Hi everyone! We have an update on the website maintenance happening this evening: The website will be under maintenance from 5PM CST today until about 3PM tomorrow. Keep in mind these are estimates, and updates may take more or less time. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. 😊
I cross stitched many years ago. I picked up quilting, and left cross stitch behind. Ya’ll are sucking me back in. I’m going to dig around in my basement for my supplies and inventory and start back up. 😍😂
Me three! Bought a long arm 2 yr ago - seriously into quilting but now I told my kids I am cheating on my quilting- it actually works out ok though because I can’t do more than a couple hours at my long arm and then I cross stitch! It’s slightly less expensive than quilting though
Love your videos! Kimberly is one of my favorite people...we are very much alike! I, too, would rather stay in my house. My husband is a coach, but I'm not a good coach's wife. I sit in the stands in a far corner with my earbuds in stitching or EPP. I stitch samplers, usually from Shakespeare's Peddler or Hands Across the Sea, on 40 or 46 count linen. Thanks Lilly for all the hard work you put into making the videos!
Love your floss tubes, Kimberly! I have appreciated all your tips. I am stitching Bringing Home the Tree along with you and love it! When I was a kid we had a big red station wagon and my dad always tied our tree on top to bring it home to decorate! I love Lori's quilt and cross stitch patterns. See you next week!💕
Good morning Kimberly and all FQS staff, I really appreciate seeing all the hard work on these beautiful completed cross stitch patterns and finishes. As always, thank you for all you do. 👍💗💜💕❤️💖🎊👏🎉 Take care and God Bless, Chris-Raleigh NC
Thank you! I really benefited from hearing what you do with your floss as you get near the end--particularly taking that last stitch and making sure it isn't loose. I just made that mistake yesterday and now I know how to prevent that!
Good luck to Kevin. My son is a programmer. I don’t understand the process but I certainly understand the problems! Kimberly... I love your Christmas alphabet done on the black. I would never have tried that, but it is amazing! I am nearly done with chalk full Boo, and will then start Merry! Again, wising Kevin smooth sailing!
Kimberly, just want to say, your video is AWESOME. I love your alphabet color choices. I also love Away We Go. I don't need any more Christmas pieces but I think I just might have to get those patterns. Thanks so much for sharing. Happy Creating 😊❤
Hi Kimberly! When I first heard you talk about the Halo Go Rechargeable Table Magnifier, I thought I’d give it a try. It took a few weeks to order it from FQS as it was usually sold out. I finally got one and what a difference it has made. I can stitch now on any count fabric, I can stitch at night, no more stitching headaches - I am so happy with the light and highly recommend it. Thank you for your videos!
Thank you for a great floss tube video. Can’t believe there have been 50 so far! I am working on Be Thankful by Country Cottage Needleworks as well as Snow Village. Also working on Hands on Design’s Rose Cottage and the Pumpkin Patch part of Autumn Skies. Thank you for all the inspiration. Good luck to Kevin and his team on the conversion. I have a little bit of experience of doing a conversion and can appreciate the amount of planning and work this entails.
Thanks for another good video. As a quilter who is doing more cross stitch at the moment, I’m so pleased that the cross stitch side of the business is going. I’d be purchasing so much from you if postage wasn’t so expensive to Australia. Another very popular designer is Plum Street samplers. I’m not sure if you have shown her work before.
I am full on Christmas stitching...right now I am stitching Merry String by Lizzie Kate & I'll be stitching Christmas Rules next! Have a great week! Kimberly btw your stitching is beautiful!
Kimberly, I LOVE how the Christmas Alphabet looks on black and your progression is outstanding! One of my favorite designers is With Thy Needle & Thread - Brenda Gervais. Thanks for bringing great content for us all to learn from. :-)
Good luck with your new website. I'm stitching All Bundled Up by Brenda Gervais, which is soo cute. I love to watch your videos, thanks for doing them.
I’m looking forward to seeing the changes to the website. I’m really hoping that the cross stitch stuff will be easier to get to. But on the other hand, I haven’t been able to order Bringing Home the Tree yet because it’s been down for maintenanc each time I’ve checked! First world problem I know and not a complaint! Looking forward to the changes.
FYI - I've been stitching my Bringing Home the Tree on the white silver sparkles 14-ct, and the glitter is not shedding off. Just FYI for those who were put off by the glitter. :)
I just received the Plum Street Samplers Autumn Hill chart that I ordered from you and I couldn't wait to start it. I LOVE poppies and I love a lot of Plumb Street Sampler patterns. I know it's almost Christmas but I had to do those poppies!
Not sure if the question about white referred to floss I have always had problems with how it looks so I have been railroading and yes I think it looks better! On long rows with dmc floss I cross every 10 stitches because I have to count it too many times then when I cross back you just skip the one back still looks nice🧐 I really love Lori Holts charts we’ll all of her fabric everything she does I also love primitive designs 😉 I love the kitted projects and Priscillas and Chelsea’s thread packs😘and looking forward to bloomtopia 🥰
Thank you for the inspiration and motivation! Can you please bring Priscilla and Chelsea back to film tutorials on fabric covered buttons and bows?!?! Please 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’ve been trying and failing way too many times!
You talk about the difficulty you have with stitching on 16 and 18 count. What is the difference in the 16 and 18 count Aida and the 25 or higher count fabrics that you have stitched on. Are they easier that the 16 and 18 count? Are the holes more obvious? I am new back to cross stitch after 30 plus years and want to become more informed with the cross stitch products that are available today.
Hi! thanks for such a great tutorial. As always great. being a new cross stitcher, I cut my fabric but the fold runs down the left side in about 4 inches. Should I iron this to get rid of the fold? Suggestions please.
Always enjoy the tips. I learn something new every week. I’m interested in the Pat Carson needles but notice they are only sold in large packs and are pricey. Are they available in smaller packs? Thanks.
You have some beautiful Christmas finishes Kimberly! I really love your PS Christmas Alphabet on the chalkboard black and your color conversions. I have so many projects going on, but I think I will go ahead and dive into the #fqschristmasalphabet fun this week anyway! I hope the website goes smoothly. I can imagine how stressful that could be. Your customers understand though!
Stitching Adjust Your Sails by Little Dove Designs right now. I have her Holly Jolly Christmas waiting in the wings. Then I hope to have time to finish Brenda Gervais', Spring Fling.
Hello Stephanie! Kimberly found the clip frames at Hobby Lobby. Here is the link to the frames: www.hobbylobby.com/Home-Decor-Frames/Frames-Photo-Albums/Picture-Frames/Whitewash-Mini-Board-Clip-Frame---3-x-3/p/80911614
Happy 50th episode. I love that you sub colors in so many patterns. I always do and there's a great site that gives similar color lists when you don't own all the DMC skeins. www.codyhoover.com/floss-color-tool/ I also stitch the perimeter of houses first then fill in. I happened to be stitching a house from a designer I love now, @StoneStreetStitchworks on IG, when you showed the gingerbread house piece you're working on. Check her out. Her patterns are so fast and fun. I'll tag you on IG on her turkey I finished yesterday.
I couldn’t catch the live stream, so I just finished watching it! Thanks a lot for all the inspiration, Kimberly! Denise, Lily, all the staff make such an amazing job!! Love all the finishes and I’m specially thankful for your eagerness to help us in this beautiful hobby. Right now I’m subscribe to three of your clubs: Chalk full, Snow Village, and Floss Fix, and I just can’t thank you enough for making this available to me that I live in Mexico, your shipping rates are so affordable, even though it takes forever for the packages to arrive (it doesn’t, only three weeks); I’m always excited to receive them! My mailman and I are now besties 🤣😉 You have shown several times and said again and again that we can use a regular frame to put our finish projects on, but honestly I don’t have an idea how to do it, would you mind making a tutorial on how to frame your cross stitch, PLEASE? Thank you 😘😘😘
I was stitching on some ornaments and chalkfull till I pinched a nerve in my neck and shoulder. Sad to say I had to stop all stitching for a few days , hope to get going again because I have such a long list of stitching for christmas to do .
Hey Kimberly check out Brenda and the Serial Starter #5 ua-cam.com/video/2X4ea-3XvwM/v-deo.html at approx. 20min37sec. She shows how she removes a thread without needing to take it off the floss holder. Brilliant!!! I'm going to try it. What a time saver!!!
I feel compelled to help you think of it this way come up on your left lower corner go over and down through the upper right corner come up through the lower right hole now using your needle slip it through the the threads so now they have split the threads apart just like the ties or the wood part on each side of a railroad then go into the upper left hole and you have essentially split the rails it really does keep them flatter😉 I hope it helps you🥰. I have stitched for years and I like it😉

