Loved that place.. great memories.. went there in the late 60's many, many times with my dad who would drive us kids in the 1957 Chevy stepside shop truck from Arizona Sash & Door park on the side of the finish line put the tail gate down and watch the races.
I started racing there in 1963. I quit racing in the early 1970's when they began putting the dragster motors in the back. Who was the last to win with a front engined dragster? Tony Nancy
Thanks so much for posting. I lived in the Phoenix area from 2006 to 2016. I never heard of this until now. Like the saying goes better late then never.
By any chance did you find a few 6 packs of Coors that the security guards took away every time I went to the AHRA Winternationals. I finally learned to leave it in the camper and take a break once in a while and chug a couple
Brandon Edmundson The entire area has returned to desert. The racetrack was torn up and the surface gas long been carried away. The first part of the video is pointing down the strip from in front of the timing area. You could start there and follow that to it's conclusion to the shutdown area.
Watched Bob Glidden in his 1st year racing a Pro Stock Pinto. Dyno Don won the race with his Pinto. AHRA Winternationals 1973.

Thanks. Is there a part 1 video?
Brandon Edmundson I thought there was. I'll find it and upload.
Can you drive down the original lanes?
