- Huge thanks to Sweetwater for sourcing me with these pedals: imp.i114863.ne...
Gibson is finally doing something with the Maestro Brand, I went into this a little apprehensive, I was honestly expecting these to be run of the mill safe pedals, but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised.

The spaghetti western on acid is strong in these devices.
these are great for the right person, love that they kept them old school :)
I am currently having my SG Systems (gibson) 100 watt guitar amp repaired, it has a built in Maestro phase shifter, a fuzz circuit and a huge spring tank in it... I love this stuff
Oh what a treasure that must be. I hope you do a video some day!
The makers of the Original Fuzz pedal and the most iconic Delay box in the world are back! Wow they both sound fantastic, I'm interested in the delay and Range master from Maestro.
Possibly my favorite demo from you. I loved watching you bond with the pedals and genuinely enjoy experimenting with the sounds.
I love that you've adopted Primitive as one of your demo riffs.
Love the "transistor drive" sound of the fuzz at low gain settings.
The classic setting reminds me of the "2" setting on my FZ1S, which is a really nasty twin filter. Thing's always been a sputtery mess on guitar, but my bass loves it.
I just got the delay last week but working 12hr shifts I haven't had time to even open it. Very cool review! That delay sounds really good! There's also a chorus, not a flanger but what everyone wants is a phaser!
Glad to see my advice working out for you!
“Wrong notes in time.”
That delay is actually the first thing I've head that gets close to the sound of my old RE-150 Space Echo (including the official Roland pedals).
Of course, my RE-150 barely works, the heads are almost worn through, it's missing some inessential but not completely cosmetic parts, and I'm making my loops out of 40 year old BASF lubricated broadcast tape that I didn't bother rebiasing for, so I'm not exactly getting the "calssic Spae Echo sound" but I'm amazed to hear a pedal that gets close to my specific Space Echo (other than the modulation, which just sounds like an LFO, nothing like the way a poorly maintained tape loop fluctuates).
I haven't been in the market for new pedals in quite a while but this one is pretty tempting to pick up once they start showing up used.
Dude, just fix your Space Echo;)
That fuzz set to "Classic" & it's 1966...
A truly primitive transistor distortion.
Cramps fans, take note.
I like this fuzz because it isnt a big muff, its kinda thin and In a gadda da vida sounding. Its different. I say thumbs up.
The classic mode sounds like a Maestro FuzzTone (3-transistor fuzz, a la ToneBender)! I have an EHX Satisfaction and it sounds very similar. Very cool and aggressive pedals that break through a mix easily.
Enjoyed this video of the Gibson pedals
Delay and Fuzz. Used different guitars and gave alot of different tones 👍
the mod setting on the delay sounds so good and pretty deep considering its straight out of the box. I would've expected something more subtle. I mean, it's awesome, I'm just surprised. Like them both sound and look-wise. idk if it's something I've never heard before but they look cool. And those stickers really are sharp looking
Really love your demo. Ive Just ordered the fuzz. I want smthg wild and gnarly. Tired of too smooth and wooly fuzzes disappearing in the mix. This fuzz seems to be thé end of my long quest ! Thank you so much for this brilliant demo.
Primal, raw and gnarly. That fuzz sound is going to cut through the mix baby! Great demo!
Good call on that delay pedal... Really lo-fi, old-school - yet lush.
That fuzzzzes sensitivity to your picking i reaally dig!
Great for some mellow verse fills and to then dig in for the chorus...
Ordered the Maestro Delay and Maestro Chorus today.. hope I get them before weekend. I love the old school vibe, look and sounds. And I'm a Gibson man. I couldn't resist.
I bought the chorus last week and it's definitely a keeper. I was tempted to pick up the delay too and now I am kind of wishing I did. Oh well, I guess it's time to flip a few pedals.
I'm not a fuzz guy at all but the Maestro - in moderation - sounds pretty good!! I really liked the modern setting. I'm leaning towards another pedal purchase!
I tried the fuzz this weekend and it’s pretty nice
Walked into guitar center the other day heard a guy jamming on one of those delay’s…only time I’ve ever walked over to someone and asked what pedal he was playing…it was a glorious beautiful tone sent from the gods. I’m gonna get one of those delays eventually
oooOOOooOOo the Maestro Fuzz is a remake of the one that Poison Ivy from the Cramps uses < 3
Yeah, that Maestro sticker is sick. It went straight on my fightstick.
The indicator light built into the logo looks incredible
This is sick! I love that they did this. Good for Gibson
Ryan, you have to pick up the Foxy Tone Box by Warm Audio! It has the best fuzz sound I've ever heard! It also has a switch to add octave up! This is a remake of the Foxx Tone Machine fuzz pedal from the early 1970s and the remake is spot on!
These are very cool, I wish you had the rest of them because I prefer your demoing to something far more staged.
