Also for information, as a police officer. We don’t work wrecks in parking lots. It’s private property. Both drivers have to exchange insurances and that’s it. But other than that. You don’t work any parking lot. :)
What department? Where I am from we handled them.
Technically, police aren't REQUIRED to take an accident report at all, unless one of the parties requests it.
Public street, private property makes no difference if someone requests police take a report.
Some insurance companies request it to help combat fraud. But a police report isn't MANDATORY unless certain circumstances are met. (A fender bender is not one)
This is MY jurisdiction mind you, others may vary, it just seems odd to ME.
@@greyshadow9498 well I’m in Texas. Idk where you’re at. But yes. No report is needed unless requested. But we do not do private property wrecks, or deer accidents. We tell them to print out the blue form on the TXDOT website

@@OnlyUseMeBIades in Italy we do not take accidents report on private properties. The drivers exchange insurance and call the company. In public street it's quite the same, if they want we make a report otherwise they excange data and go. In case of major accidents we have to make a report because there could also be criminal implications.
