- Sharon Faith Ries is best known as the wife of Raul Ries, the pastor of Calvary Chapel Golden Springs in Diamond Bar, CA, and teacher for Somebody Loves You Radio. His dramatic story was retold in the book and film From Fury to Freedom, but her spiritual roots run deep, both in the United States and South America, as a daughter of missionaries.
She leads and teaches in the Women’s Ministry at CCGS, serves on the Calvary Chapel Pastors Wives’ Board and does extensive missionary work in South America. Sharon has an intense passion to see souls saved. With her husband Raul, she has three sons and four grandchildren.

My condolences to the family. It will be 5 years this July that may wife died.
I remember watching the movie Fury To Freedom when I was a little girl, and I loved it. It hit so close to home, and what my mom went through with my dad. My dad was a real bad alcoholic and he was abusive towards my mom. I just remember praying all the time he would sober up. He's been sober for 11 years now. Praise be to God!!!
After reading this book Isaiah 54 became my life passage. It brought me through a difficult marriage where there was substance abuse. Like Sharon, I had given my life to the Lord before meeting my husband. He was a Christian when I met him but he walked away from the Lord later in our marriage. You don't know what life is going to throw at you when you make a commitment to Christ. I have it posted on my mirror. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. It's there to remind me when I pray over my household. It's my declaration. It's my decree. And whether you are a woman or a man the Lord Himself is your Husband and your Maker. Thank you, Sharon, for writing this book which saved my life and taught me how to rely on God instead of my husband.

Sharon, I remember the first time I read this book back in the 90's and the all night women's study we had at Calvary Chapel, Diamond Bar - it changed my life because I was in a very similar place in my life and marriage. I also have all my notes on Psalm 119 that you did when the church moved from West Covina to outside in Diamond Bar. That was the time of my true growth in God. I have made reference to your book and those study notes to many women since I have moved to Bullhead City, AZ. I love you and your family and have great memories of women's studies there, Barbara and Dale; the first Somebody Loves You crusades, and the Golden Springs worship team. Thank you for sharing your love of God. I also loved the teachings of your Mother, Naomi Farrel. hroughout the years I have shared my spiritual journey and love of God with my seven [7] granddaughters and others. Now I am here in Bullhead .. I am so grateful that God has healed you, and that you have been blessed with as many grandchildren if not more now! [I remember your first grandchild] One day we will have to introduce our Monae's to each other. I pray for you and Pastor Raul often. Look at your journey - What an awesome God we serve.
Wow...what a very powerful testimony on a changed life in Jesus...and now, by the grace of God, the Lord is using Raul in very powerful way to change the lives of others as a Pastor of a church and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Also, my admiration to Raul's wife Sharon for what she went thru and now how it is all being turned around for the glory of the Lord and that souls would be won. Oh, how God LOVES US....how God LOVES us!

Thank you Pastor Sharon Ries for sharing your story. I shared a similar wife's story as you except mine resulted in a divorce. I hope that your testimony reaches far and wide. I know that had I found you back then my life wouldn't have been so dark at times and I could have slain that enemy spirit sooner than later. However had I not gone through that storm I wouldn't be the woman I am today. I found my true love in Christ Jesus and complete content is what I feel in my heart, all is forgiven. Sharon I really enjoyed your story. I also watched the movie from the app Somebody Loves You, you have an amazing heart and soo much love💗 Hope to someday meet you and Pastor Raul. My family and I got to attend Drive up service and I can feel the love and welcoming of the church. That was our first time there, we watched service online, I began to read the bible along with Through the Bible with Pastor Raul, and I got to watch Essential Wisdom an episode on UA-cam that you shared with the ladies that I enjoyed and got some advice from.Thank you!
