    It amazes me that there are hardly any videos out there show casing the F1x and SF2. Thank you very much for making this video

    Hello Samatza, thank you for the great video about the Alembic F1x. It's the best video I've ever seen on this awesome preamp. And you're right, each of the different preamps delivers an individual sound. He has to fit the style of music. And with the Alembic F1x you get pretty much everything perfect.

      Frank Bode thank you. It’s a really nice preamp and it’s hard to get a bad sound out of it. For me it makes the character of the bass shine through and adds a nice dimension to the sound, nice punchy lows with lots of clarity. Glad you enjoyed the vid.

      Hi Paul, yes, it has that something wonderful in the tone. It's beefy without being muddy. Keep well Paul.

    I do have an F2B...beautiful preamp..along with it in my rack, I have raine me 15 eq then, a Bose eq/crossover into a very old crest audio FA power amp..I use combination 1 or 2 Bose 802-2 speakers into a special built 15in cab. With that setup I will use my Alembics. I use that setup for special music occasions...

      @@samatza Indeed, It is an incredible sound very specialised..
      Unfortunately in light of the present cultural change of our country and world, I really don't have too many places I can use it these days..😟

    Please do a follow up on the F1X with more playing and tone demos from it. Its a rarely spotlighted amp.

      nuke97 Thanks for your message, we’ll do a more detailed tone test and show how the tone stack is interactive soon.

    Sir could you listen to song Vulcan worlds by return to forever and the bass solo could you duplicate that tone

    • @samatza
      @samatza  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Louski. I had a listen to that solo- that tone is largely the filters on the Alembic bass, not so much the preamp. I think you could come close with a F-2B Superfilter preamp.
      I'll try and do a video on this sort of sound and we'll see how close we can get with the filters on the bass. Keep well Louski.

    what are the differences between Fender Twin and Alembic F2B?

    • @samatza
      @samatza  5 років тому +2

      Sorrow 81 F-2B is a dual channel version of the F-1X. The tone stack on a Fender Twin is very similar and has the same interactions between controls.
      For guitar the Fender Twin is a great clean amp that’s all tube and has that wonderful spring reverb if you like that retro vibe. I still have one from 1969 and it sounds great for clean guitar tones.
      F-2B is kind of rack mount version of the two channel Fender preamp and also has that nice valve sound in a convenient, small package. No reverb though so you’ll need outboard effects.

      samatza Which is the Tonestack Frenquency Of the Alembic fb?

    • @samatza
      @samatza  4 роки тому

      Sorrow 81 this is where it gets interesting, depending on the settings the centre frequencies move around a lot. There is a bit of info here alembic.com/club/messages/393/15734.html
      It’s interesting that as you change settings you can hear change in the response curve but it’s always musical.
