Additionally if not for a ripped shoulder (which ended my career) I would have ended up against Abbot. It changes the mechanics of punching, there were certainly guys capable of generating more power before him, a couple vastly more potentially. He was the first to have full access to his full power. Definitely contributed to his short unspectacular career, it was too easy for everyone else to wrap up and glove up to equal the playing field or you know they could just take him down that almost always worked.

After watching this, I feel so bad for him and Don Frye and others from the the old school days. That fighting really took a toll on their bodies/brains . Tank was my favorite.....always.

He was just too big, agressive, had stamina, and was a world-class, Olympic-caliber wrestler.

I remember I bought the Ppv when I was like ten 😂. We used to order them and tape them on VHS. He fought a sumo looking guy who was 450 pounds and a practitioner in “the ancient Hawaiian art of bone breaking”. Me and my cousin thought that sounded as tough as could be and that the guy was going to kill Tank. Tank punched him until he was lying on his back stiff, with his arms and legs sticking straight out into the air like rigor mortis, and then did a gesture to mock the guys misfortune. We were shocked. The announcer said “Tank you took 450 pounds down like a buzz saw”, and Tank replied simply, “yeah, well, that’s what I am.”

I got to see the Beast live in my hometown. He fought Pat Miletich who was half the size and gave him a good match. Two legends in one night.
