I'd say 2 is the best of all, even people don't like Shrek have said they love Shrek 2. If a sequel can not only be as good as the original but also surpass it in success and love, you must be doing something right.

Fact: Chris Farley was casted for Shrek and he got plenty of voice lines done. However, due to his death, he was replaced with Mike Myers.
To be exact Farley recorded half of Shrek’s dialogue but yes due to his tragic death he was replaced. One of the other actors they had in mind was Robin Williams but due to his Rocky relationship with Jeffery Kataenburg Robin wouldn’t work with him again.

@Mr T I mean even at the time celebrity doing voice acting were not new Disney had used them for many of their films beforehand but the Genie was the first time a character was written for a specific celebrity in mind. But yes it has for a good while. Although it does seem for the most part when these studios are getting a celebrity to play a part it’s a part that works for them.

it took me like 4 years to realize that the fiticious mike myres is a totally different person from the actor mike myres

Hard to believe this game changing film is 15 years old already. Of course, it takes on a whole new meaning once you understand the personal history behind its creation. Let's just say, the CEO of Dreamworks had a few bones to pick with Disney.
