  • I CAUGHT OVER 70 FISH IN THIS 2 DAY TRIP IN THE AMERICAN FALLS DAM! I only show the highlights of the two days and will be uploading more footage soon! It was an amazing experience to go back and fish this dam. I would definitely recommend if you ever find yourself in the area. I caught FIVE different species in this river, SNAKE RIVER, Rainbow Trout, Yellow Perch, Carp, Sucker Fish, and Small Mouth Bass.

A really good recipe for carpet is your flight out soak it in a saltwater brine for about 12 hours and then I like to marinated in garlic and brown sugar cut it into pieces on a wooden board after soaking it in that lay it out make it in a clay oven when you’re all done throw the fish away and eat the board

I’ve never caught a small trout down there. A great fishery for sure. Catching a sucker on a lure is so crazy to me.

My wife is from American Falls, and I love fishing there when we go see her family. It seems to get really mossy during the summer, but all other times of the year it is a fun place. Its too bad that they closed the access where you filmed this video. No more fishing in that spot, major bummer!!

In my country we don't shoot carp in the head, it's highly prized sport and food fish and law regulates its catching.

That’s crazy! Thanks for sharing that. In Idaho the population of carp and sucker fish is taking over the rivers and lakes. There’s more carp and sucker than there is any other fish and they’re endangering other fish and the waters. Not to mention they smell horrible. I don’t know what kind of carp you have in your country but these are Mirror Carp and all I know they’re good for is (topsoil)

America has so many great fresh water fishes that taste much better than Carp, they think Carp and Suck are garbage fish, I'm Asian, I'm fine with eating Carp and sucker.

@@Justin-zw1hxcarp was introduced to our waters by the Chinese that came in with the railroad. The eat the trout that are actually a game fish. These carp are disgusting. I guess some people eat them. I throw them on the bank or fill them so they bleed out after I throw it back.

I have the best luck catching the big trout using bass tactics. For example I will use a lipless crainbait like the Rapala Rippin Rap. Cast it out, let it sink for 5-10 seconds then retrive using a yo-yo trype retrieve. Ripping the lure then letting it fall. I don't usually catch many big trout there. Only 4-5 per day, but when they are all 4-8 lbs that is an awesome day! This last year really hurt the fish though. The river was almost sludge coming out of the damn for a couple of months. Not great for gamefish like trout.

Second week of september of last year, a guy caught a sturgeon that was hooked before and it got a rusted rod at the end ot the line, it was probably yours.

Marquez Fishing i have a question is the water at safe flow levels to take a boat out at this time? Right by the dam overflow ? Or is there a bunch of water rushing over the rocks from runnoff.
