    Didn't know you could do this until this video. People saying you can buy this online, etc. I think the video is just showing you can do it, and it's fun learning this stuff.

    Guys who are comparing this one to those found on ebay and such:
    Dude made something, that's gonna have pretty nice audio quality. Stuff that's 5-10 bucks is usually made of cheapest materials and those are not doing well in audio. That matters ;)

    Good work. I think that cable is not for audio use though. I have one question: ebay adapters have moving gears inside for auto reverse or so but yours is empty. It is ok like that ?

    • @JakesWorkshop

      +Kenneth Asibal hi, if the tape is constantly getting rejected then you need to adjust the position of the head, becouse it might me too close or too far for the head in the radio.
      The left and right channel are normally located together.. hope it helps

      First you have to some how manage to scrape up 7 dollars, I know it's a lot but trust me it's worth it, then if you can some how find a Wal-Mart (very rare not many around anymore) and go inside and purchase an mp3 cassette converter. I've tried for the past 2 years just to find a Wal-Mart after the 5 years it took me to save the 7 dollars. Good luck, hope this helped.

    Ahh i loved this. Ur accent the music, all very easy to understand, I did this project with my little brother. Unfortunately when I put it in on one side only it recognizes the tape for about half a second clicks in and then clicks out so it didn’t work. Have you got any ideas?

    • @tookitogo
      @tookitogo 5 років тому

      Many players require both reels to move, to know that the tape hasn't run out. That's why commercial cassette adapters use false reels connected by gears.

    Why are people so negative, this was a good video and i found it informative. Yes, i can buy one, but if i did i had not learned a thing, that's just a realy stupid comment that oly dumb down. Yea, the casette may be worth a little, but thay are not that rare or expensive actually, they are not even real collectibles, i had to throw lot of my old cassettes in the garbage when i cleaned out my old childhoodroom in my parents house some years ago, this is a lot better use i can tell.

    Btw, I just try to do this, but something doesn't work :'(

    • @chemjblab
      @chemjblab 10 років тому +1

      Hi, you can also use 2 wires but your music will be playing only on one side of the car which is pretty anoying so try to use 3 wires for best experience
      If you dont get any sound try to make your magnetic head more flexible and hot glue few centimeters of wire befor the head starts. The reason is becouse the head in cassette and the head in cassette player must bu touching in a specific situation so try to move your head in cassette for a few mm front or back and when you will get sound you are pretty much done. Contact me if you have more information :)

      Auto-reverse cassette players monitor the rotation of the reels, to know when to stop or reverse the tape. So a cassette adapter actually needs to contain false reels connected by gears.

      +yasser aboamoud Because some cassette decks think that when one wheel is not turning it has reached the end of the tape. Auto stop will then activate or it will flip to the other side.
      Most do not have this feature though.

    • @JoshuasRecordings
      @JoshuasRecordings 9 років тому

      +RocketMan153251 Yup, plus you also find that some really nice decks actually do not auto reverse, the Teac V-3000 for example. You can have a bigger head if it does auto reverse.

      the head that the dude removed from the old hifi is actually a magnetic audio wave printer that prints in the cassette tape whenever you're recording from a radio channel. when he connected it to the smartphone via audio jack , it "prints" the audio waves coming from the smartphone to the magnetic reader of the cars audio system . so instead of reading from the tape it's reading directly the magnetic head of the cassette.
