  • Try this fun math challenge involving areas of circles and squares. These questions are great exercise for the brain and they show up on a bunch of standardized tests. Good luck and ask any questions if you have them!

    It's easy. the radius of the circle is equal to half the length of an edge of the square which is 8/2 = 4. Now, the area of circle is pi(r)^2 = pi*(4)^2 = 50.26 units^2. Now the area in pink is 64 - 50.26 = 13.75 units^2

      Love this concise (and correct) explanation. If you didn't already, try the second question in it, just a bit more challenging than the first :).

      Take it on bluebook first then you can review on khan academy any concepts that feel weird
