Beautiful work! If used on a standard 8 ft. ceiling would you use the same blocking layers or would this be adjusted by eliminating one of the blocking?
Honestly it will not give you same highend results on angled wall I have seen it in friends homes and it looks horrible . This kind of ceiling looks good on square and rectengle shaped rooms/ceilings
Anyone considering this type of ceiling boxing PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE rub down all the mouldings primer before putting in place. Your back and neck will love you for it. That way only nail holes to fill in. Plus use glue and less nails. This guy has trigger finger and if using MDF anytime you fire a nail into it it puffs out around the nail hole and is a bitch to hide. Guaranteed you will do a two or three goes around filling in and sanding to hide all nail holes. Not so with finger jointed pine though it works much better than the dreaded MDF and is a little lighter in weight but has the ability to show warping and horrible grain lines when painted. As of November 23 2019 the costing for me to do a room 14'x22' in a plain 9 box section ceiling that looks like the OXO game board is coming close to $600 Canadian that's using dimensional 1x6 and 1x8 boards 14' long and packing to lower the boards more than the 1inch so internal trim moulding will fit. Finally a wall to ceiling crown moulding. It's tough work but the results are worth it plus it puts great resale value on your home. Good luck everyone hope this info helps a guy out.
them revels are a painters nightmare. Exactly how are they supposed to caulk in that second molding groove? I paint for a living I would be cursing you guys and complaining to the site manager
Absolutely love the word but dam those light fixtures are hidious . Should have used led recessed lights in each block to give that modern highend look. Raised light fixtures on these kind of ceilings don’t go together . Anyways outstanding work .

10:02 hvac vent covered? was this uncovered when done?
Looks amazing. Feel sorry for whomever has to fill and sand all those nail holes. 😂
Would the added weight affect the ceiling in any way? I know it was nailed into the beams, but still seems like a lot of weight.
How much crown moulding you want?
Yes.
Nice
What would you do if your ceiling was not rectangle or square? I have one wall that is on the diagonal and wondered if I could still do this.
yes YOU CAN .. measure everything before you start .. make sure when measuring use a square a

For the first 5 minutes I hadn't a clue what he was talking about
you're looking at the wrong camera a lot. if it's for artistic reasons, stop.
You can buy coffered ceiling panels that would work ...way less work
