I've never been a huge Flugelhorn fan myself - but that's probably because I've never played a really good one. Mine is mediocre at best - I have to really work hard to get notes in tune. Maybe Santa will be extra good to me this year.... Thanks for watching @Tristan. 🎺
I like the Flügelhorn too but am a trumpet player myself. I think it has a much softer sound to it than the sharp sound of the Trumpet. (And it really annoys me that everyone doesn‘t use the ü, ä and ö in german words. But no offense intended)
Wow b that's amazing u also played french horn too along with clarinet bass bass clarinet n it's so surreal. I previously won Titanic tickets on oldies 98.1 and wanted so bad to hear my heart will go on. But didn't get to go so Gods work again we connect can't wait to play it and think of my son 42 bday today n won't see him but sending through music 🎵 thanks to you and our 💕 also with the green angels 😇😇 play over n over 🐢🐶
Thank you so much for this. It's helping me learn and relearn the trumpet. I learned a few notes a few years ago and am always busy working and haven't had much time to play so I am relearning what I learned before and all the notes I hadn't learned to play yet. Thank you
I am very happy to subscribe to your page. I've been looking for something like this for a long time and it's perfect. The notes are distributed within the lines of the staff, which makes it easier to play them because they are not very high, just what a beginner needs. The cool touch is when you have your turn to play the piece on the same track. Is a pleasure meeting you!
Daniel, you make a good point regarding music that's "within the staff" and easier to play. I'll definitely make it a point to try to make the "easy" stuff happen more often. Thanks for watching! 🎺
@MrBsCOVERS Thank you for replying. It did come as a bit of surprise to me, to be honest. We went out to a local museum one night for one of their special events, and there was a Brass Band playing. I ended up staying there to listen for a couple of hours. After a few days of thinking, I contacted them and bought a new cornet, and the rest is going to be a new chapter. .
I have a love for the cornet... but a flugel/bugel would definately be second. That sound is so soft and sweet. One of my favourite pieces for the flugel/bugel is Salvation Army version of Shine Jesus Shine. If you ever consider playing Christian music... you should try this one ;-) Thanks again these heavily sounds of brass!
I also play it on my Flugelhorn. Nice sound gives it. ❤ May be you can arrege FEELINGS in the style of Faust Popetty. I know he plays sax. But its sound on Flugelhorn also nice.
Mr B, much respect, I have used your California blue for 5 months learning that song. Do you write trumpet solos for songs, if so how does one start. I was inspired by mariachi music to learn the trumpet...mi muero by Natalia Jimenez is a perfect trumpet song...but as of yet no one has put it in paper
Writing the song implies that I'm "composing" the piece. What I do is "transcribe" the music. In other words - figure out which notes the performers are playing and then make them work for trumpet. (sometimes making the key sign or rhythms easier...). The way I do it is to import the recording into "Logic Pro X" (Apple software) and then I "play along" (on a keyboard) with the recording while recording what I'm playing. It takes anywhere from 1-3 hours to do the melody, bass line, drum set parts, keyboard & string parts, etc., and you see the end results. Happy to add "Mi Muero" to my list. Thanks for watching!
@@MrBsCOVERS thank you so much, the mi muero done by Natalia jimenez. I will try to start this myself, I expect it to take a couple of months. When done let me know where I can buy the sheet music you've created.

Beautiful sound with the Flugelhorn! As a French Horn and Trumpet player for many years, it's making me want to get a Flugelhorn now! :)

Mr B King of the World! Beautiful Thank You
Thanks for actually making me Laugh Out Loud.
😂🎺
I just love your channel. Everything about it reminds me of my old band director, Chad Davenport!
"old band director". Hey! I resemble that remark...

I have just started playing Cornet again after 20+ years and I'm really enjoying playing along😊
I always love to hear from someone who's "rediscovered" their cornet. Have fun, and welcome to the channel!
