I want to add about Dutch colonialism in Indonesia more than 350 years. At that time the Vereenigde Osst Indische Compagnie was fiiling up the saving money trade 😜 and they are looking for a herbs, chocolate, cacao to Indonesia. After that so much decade there was a war world two (around 1943-1945) Indonesia under Japan colonialism and the Dutch didn’t realized that Indonesia has having his independence. The Dutch still want Indonesian again. The war continued until November 1949. Even though the problem are excess the money, Netherland did not admit. After that, communist was in influence Indonesia too, Indonesia’s having a political war and it is the dramatical domestic war. There coup d’Etat the 7 army having murder by it’s organization. Ohh God, my parents rises by the weird ages. Hopefully my generation more happier than my parents 🙏🏻☺️
Also it is chosen as bamboo because indonesia is rich in agriculture

You must know that the Dutch colonization of Indonesia was assisted by Allied forces, when Japan announced that it had lost the war in WW2 the allies came to disarm the Japanese army, but had a double plan to help the Dutch colonization return to Indonesia, the allies also disarmed the Indonesian army which caused riots and resulted in the killing of bigadir general mallaby from England in surabaya city november 1945.
On 1 November 1945, 1,500 British Marines from Jakarta landed in Surabaya. Then November 3, landed about 24,000 soldiers from the 5th Division of Malaya.This 5th Division was the army that defeated Marshal Rommel in the battle at El Alamein. Plus the remaining troops of the 49th Brigade, the total British troops reached 30,000 personnel.
The British also deployed a number of warships to bombard the city of Surabaya from the sea. They were also reinforced by dozens of Stuart light tanks and Sherman heavy tanks. British artillery relied on a 15 pound gun and a 15 pound howitzer. Not only that, 20 Mosquito fighters and 12 P-4 Thunderbolt hunters carrying 250 kg bombs were also deployed to beat Surabaya City.
All these forces were deployed to face the TKR (Indonesian Army) which had only been established for a few days. Assisted by armed soldiers as they are and the people who only have sharp weapons because they don't want to be colonized again. People who refused to surrender their weapons and walked with their hands above their heads in a sign of submission to England.
There are about 20,000 members of the TKR (Indonesian army) and armed laskar. Plus civilian volunteers who reach more than 100,000 people.
"Freedom or death" is our watchword in war
And the fighting lasted for 16 days since November 10, 1945, ending with the defeat of the allies but it has killed more than 15,000 Indonesian soldiers and civilian volunteers who fought without weapons but continued to fight against sophisticated weapons and heavy artillery.

It's about the battle of Surabaya in November 1945. British Army was tasked to secure South East Asia, disarm Japanese forces and liberate POWs. But Indonesia has declared independence before British arrived and Japanese forces were already disarmed by freedom fighters. The British Army sent 5th Indian Division under Maj. General Mansergh to forcibly disarm the Indonesian freedom fighters in Surabaya. This was the start of the four-year struggle with the Netherlands that replaced British, until the war ended in 1949.
