Hey Dan, Hope your Memorial Day Weekend was good and you were able to get out and do some exploring? I know you guys had a bunch of rain over the weekend and was needing to find a new place to bring my machine to. This place looks like it. Is there lots of water & mud still? I went to Hog Waller over the weekend and was hugely disappointed. Everything had dried up and areas that had water 4' deep were dry as a bone. It was one big dust bowl. I spent more time riding around searching for mud it was boring as shit. And when I did find mud it was nothing worth a challenge. Quite the difference from when you were out there last. Let me know if your going to head that way and I will meet you guys there.
Yeah I've been to Hog Waller a couple of times since I got my Argo back and it's been disappointing to say the least. I have yet to find anything that will challenge the Adair tracks
Thanks. Yes that answered some questions. Where are the inner and outer bearings and do they have grease fittings? How many chains and sprockets are on it? How difficult is it to tighten/adjust the chains? How long does the chains/drivetrain last?
Inner bearings are in the frame, outer bearings run through the frame and through the plastic body, Bearings are double sealed and all bearing have a grease fitting. All the wheels have a hole you can fit the grease fitting through to grease bearing without removing the wheels. These machine rarely leak water.
Now that looks like a lot of fun. Had many ATVs but never owned an Argo. Is there a lot of maintenance and up keep on them? What kind of engines do they have? I'm in south louisiana where there's plenty swamp land around.
Hey if you live there you have to run an Argo. And I would HIGHLY recommend the Adair Pro Series 14.5" wide tracks. You will be absolutely amazed at where you can go that other ATVs & SXS can only think of going. If you get one I would buy one that is an HD model with the hood fan. Maintenance is greasing the bearings keeping the chains lubed with a good chain lube and tire pressure etc. I will make sure I grease my bearings inner and outer every other run. Depending on the conditions I was running in. There is always some maintenance to anything. It's not as bad as some have made it out to be. I work on my machine and have swapped all the bearings and axels for HD axels & bearings etc. with no problem. You will be hooked once you drive one of these. Florida Fish & Wildlife runs the XTIs down in the Everglades with tracks. They run through everything down there with no problems and it doesn't damage the environment. Hope that helps!
