for Banana Man at the end and a very much confused reaction
Im pretty sure the guys eating everything are time and once everything has gone they just move to a new world
You NEED to react to miracle musical which was also created by tally hall
You should listin to Tom waits, mostly his song "underground" aka that one song from robots, he also has some other good stuff and a generally unique voice
I'd absolutely love to see you react to miracle musical too, :)
if you do a part 2 i would suggest listening to good day banana man and welcome to tally hall
Ruler of everything is about time
I love how at the start bro thought tally hall had a single style clearly never heard of fobloo
Please listen to miracle musical! Its such an interesting album and i love it so much
Watching you watch the last one was so funny as a tool fan 😂😂
Edit: its also supposed to be like deified time, kinda a god, but its hard to understand to be honest
Have mat listen to Hawaii Part:II?
Personally, I always got a more melancholy/bitter-sweet mood from Hidden in the Sand.
I hope you react to miracle musicale one day. A majority of the tally hall guys were involved in making it. I would literally die if you did.
Hidden in the sand is how I found TallyHall lol
3:08 the dj fly is playing Good & Evil lol
YESSSS Now see Miracle musical!!! Well atleast after seeing more Tally Hall like Spring and the Storm and Banana Man, and... well, '&'. Also you have issues with audio leveling it seems, and you turn down your youtube video instead, why not your streaming softwares audio output? So you can hear it when it's low? Sorry I just was noticing that lol
in hidden in the sand i was also sad because it reminded me of the titanic
DUDE you gotta listen too Dream Sweet In Sea Major !!!!
Could you mayve listen to hawaii: part II or ride the cyclone? They're really good musicals. The mind electric, dream sweet in sea major, space age bachelor man, and the ballad of jane doe are songs i highly recommend
please listen to &
"&" is a great song and very much like the first one you listened to
I mean... your interpretation of Ruler Of Everything was horrible, but this was an enjoyable watch, wish to have known about ya twitch earlier.
i dont think it was that bad! he got the gist that time is the ruler of everything, which is basically the main idea of the song.
Ruler of everything is about T I M E.
Timetimetimetimetimetime

How is it I know all these songs but didnt know who sang them.
in general Tally Hall are the chaotic neutral of bands, you could get Ruler Of Everything one time and Banana Man the next, not to mention they were masters at making catchy sounds, so many of their songs, The Bidding and Ruler Of Everything became popular on TikTok too, I'm assuming that's where you heard a good chunk of them.
@@RedMadMichael I actually have Hidden in the Sand and Turning the lights off in my spotify and ive seen the others not from tiktok but from animations.
