  • In this video, I teach you how to make a longbow with minimal tools and experience. The most important aspect of a bow is the wood it is made of. The following is a list of 15 “good” trees that I am aware of :D
Importantly, these trees make good bows because they are epic.
    1. White Oak
    2. Red Oak
    3. Sugar Maple
    4. Elm
    5. Hickory
    6. Black Locust
    7. Ironwood
    8. Hornbeam
    9. Hazel
    10. Hawthorn
    11. Osage Orange
    12. Yew
    13. Hazel
    14. Ash
    15. Mulberry

Honestly, this is by far the best video you have made yet! The time that went into making this video is very apparent and I honestly feel like this is one of those videos I would have clicked on and watched all the way through even if you were a total stranger to me. Amazing work brother, seriously great job!

    Hello,
I’ve enjoyed your content thus far, and because of that, I’ve subscribed to your channel. I am much older than you, and I very much respect what you’re doing at such a young age. I feel that you’re doing an excellent job of making fun videos that convey useful information in a simple and thorough manner. I hope that more people subscribe, and that encourages you to keep providing new content as you progress in your hobbies, as well as in life in general.
    I have a question, if I may...
Do you still own and use your Condor Makara machete? I recently purchased one, and your two testing videos, as well as JOE X’s destruction test video, are what convinced me to try this model over other Condors. I have not used it yet, but plan to do so next weekend on a camping trip. The machete that I have been using recently is a TOPS .230, which is also a heavy chopper as machetes go, but not as big and robust as the Makara. I will be interested to see how the two compare, and I’m hoping for good things from the new blade. Like the Makara, there is not much content on UA-cam about the .230, but I find it to be an excellent tool.
This comment ended up being much longer that I had expected, but you seem like an astute fellow who is capable of reading coherent sentences (rather than the acronyms, abbreviations, and pictograms that are more common nowadays), so I hope that you’ll indulge my long-windedness. If you keep providing content, I’ll keep watching and liking the videos. Thank you.

This comment means wonders to me! Thank you very much for all of your kind words! I still do use my Makara machete when I have to deal with tough vegetation like tree branches, or even removing large amounts of wood from bow staves. I am confident that you will have a great time with the Makara on your camping trip. Your comment will keep the fire burning in me to keep putting out the videos that I make. Thank you :)

Is good except I think is er um to toast the bow over campfire to shape and dry the wood isn’t it? Is very much accurate wtg!
