Crispin Glover's Bizarre Replacement Caused This Rule

- This may be the ultimate actor switcheroo. So egregious was this swap that it resulted in not just a lawsuit against the producers, but new regulations from the Screen Actors Guild to prevent it from ever happening again. So what happened?
This is why it's now a standard clause in all contracts that the actor signs over the rights to their likeness for the purpose of reshoots and new content creation should the actor be unavailable for any reason. And not just for that project but all future projects in that franchise.
Sounds like a pretty bad union then
@@brycenm7614 nah, makes sense, or an actor would basically have the power to scuttle any franchise at a whim, which would give them enormous bargaining power.
@@yellowfolder yeah I agree it makes sense but still seems like the union made a bad push then folded
@@brycenm7614Here's something I had to learn the hard way about unions. They don't actually represent the people they say they're representing. At the end of the day they're going to cover their own liabilities and whatever company they're in bed with. It's a scam. Everyone goes around saying that they change legislation in favor of Crispin glover. When in actuality all they did was make it to where an actor can't sue a studio because they own the actors likeness for the project or projects in question. He won the lawsuit, but the SAG lobbies a bunch of California politicians to change the laws. The laws have always favored Hollywood and the studios.
@@yellowfolderthe actor is part of the product - reasonable bargaining should always be the actor’s right
Current A.I. deals say hello.
The writers and actors strikes were for pay deals, but the movie companies slipped in A.I. deals in the stipulations
Don’t forget he played in Friday the 13th the final chapter
Where"s the corkscrew?! 😂
Dead Fucc!
I would never have known he was re casted if I hadn't seen this video.😮
We computer generated likeness programs for Luke Skywalker, Grand Moff Tarquin, and Princess Lea. Does anyone know for a fact that actors or their relatives have been compensated.
I’m not sure about the others but Mark Hamill said he is ok with the portrayal of Luke through the technology
They would have to have their permission from their estates and Carrie’s daughter gave the okay and Mark was involved in those scenes, a franchise like Star Wars isn’t risking doing something that dumb and Dave Feloni loves the characters and actors so much that he wouldn’t disrespect them in that way
For some reason this guys name makes me hungry for fried food
I don't think maybe Steven Spielberg or who else? Robert Zemeckis thought that would be so much of a problem but crispin felt annoyed someone else taking his likeness! I guess that could be annoying if those were your likeness with imprints to would you be bothered? I see people getting mad about it and taking it to court and I see people maybe getting mad but just letting it go I think there was talk and arguments I thought I heard about how Crispin thought the ending was bad that the reward was the truck for Marty? There was probably more disagreements on set that led up to it I sense there was more further frustrations for crispin, George mcfly that led up to that but it was in the past before the imprints got used!
Yeah and NOW with the up and rising popularity of AI, now even easier to use people’s likeness 😞
Didnt they settle out of court? Lol he didnt win a lawsuit. They figured it'd be cheaper to skip court.
They really fucked up not recasting his character in episodes 2/3. I mean it really is hilarious and bad with what they do to his character. Hanging him upside down? Trying to make him look exactly like crispin? Re writing the entire plot to kill him off? Lame as fuck. Wonder what the movies would have been like if they weren’t so cheap with crispin. Dudes an absolute gem and they lost that over a few dollars. They lost the rest of the movies.
He was cutting his hair before tales making the movie impossible to edit
What about Carrie Fisher?
Bro was a problem for Charlie’s angels
His character certainly had problems. I didn’t hear about anything, but I wasn’t looking for it either.
Might be getting him confused with Bill Murray, in the first film.
Allegedly Murray has rubbed quite a few people the wrong way, from co-stars and actors to people working on set.
And on Charlie's Angels he did this to Lucy Liu and they had to be separated, things got that bad between them.
Glover is God. You don't sin against God.
Crispin fine AF here 🥵 yes I'm black lol 😆