I did the same thing Laura V. Now I cross stitch at night and quilt during the day.

Thanks for the shoutout again this week! Yes, an Aggie fan for life (though I grew up in a family full of Longhorns)

I agree with Kimberley about Lori’s gift tag paper quality...excellent quality card stock!

Love the new thread arrangement.
I am stitching on Brookes books wizard of oz patterns real soon. Love the way the pattern looks.
Happy 50th
I love the red jar!
DMC Etoile floss is awesome. The perfect amount of sparkle and its much easier to work with than Krenik.

I'm stitching The Christmas House Trio from Waxing Moon Designs!
i tried to order the floss but you were out. I ordered everything else. When will it be back in stock?
How about using red beads on the wreath instead of french knots.
I have been thinking about this as well. Especially using beads on the snowmen in Snow Village.

Wish the camera came in from the left so we see more while stitching.
Yeah, I have a question on railroading..... what does it look like? The back of your hand looked great, but I couldn’t see the stitching whatsoever.
Hello RemiLeen! Kimberly shows how to railroad in yesterday's live stream. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/yB1eQMS4qCc/v-deo.html
Still working on Chicken Joy..lol. if I dont go blind first
Just started watching and unfortunately while showing how to do the Railroading stitch ,you hand blocked the whole process.
But other wise nice work.
Love 💕 the weekly floss tubes !!!!!

Celita search the flosstube channel - they did a specific video on how to railroad. It will help!
Thank you so much Ladies, this is a great help.
I am so loving flosstube 👍
