  • The 30th anniversary of the Arts-in-Medicine (AIM) Program at Shands University of Florida in 2020. In 1990 AIM UF was co-founded by Dr. John Graham-Pole and Mary Rockwood Lane and supported by a volunteer network of artists, including painters, musicians, drummers, and dancers. John and Mary ran the program until 1992 before the Shands operating budget paid artists-in-residence. AIM's first Musician-in-Residence Cathy DeWitt and John Graham-Pole reminisce about the early days of AIM and these Unsung Heroes who so generously donated their time and creativity to support patients, their families, and professional caregivers. Jay Klein and Jill Sonke are the artists-in-residence mentioned in the poem Swing Dance.
