Watch this lesson about five brilliant words that will take your English to the next level and you will be sorted. Stay to the end and you'll be chuffed because there's a bonus where you take part in a real life conversation that uses the five words that you've just learned. If you don't you'll be gutted. Hi I'm Steve. Let's do this. Our first word is ‘sorted’ . Let's get the pronunciation right. At the start it's ‘sor’ that's the ‘or’ sound. Lips forward, tongue is flat. ‘ or’ ‘sor’.
At the end it's ‘uh ‘that e is pronounced as a schwa so it's the little ‘uh’ sound, so it's … sorted sorted.
The word sorted means something's been done, it's been finished successfully. Now answer these questions , the words will appear here. Have you booked the tickets for the concert?
Have you fixed your car?
The next word is brilliant. Let's check we're saying it correctly. The strong part is at the beginning of this word… it's the ‘bruh’ sound try that.
Next is the word ‘I’ll’ ‘ ill ‘ doing that with your ‘brouh’ and you've got brill get a good R sound in there . ‘Brill’. At the end is that little schwa sound it takes the place of the ‘ah ‘so it becomes UNT and now we need to join the beginning of the word Brill to the end and we do that with a little ‘y’ sound so it's
Brill y unt, said more naturally brilliant brilliant, You try it don't forget that little yeah sound joins the two ends of the word together brilliant. This word is used when something is great it's amazing it's fantastic use it to answer these questions. How was your holiday?
are you learning Lots in this lesson
[Music]
the next word is cheers it's said with a long e sound so it looks like you're smiling cheers now you might know this word from when two people join their glasses together particularly an alcoholic drink cheers bought it's used all the time to take the place of the word thanks you'd use it like this cheers for coming to my party you try it
use it to answer this let me help you
your English is really good
next is a great word chuffed this word ends in an Ed but that's pronounced with the T sound so it's not Chop Ved it's chuffed with a chopped you try it chuffed
chuffed means to feel happy to feel proud to feel great inside I've passed my exams and I feel tough
use it to answer this question congratulations on your new job you must be feeling very happy
that is so good that is brilliant now is the word gutted just like chuffed this word ends in an e d but this time it's actually pronounced so you do pronounce that D the E becomes a schwa so it's got UD gutted you try gutted this means to be disappointed it's used when things go wrong we all have those days where nothing seems to go right and we feel gutted [Music] so you say it with feeling I'm gutted try and say it within motion with feeling I'm gutted
try it in this sentence I was gutted when someone crashed into my car
answer this question how did you feel when you lost your keys
now it's time for the bonus I told you about earlier we're going to have a real British conversation don't worry your words will all appear here and of course because it's a real British conversation it's going to be about the weather have you booked your tickets for your trip to London

this question related to Subordinate Clauses .
Sir please pay attention to the question,
the example is just to understand the question maybe example is not meaningful
Question:----)
In dependent clause
Has the meaning of "there" been changing?
like this sentence which is
As:-- There is my friend.
Here "THERE" is showing location or place If we write the same Sentence in dependent clause
As:- This is the time when "THERE" is my friend.
Does the meaning of THERE change to that of a dummy pronoun due to the presence of subordinate clause here?
If here "There "word changes to dummy, then it is only for this subordinate clause or it will happen in all subordinate clauses as well.
www.grammarly.com/blog/subordinate-clause/ this will explain it far better than I can here. all the best with your language learning.
😊👍
Cheers for the thumbs up 😁
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
have some in return ❣️❤️❣️ 😁
I have a little confuse.
We have two subordinate clauses
As:---
This is the time when THERE is 'a' book.
And
This is the time when THERE is 'my' book.
What are differences between both subordinate clauses.
Is only difference 'A' and 'MY' .
And
here the meaning of THERE will also change if It will change.
In which sentence word "THERE" is working as "Adverb of Place" and as "Dummy subject"
Thanks for your comment. This brilliant website explains this far better than I can here, please check it out … www.grammar-monster.com/glossary/subordinate_clause.htm
