I think it works for all objects , anything comes near this sensor it works, not for only magnetic field. I does not know confirm but, I think it is used on automatic building door, metro rail, car etc.

In my Samsung galaxy j7 I detected the position of hall sensor by the code *#0*#. I simply took a small magnet and paste it in a simple flip cover so that it cover the hall sensor on closing it. In this way I have been using the flip cover to on and off the screen. In my Samsung galaxy A51 I am unable to do so . Can you please tell me sir, why I am unable to do so, though there are two hall sensors in this device.
