when it really hot it can be easy, but sometimes you just have to work to find them first. The seam to move a lot and they can be very very picky from one day to the next!
Loved your video. Surprised I haven’t bumped into you yet. I am always out kayak fishing around New Bern. Thanks for the recipe, I keep looking for one my wife will like with Trout. We both agree they tend to be a little fishy, as we are kind of spoiled eating walleye and perch most of our life from the Great Lakes. Let’s connect and get out fishing. There are several guys in our local community that love to kayak fish. Happy New Year…. Jim
Thank you for your kind comments. And it would be great to get together and Fish sometime. Funny, I’m also from up north originally from upstate New York. Bass, walleye pike, perch all that was my thing back in the day.
Yes, very good size fish they’re all fat and really thick. I just had an awesome trip in a creek. Every fish was 20 to 23 inches and super heavy!!! Good news is it’s only gonna get better!
New subscriber, glad your video popped up in my feed. The recipe looks great, I'll have to try it. I think I've seen you at the ramp once or twice, I'm the guy in the Key West 239 FS. It's a bit big for fishing around the bridges and trestles but you use what you've got. I'm new to trout fishing and going through some growing pains so gleaning any tips I can from you, other youtubers and friends.
Thank you, my friend. I’m glad my videos are helping you. I moved here from upstate New York and I had to learn a lot myself . One thing I’ll tell you we are one of the best fishing locations in the country for so many species. I can help you transition into learning here. I’m happy to help. Trout should be around the bridges not in the numbers like they were in the fall, but they’ll be there right now .
Thank you I appreciate that. Where is your wife from? I lived in China for over eight years and now my fiancé is a Filipina. I’m one of those weird Americans that’s gotten used to eating fish heads and stuff like that. But I know it’s really difficult for most Americans..
@davefish84 my wife is also Filipina. Her and her family have opened up my culinary world. Go for it! I hunt and fish quite often. I love making a dish out of something I've harvested. Then take it a step further and try to understand how another country or culture would do it if I harvested it in their area of the world.
Hi my friend, I enjoy eating fish, but I enjoy catching them even more!!! Most of the fish I catch our cat release. It’s just a blessing to be able to keep some and eat them once in a while. But for the most part just being out there, enjoying the experience and catching them is the best part!
Check out union points, and New Bern right next to the Marriott hotel. They have parking in a little boat ramp that puts you real close the bridge. I have a private spot right access closer. But I have launched from that boat launch and it’s really not far at all very convenient. And sometimes there’s trout right there off the point next to the park.
Awesome video bro bro!!
Thank you. I’m in Jacksonville and trying to learn this sport. You make it look so easy.

I fish New bern a lot and live in Kinston. I have Kayaks and maybe see you on the water.
Would love to see you out there. It’s an awesome fisher here for sure. Everywhere from New Bern to Morehead city.
People are getting a lot of reds right now in the area all over the Neuse river.

My wife said "hoy sus, where's the best part? You need the head!" 😅
Great catch and great video.

Maybe I’ll do a video on cooking those weird parts. 😂

Do you also do UA-cam UA-cam with your videos?
What color xrap do you like
@@caydee2601 gold is definitely my go too!!! But the silver or the white can be good as well.
Where is the closest boat ramp to the bridge? Thanks
Lawson's Creek Boat Ramp would be the closest ramp. There’s still a really hot bite. Was just on them again really good yesterday!!!
Ran across your channel today. I am from jacksonville. Where is a good place to launch a kayak around the bridge?
