Considering the fact that Drum & Bass has recently become just a mainstream dancefloor genre, that The Beginning remix is actually pretty sick. The other thing I highly disagree with is the Mistakes Perry Wayne remix. That thing is probably the only listenable Perry Wayne track in his catalog and is at LEAST a 6 or 6.5.
The case with LOST is that by their core they're a Deep Dub duo, if you look at their earlier A/B on the label. What I feel happened on 'Drop Kick EP' is that for some reason either they or the label (which I wouldn't doubt for a second) found it fitting to dabble more in the Brostep-esque sound, because it would be a safer option than go full Deep Dub on a Riddim label. I can personally sense the reluctance to do the songs they did just listening to them, cause some of the ideas don't even sound serious or with no intent to sound good.

yeah, this is why i completely abandoned the dubstep scene back in 2018. disciple used to be so cool, with some iconic names and absolute bangers, but after a while every single artist started to mesh into each other and all sound the same. and knowing some of the artists and what they were capable of (especially virtual riot) it was incredibly upsetting to see them so creatively stifled. and all the fun, whimsy, and general party vibe of dubstep had been sucked dry, trying to take itself way too seriously, copy and pasting the whole metal scene, all because of headbanger culture. although it is a more complex cultural movement, i blame Disciple for the grand "its not a phase, mom!!" shift of dubstep. drum fills on every 4 bars, noise bass, the same out of time rhythm everywhere, not an ounce of melody. its just metal but without the showmanship. at least now, a lot of artists are realising this, and working on fixing this, with things like colour bass, hyper[insert genre], and the subtle comeback of complextro!
Also for you, PAIN previously known as Frosti (i didn't really have much of Frosti old discography, but you can check the remix of Control Freak - Hold Me Down
Juju Man is amazing and I don't understand anyone who says it's "badly mixed" or "unprofessional", if this old school approach is bad then I don't know which is good
I feel that most of the hate from Call Back is from its mixing. The mixing is mega flawed with the machine gun basses being wayyyyy too quiet compared to everything else. Everything else about it from the sounds to the ideas are super interesting and the idea overall was solid. It's not my least favourite in RTR2 but I can't put it in my top 10
Why would you cut the sub from all these??? It completely invalidates the criticisms - lots of songs sound whack or downright shit if you remove the sub
If Part 3 might be out,please include YOKED's Fun in the Sun EP. It sounded rough and slightly boring,especially the suspicious video cover for all his songs
I think people just dont get the bukez finezt sound. Dumb shit ep's approach was cut clean with intentional grit for the era it was imitating. and yeah maybe the stuttery-ness is a fair turn off but that's definitely what 2012 dubstep did on the regular.
Call Back and Doinks are literally in my top 3 of both Vol. 1 and 2 of the RT Reinforcements installments. Really dont understand the hate towards these 2 tracks. Same with BAINBRIDGE's Genesis EP, for me this EP is his best work (along with Sorcery Syndicate). Also I agree with the LOST EP, garbage.

RIP to the audio but the Kozmoz EP was WAY overhated. Personally, I really enjoy that all the songs sound similar, for the same reason that people like Marauda’s Heave. It feels like a mini concept album, where the common BPM and key make the whole EP very listenable straight through. Also, if any of these songs had dropped as singles on DRT, I guarantee you that they would’ve popped off.
I dont find Gargoyles to be hated tbh, even most ranking videos have the song at like 5th place. A good example would be Old School by MVRDA & Modestep, which already appeared in part 1
