This is one of my favourite games for the PS2. It's criminally underrated. The soundtrack is superb and the handling is years ahead of every other game of the era! Those who compare it to Gran Turismo 4 and say it's just a cheap copy-paste should give it a try. Enthusia has its own essence and feels like a totally different experience. I thank my parents for buying me this hidden gem.

I like the 90's Japanese city pop vibe in this game.
Actually interesting lineup, several cars that I've never seen in the Grand Turismo series, for example:

Ford Thunderbird
Mercedes G-wagen
Several Audi RS models
Don't forget the Chevy Astro lol

This game had so much potential, just needed a story mode.
The physics weren't bad, it was more realistic in regards to body roll etc... Playing on the controller wasn't that hard, a learning curve yes, but not impossible.
Game was overlooked. Too bad, since it had much superior driving model and sound design than GT4. Granted, it lacked the overall presentation of GT Mode and huge variety of tracks and cars, but the driving was super fun.

In my opinion, gt4 driving sucks very much, the cars feels light and the drifting is atrocious. How is this game driving compared to gt4?
I think the thing that kills this game's potential is the lack of licensed tracks. I mean GT4 didn't have a massive range of licensed tracks either, but more than this.
More tracks also would not have hurt, either, as in both music tracks AND actual courses. Actual adjustable settings for the parts of the car would also not have been a bad idea. More vehicles would have also been welcome.

Holy shit, the quality of the car models is insane for a PS2 game.

One of the best games I never played, also comes with a great variety of cars.
Lembro quando comprei meu PS2 e veio o disco do Enthusia original. Eu adorava tanto esse jogo. Cheguei numa fase até avançada no jogo porém depois começou a ficar um pouco difícil pra mim kkkk que saudade... Fora essa trilha sonora que é sensacional
Kk eu ficava pegando o polo como o primeiro carro e ficava mexendo ele na parte do tunning, n tinha a menor ideia do que eu estava fazendo, eu acho q a franquia forza se baseou no wheelspin desse jogo também

Well the soundtrack is even more repetitive than gran turismos. Rather than being about a minute before a repeat it's literally 15 seconds

The car models looks fantastic upscaled! A fair bit higher poly than GT3/GT4 by the looks of it (given it has far fewer cars and came out in 2005 I guess it should).
I ever beaten Enthusia. Man that game is critically underrated.

This game was the shit. Wonder why Konami didn't try making something like this again, this was a breakthrough at that time it came out. Maybe they keep it safe with yearly sports game releases and occasional Yugioh console games.
The diversity of the cars here somehow inspired the later Forza titles.
Except Konami made them sound accurate.

How did I never come across this game? The models look great, perhaps a little more detailed than GT4, and with some cool cars absent from GT, like the e30 M3. Would be pretty cool to race a land cruiser too.

The choices of cars are very interesting, from the BMW M1 to a Land Cruiser. It's very detailed too, actually better than the GT4. The colors is a bit dull and greyish though, I might play this.

Honestly, I kinda like ERP. Because, the suspension works so well in this game. But, the things that I don't like about this game, the tracks are only a few tracks and you can't slipstream your opponent.
The modelling surpasses the Gran Turismo 4 models. Take a look at the Mazda 787B for example, the wipers are actually modelled instead of being an image. (Although having an image let PD create that animation where the wipers moves when the car is going too fast)

This was better than Gran Turismo 4. Full stop. GT4 had dominant understeer everywhere. Enthusia modeled back-heavy cars and lift-off oversteer much, much better.

The Toyota GT-one is exactly the same as the one that you see in Gran Turismo 4 US. However this car with these stickers never existed, so did they just copy the model that is on GT4?
If you are talking about the Exxon stickers. I’m pretty sure they had to change it because esso wasn’t in the us or something. So they used Exxon instead. Please correct me if I’m wrong I’m not too sure about this
The only time they used the esso stickers for the GT One on US specs was in GT2
David Herrera that was because of a glitch wasn’t it? Like you could get the one with Exxon stickers but you where gifted the esso one as a prize car for the licenses. I’m not sure though

I have a few questions. 1. Why is this game ps2 exclusive if it was published by a third party? 2. No Lamborghini or Ferrari in this game? Ferrari is rarely in any PS2 games after 2002, while Lamborghini is only in games with illegal street racing as far as ik. 3. Why wasn't there a sequel?
The menu car selection cameras look very identical to TOCA Race Driver 2 as if they are plagiarizing Codemasters lol.
