Aerosmith actually wrote this in 1975. In 1986, Run-DMC's producer Rick Rubin asked the group to cover Aerosmith's 1975 song “Walk this Way”. ... According to Edgers, the new version of “Walk this Way” “made it safe to be black and mainstream” and “proved that hip hop, dismissed by many as a fad, had legs
Love Steven Tyler for being a fan of music and his open minded to allow one of his songs for this collaboration which literally put rap music genre on the map
@@infin8reactions I was ust going to say that! :D This was new at the time; something that had never done before. Nowaydays it seems odd that blending genres was such a taboo back then.
I'm more familiar with Aerosmith's original recording of this from 1975, but this one is pretty good too . . . because they included Steven Tyler and added some rap!!
This right was the reason aerosmith got their second career after drugs and burnout destroyed them in the early 80s they got clean and became massive during the 90s. Supposedly these are second lyrics to this song Steven lost the original in a taxi on the way to the studio and wrote new ones on the studio walls. also the song title came from young Frankenstein. I believe the song is about a young unpopular person first experience with sex I could be wrong
Another great rock/rap song (although not a collaboration like this one) is Tom MacDonald's "Ashes." ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=tom+macdonald+ashes

What a blast from the past. This was very good and I enjoyed it very much back then and now! Thank you for reacting to this song.
That was an awesome Live Stream. So much fun 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Have to do more themes like that.
I saw run dmc live in Australia in 98... They were 🔥🔥🔥
This blew everyone’s minds when it came out.
Great review!! Thanks!! Check out Run DMC "Peter Piper". I think that is one of my favorite songs!!

An even better IMR watch the second time around😁
They proved two different types of music can blend together brilliantly🥰
Maybe this was the inadvertent birth of nu metal? 🤔
Either way, it's a great song 😁