Mr. Horse said, “no sir”; “I don’t like it”
"I don't know what I'm doing at this point" lol that about sums up me when I am trying to write a full song! 😅
The Fuzz and Delay together are fire
Great demo on the FZ-M ! Thanks much.
Also, just LOVE your Green Strat - which model is it ?
Player plus
I like what I heard, need a shootout/mix and match video with the Stoy pedals.
Finally decided to buy the Fuzz after your review, thanks! 👍🎸👍
Nissssssssssssssssssce 🍻
Best demo by far I've seen of these pedals!🏆
Win-win, Buy-buy, for sure... Thank you Ryan!
the combination of the fuzz and delay is perfect for psychodelic space deasert rock 22:36 36:09 41:33
I had the original Fuzz Tone when it was new. The sound is in the ballpark but the original had less than zero sustain in comparison. The modern setting is worth admission!
I thought this pedal would just be a no effort modern sounding clone. But it seems like a faithful recreation of the original maestro. I’m pretty sure if you put the tone knob at 3 o clock or higher and have the gain all the way up you could recreate the infamous guitar tone on “sympathy for the devil”.
The only fizz sound I’ve ever enjoyed is Satisfaction from the Stones and Led Zeppelin and that new Maestro sounds almost just like them. It might be my first fizz that I buy honestly. Maybe the delay as well cause I love the echoplex 😁
Wow that delay is incredible! Eat your heart out, rubberneck, there's a new analog delay in town
Those single notes sound almost like "The Grind" by House Of Girth! I think Ol' Mick needs this fuzz pedal!
Late to the party. Just received the FZ-M in a trade and really like it. Then I heard this demo of the Discoverer and it's got me gassing for an analog delay. I also really love the way the repeats degrade and "crumble" over time. Anyone know of any other analog delays that do the same thing but maybe have knobs for the modulation controls? Looked at the Deluxe Memory Man but doesn't seem to have the same signal degradation as this pedal.
Not a huge fan of the fuzz, but I'm always a fan of a cute little analog delay. The runaway repeats are very nice on this, and are reminiscent of Pink Floyd/Mars Volta in-between noise section.
What surprised me was the price. They're somewhat affordable for something having the Gibson name
I wonder how the echo is compared to a plugin echo? I get the impression that the analog box sounds much nicer. Would be so interesting to hear a shootout...
The fuzz sounds quite light to my ears in comparison to the 60's and 70's versions, that sounds much fuzzier.
Kudos for staying true to the Classic fuzz, but no thanks , too transistory. The Delay sounds wonderful. My short Delay is a Morely Electro-static. It has the cool analogue spaces too, but these are really well done. There must be gates, eq, etc between stages. Mighty be a wish list entry.
Please review the new line of pedals please they made more i would love to see it
I kind of dig the distortion with built in noise gate but not for 150
How the delivery guy read that label, I'll never know :P
If you ever want to get into Stoner Metal, you've absolutely got the pedals for it. That sounds fantastic.
One really wishes that modern/classic toggle was a second foot switch.
I love the delay, just sounds perfect for me. I wonder how it compares to the TC Electronic Gauss?
I bet it would do a bit better in front of a marshall style amp, especially on the edge of breakup.
This is a very good sounding delay.
2:46 LOL HIlarious.
I know he was complaining about the brightness of the fuzz, but he kept it on the bridge pickup, most likely with a maxxed tone knob
Just ordered the Maestro Fuzz as Guitarguitar just put them on sale for £69. After seeing this demo, I feel very good about my purchase.
it has drip, would be cool too hear with reverb
Nice
They sound good
Those are some sweet ass pedals🤖📡
Did Tony Iommi audition for Pink Floyd? Is that what I'm hearing?
The delay is actually great! But the fuzz is WEAK! I like bright fuzz but this was super thin and not fun at all. Returning it!
I wanted to get the delay, but once I was ready to commit they were already sold out :(
:-( bummer
My go to song for a classic fuzz sound. From 1966: ua-cam.com/video/grSme0p1BQ8/v-deo.html
The last Maestro pedal I had was a Maestro USS-1 back in the mid ornate 60s.
Maybe that should change...
+1. Opinion: sounds are OK but it's waaay too pricey for a pedal. EHX give you more and better for less cash.
I prefer q big muff
I really hope THESE items are less overpriced compared to the usual Gibson junk? Sound like real 60's shit!
The fuzz sounds terrible to my ears
That’s more of a distortion pedal than the fuzz
Nowhere near the original Maestro fuzz.
The big question. Where are they made?
Does it matter?
Chy-na
@@qwertymonsta Yes.It should.
Ryan are you going to start doing paid beards and mustash products demonstrations??🤣😂
If there’s an opportunity and I like the product why not?
That fuzz was terrible.
Wow! That fuzz is completely awful!
Boutique pedal prices, but made in PRC with child labor. Hard pass on Gibson going for the low hanging fruit by resurrecting a classic US brand name on a shiny retro box, with low quality/high margin MIC components.
