Used it since my college days when booting from cd/dvd.. usb option wasn't there. Saw the video and wanted to see how this tutorial goes about and props to you. You made it clear and no bs over the top non related stuff. Showed how and what . Good video. And the guy who said doesn't work on win 11 clearly doesn't know what Hiren is capable of. @@jaynepal6041 If you use the "I forgot my password" on the login page, and do it the official Microsoft way, it will probably delete your data. If you do it this way, it shouldn't. Since you can use any boot disk that can mount your windows 10 disk and then any program that can edit the SAM as shown here (I watched the video to be sure I wasn't misleading you) and then change the password(s) of the admin or any user - without affecting any user files. This is just essentially about as easy as it gets, and Hiren has been around forever, so as long as you get it from a reliable source (as directed) you should have no problem unless you have some *Really* Old/Strange hardware.. very unlikely.
Thanks you..I followed your instructions, but the forgotten password on my laptop is still there. Then I tried another menu from the security menu, namely "Windows Login Reset"". Then I reset all passwords from available User Accounts to "Blank". And it worked. Once again. Thanks you 🙏
Sorry my good man. You'll need to create that Hiren's Boot tool on another system that is working. Surely you have a friend or neighbor that would allow you to create this drive? I was able to use this to remove the PIN from my old Windows installation after I moved the SSD it was on to a different computer (which breaks the PIN, apparently). Microsoft's own worthless "solution", making a password reset disk, requires the disk to have been made _on_ the computer whose password you need to reset, which is just idiotic. So glad I found this video. Thanks a lot!
Thank you for the tutorial, this method worked for me. I tried to reset the password first, but it did not let me into the pc anyway - but leaving the password reset fields blank worked and there was no password request anymore. I managed to recover my old laptop and many old memories 💕

Our close relative left us in the same way,but trying this method, I cannot find the Start menu that consists of the correct programs etc, hence Security then Passwords cannot be opened.

I don't get the same boot menu, but even when I click on the USB device option, it just continues to restart like normally. It doesn't open to the Hirens windows screen 😭

REMINDER FOR THOSE WHOM IT DID NOT WORK: Look around the bios (press Del. key) and search for the feature called : Safe boot and TURN IT OFF. because it may block the usb from booting and not allowing the operation to work. goodluck

You dont have to login you will simply boot your laptop from the usb drive then new operating system will pop up but its not yours it comes with the usb

Hi, nice video but reset the password can also be done by hand or with other software. The great BootCD PE project that includes NTPWEdit is 2 years old now and it's not clear if it will continue. Also, even if you start BootCD PE, NTPWEdit is not necessarily compatible with Windows 11.
Do you think this will work on windows 11? I just did a clean install few days ago and it won't let me sign in. It just keep showing "the user's password must be changed before signing in" so I'm thinking if this would work.

Hello! I'm currently doing this process but I have one question. After you successfully reset your password etc, can you use your USB normally just by deleting the files inside of it? Or do you have to reformat it in a certain way?

You missed something,after you entered Hiren boot,you use cmd as administrator and use ths command "reg save hklm\sam c:\sam",then, you use NTPWedit.

Boot key can be different for you try repetitive pressing on restart one of the key > f8, f9, f10, f11, f12
