Some players that i forgot to include but 100% deserve to be atleast above Yamaguchi:
    -Shohei Fukunaga
    -Ren Omini
    -Masaki Gora
    -Daki Ogano
    -Kazuma Numai
Eikichi Chigaya is massively overrated. and Yuji Terushima should move up a spot or 2. Kentaro is low on this list. Even though he is extremely skilled. However, the moment he started to work with his teammates, he almost became completely irrelevant because he wasn’t used to it. Sadly that’s the last we saw of him. If we’d have seen him again, he’d be an absolute beast probably ranking with tanaka or Asahi or even higher.

@@lennartbreil6500 @Lennart Breil yeah. ofcourse some potions are interchangeable. After all, there's no objective way to determine who's better between a setter and a libero. for example Nishinoya and Kenma. Their jobs are just too different. It's like comparing a defender and a striker in football. So I just try to go on why gives the other team the most trouble/contributes the most in their own team. And Ojiro got over shadowed by Atsumu, Osamu and their blocker with the long limbs. Meanwhile Aone for example was stopping Karasuno almost single handedly. It's all about what you view as more important at the end of the day. Daichi for example is basically Karasuno's lifeline both mentally and physically. But he's not that high because he's mostly in the background. Everyone is basically really close to each other except for maybe the top 10. ranking sports people is always just nitpicking in the end. I personally wasn't that impressed by Ojiro. but that's only because we never saw everything he could do because the focus was more on Atsumu and Osama and he had a shared focus with Suna. Meanwhile Aone had all the attention and all his good actions were on screen and in the spotlight.

I personally think Hinata’s good given his lack of experience but because of his lack of experience I’d place him lower

    • @monked6966
      @monked6966  3 роки тому +6

Hmm. His lack of experience was mainly the fact that he had always been acting on instinct right? After Inarizaki, it’s safe to say he has gained his immense game sense, way above average. He predicted the Miya’s Quick attack, he could work with Tsukishima to stop Suna’s 80 degrees rotation attack without even talking with him about it, he was able to see through Osamu’s plan to fake spike, which even tricked Tsukishima completely. While he’s probably the second smartest person only second to Kenma. The only signs of a lack of experience you can see rn are the fact that he can’t do serves except for ones that are very easy to retrieve.
Hinata’s a beast with techniques. He can do a feints, block outs, normal quick attacks and ofcourse the minus-tempo ones. We even saw him do an extremely sharp cross shot against Nekoma, though he never used it again. He mastered the split step, so he can now receive powerful spikes.
Besides having all these crazy techniques, he also has pure talent, and physical abilities. He can outlast anyone on the court when it comes to a stamina battle. Also making him the best decoy in the entire anime. You’d say that he has to use all his stamina to make up for his lack of height, however in s4 that’s not the case anymore. He can jump as high as Hoshiumi, meaning he’s on par with most players in an air battle, but while he can face them, they can’t face him; he has the speed and stamina to go around them, to literally just walk around the wall instead of trying to climb it. While he makes a high wall for his opponents. He can literally run to the other side of the court before his opponents can react.
So I think he def deserves his spot.

kinda weird to rank people we see do things greater after season 4 in this tier list at all IMO. Either rank them based on how good they actually are at that point in time, or remove them if we don't see a lot of them. Kiyoomi below ushijima might make sense given what we see of him, but I'd rather see him off the list because we technically are only working off what we're told about him. Also, I'd like to point out that Osamu has 0 feats beyond hitting the freak quick and setting it, which is cool and all, but he is underwhelming as a hitter, blocker, and even not special as a reciever. We're working entirely on the idea that he is "as good as atsumu" even though we never see osamu do anything special in multiple categories

Thanks! Yeah, I heard about Yaku being a bit better than Nishinoya, but since I haven"t read the Manga, I was trying to include only info from up to S4. And since Nekoma vs Karasuno hasn't happened yet, I thought he lacked the feats to place him above Nishinoya currently. As for Sakusa and Hoshiumi, I don't know. Could very well be. But just to explain my reasoning: From what i saw, i thought Hoshiumi was more versatile. They depicted him as someone who dominated in like almost every aspect of the game. While Sakusa was depicted more as someone who specialised in spikes. And since Volleyball works with rotations, I thought he is more useful.

@@koray3375 in s4 Kageyama literally learns from Atsumu that what he and Oikawa have been doing has its limits and he’ll never become the best setter that way; changing his sets to suit the teammate rather than knowing their limits himself and forcing them to adapt to it.
Now during their S4 match, Kageyama mastered that. It’s literally what his entire king persona was about. But this time in a good way, having learned from his mistakes. Having done that, he has surpassed Oikawa who’s still stuck in the ways of changing his sets to suit his teammates. Ushijima’s statement is from season 3.
Hinata’s S4 match was literally also about that. He has acquired propper (and far above average at that) volleyball IQ. With even Tsukishima putting his trust in his volleyball IQ. He also learned his incredibly high jumps to also block people.
Hinata was a ball of talent chained by weaknesses. He has overcome almost every single weakness by now. Including becoming independant from Kageyama. Especially since Kageyama isn’t the only one who can do those fast passes. Ofcourse he’s better with good teammates. That’s how it is in every sport and every team, you amplify each other. And he’s always creating miracles, so he also has it featwise. He literally also blocked a shot from Ushijma for example.

@@monked6966 so ur putting hinata above people like korai who can do everything hinata can do but much better? And kageyama is not necessarily able to get 100% out of every teammate. Also why would a statement from this other setter hold more validity than oikawas, kageyamas and ushijimas because of what he thinks makes a good setter.

@@koray3375 Korai is literally ranked second lol, get a grip.
Also, you’re talking out of your ass. Oikawa’s entire charaxter arc is about him realising Kageyama has talent that he’ll never be able to overcome once it flourishes and it’s just a matter of time before it does. That’s what makes him so miserable.
And now in s4, that talent has flourished.
As for Atsumu’s statement, he’s considered the best setter before the timeskip. Gaining even a standing ovation from Karasuno’s coach for how much of a technical genius he is. So his statement hold a 100 times more value than Ushijima, who’s an ace, not a setter. And as I said above, Oikawa himself doesn’t think he’s better than Kageyama. Kageyama looked up to Oikawa because at that point, Oikawa was actually better than him. Just like Hinata initially thought of the other Aoba Johsai members as good/threats. Despite showing us in Karasuno’s openings match at Nationals that they’ve advanced so far that those kind of teams seem average to them now. It’s like you skipped s4?
