There's no such thing as an old welder. We're all gonna die of something, man. Let's just enjoy what we do. That said, watch the way he shadows his arms with his hands. After a while, you learn how to do things like that.
Wear an $8 long-sleeve flannel shirt. Tuck the shirt in so you don't knock things off your work bench. After you run 5 welds, your shop is 110 degrees, and running the fans messes up your shielding gas, you'll start to re-think the long-sleeves.
Cool build, Justin! I have a small tabletop horizontal bandsaw and I’m able to cut up to 3.5” square tube at 45 degrees IF I’m making the cut at the very end of the tube. The saw frame has just enough clearance to get around the corner. It will waste a little material on a project, but may give you some expanded capability. Just thought I’d share my experience!
Newbe here today,,,I remember those days when a plate that heavy was a piece of cake to move around,,,,(@@) 40+ years ago. I just bought a 22 x 30in x 1/2 plate to add a folding leaf to existiing 30 x 24 x 12 welding table,,,had to use my engine host too set it up on my HD table saw (that's near same height as our column mill) to slide over onto mill table to drill / mill the 30 5/8 od holes for fixturing. Had to leaf,,running out of shop work area since we drug in a LeBlond 17 to replace a SB 9c...(@@),,,Will be back to see more action,,NIce HD Table,,I too own an Everlast,,a 256S and love it and the support team. Bear.
Great build. I think I would have left the hex on the bolt head. It looks better rounded off, but with the hex still on it, I could use a wrench to fine adjust the height much easier.
Not sure how you get 2.11 mm 🤣 3.1 mm maybe 👍 for what you’re making here though, you probably wouldn’t use the .1 of a mm. Just saying 👍 Love your work 👍😎
What the hell is 2.11mm sounds like some Frankenstein metric and imperial baby oh. Drop the cm just uses mm for every thing, it the best way to use metric every shop I've worked just uses mm. it just removes all of the decimal points.
Wow! I have the same problem now with a 3 foot by 5 foot almost two inch table top. I have to build a frame and then bolt it to it somehow. what do you suggest my friend?
It might be useful to create a small pedal shelf to place your tig pedal in a good spot so you can be as comfortable as possible when sitting at your new awesome art table! I made one for one of the tables at work and it has been perfect for those tedious projects that you want to be as comfortable as possible for!
Like your content a lot! I just want to encourage you to use a guard with your cutoff tool. I never thought it could happen to me and now I'm missing pieces from my fingers.

I just love your work. Your attention to detail takes it into art level. Please don't keep it for yourself but find young guys who have a calling for this kind of work and teach them. Or teach at a technical school. These days all our kids want to play on the internet or be paper pushers, that's why America is going down. Thank you for your very instructional videos.
Also...I see uve become a believer in Everlast lol I feel ya, I have Everlast 210ext. Been awesome machine. Also Miller Dynasty 280. All that's really different is the smooth AC arc starts, customer service and reliability. Other than that, VERY comparable in performance and features, that's why I plan on selling my 210ext and buying the everlast 350ext for thick aluminum and and big jobs, and a tank of Stargon AL. They are badass for the price, I've never had an issue so far
Last year, I had a job where I had to cut a bunch of 45° cuts in 4" tube, and I have the same issue with my small bandsaw that you describe. So, I made a miter template -- I cut about a 6" section of the 4" tube, and cut off 2 sides, leaving a 90° corner *with* the radius of the tube, which is important as it helps stay accurate as you scribe around the corner. One side is square, the other side is at 45°. The straight and angled sides were filed by hand until they were straight and on the money. It's best to clamp the template when you scribe a line. I consider this a permanent tool and it works on all smaller sizes of tube, too.
Regarding the L-channel on the top sides, please be careful not to cut your finger tips off when moving the table-top on and off. I built a similar table top with L-brackets holding the top in place, I nearly lost my digits due to the scissor effect of two metal edges sliding together.
I had the exact same problem with my saw today when cutting 45's. I put a spacer between the tube and the fixed jaw of the vice and it worked great! 4" structural channel on a smaller saw than yours. #RKdevelopments.
Had tables like them in a shop that i worked in for 27 years hated moving those tables Ti i figured out i could slip a floor jack under the no wheel side plus had a cart like that at home hated it
Yeah, once I realized it was easy enough to lift I thought it could be used more like a hand truck. I’m not sure if the original idea would have been better or not.

I’m normally welding at pretty low amps. Not saying I recommend it. I’v only ever been burnt mig welding. I also feel like I sit so close with tig my arm isn’t exposed directly as often. I do sometimes use long sleeves though.
I love it brother, as someone who does similar welding from homeshop, I think this is badass idea, like better and more practical than a giant fixture table, for me. Gotta find a chunk that size....where did u find it? All I have is a 12" × 12"...Great idea and video!
I LOVE MY MAG PIC POINTS. I THINK THE BIGGEST ONE I HAVE IS RATED FOR 500 LBS OF OVERHEAD LIFTING. I KNOW THEY MAKE MUCH LARGER ONES. THAT AND A PIVOTING 6'+6' JIB CRANE . IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND HOW MUCH YOU USE IT.
What about putting a small spacer between the fixed jaw of the band saw and the material to shim the material over a little to keep the saw from hitting the material and completing the cut?? Great video.

To aid your moving over to metric, a little info.. centimetres are not used in the engineering world.. it is just millimetres and metres.. centimetres are used in the dressmaking and the like. So your table high is not expressed as 104.4 cm it is 1044 mm.

Yeah, I really like the field of view. Especially since I’m setting up cameras and stuff I can double check things in my peripheral easy right before I start or in between welds.
This is perfect i actually just went to the best place ever today its like an hour away but its an awesome metal yard everything was so cheap I got like 200 ft of different stuff. I'm new to welding and metal fabrication my first project was headlight mounts for my truck. They didn't turn out to bad next is a welding cart for my machine. Then possibly a grill for my truck? Still haven't decided if I want to fiberglass one or build one from metal.
@@JustVoss working on a welding cart right now as my 2nd project its coming together nicely. I did have a question about a good way to reinforce the frame a bit so it doesn't bow in the middle. I made the base out of angle and I have some square for the legs then a top made from angle i plan on sticking a couple drawers and some cabinet space in it.

Might want to add a small locking lever or something to prevent it from sliding forward when landing it after walking around.

I’v considered it, it just really makes them not as useful. I try my best to keep my hand and face out of the way for inevitably when one flies apart.

As long as there is a bare metal connection from the clamp to the table and then bare metal on the table to the piece you can just clamp to the table.
That welder didn’t come with a mig gun

What about adding a piece of steel to attach your ground clamp? I guess you could attach the ground to the handle.

The grab handle should've been put on the other side of the wheels, so you can lift and push. Much easier.

I called a local metal supplier/fabrication shop and they plasma cut it out. I was kinda surprised.

100% argon. And no none did, but I jumped around a bunch and waited enough that they were cooled down when I sealed them.
@@JustVoss I meant flow rate. There was a shot of the flow meter and it looked like 40. I'm far too mean to use that much :)
Ben C was around 35, the Furick cups takes a lot of gas.

It all varies from place to place but it should be around $100
