Truly diabolical! My walking beam engine took over 50 years from a wreck to a presentable state...
Quite the combination machine. Heater, humidifier, noisemaker, oh and it also turns things.
😎, I attempted to run my Fleischmann stationary engine today only to find that the crank web had come loose , I remembered you saying to set it 90deg out from the eccentric did that and all good :)
I should like to second the statement by ricksizemore8102 & say to you Many thanks for the many hours of enjoyment you have given me. Your final comment set me wondering when if ever I have watched one of your engines cooling down after being run. I keep saying I must have done, then Have I? You really have got me on this one.
What i will say is that this is a fascinating little engine, possibly made out of scrap in say 1947. That is known as the Bulge year when the troops had come home & a lot of extra babies were born. I was born in 46, the year before so my early recollections were not of sweeties or toys. They were being allowed to ride on the back of the dray with the Milk Man & Going with the Men Ferreting. We moved to a small village outside Birmingham for the health of my big brother. So no one had anything, rich or poor. The only question being where did the builder get all the solder from?
Having got used to your high standard of builds, I am amazed that thing runs as well as it does! Looking forward to seeing how you repair those holes in the gland nut area. Please keep the videos coming! And thank you Mr. Appleton!
More to come!
Good detail. Great video.
Glad you liked it!
That went better than I expected, that's a lovely boiler . The diabolical monster didn't subdivide all over your workshop which is a relief , now on with the story . Great video 👍🇬🇧
Thank you {:-)))
Just goes to show how steam engines are forgiving of "Gomer" workmanship!
Troublesome where doesn't it leak?
At least the Flywheel doesn't leak }:-)))
Time to get out the JB Weld?
No, not on this one ...... }:-)))
Your funnel looks like one for a Tilley lamp.
That is good to know }:-)))
thanks for being silly
}:-)))
Is this little engine for sale?
Not that I am aware of . . .
Hi, I’m the owner of the engine, as of December 2023 this engine is not for sale
