It's easy. the radius of the circle is equal to half the length of an edge of the square which is 8/2 = 4. Now, the area of circle is pi(r)^2 = pi*(4)^2 = 50.26 units^2. Now the area in pink is 64 - 50.26 = 13.75 units^2
Love this concise (and correct) explanation. If you didn't already, try the second question in it, just a bit more challenging than the first :).

Take it on bluebook first then you can review on khan academy any concepts that feel weird
