- This is the finale of the Isetta Mini series renovation we did, if you didn't watch them I will post the link to the playlist at the end.
This Isetta went from low mile psychedelic charmer in the 60's to parked on display in an office tower as decor.. and finally stored away in a dusty basement.
First drive in over 30 years! what a charming little car :)

Alex, you are just as busy as a beaver. I envy your energy and talent. Keep entertaining us! God Bless You and your family! ❤❤🎃🎃🎃🎃
Seriously, I don't think I have seen anyone else so multi-talented while multi-tasking. Impressive
To see such a tall man get out of such a small car! 🤣😂🤣 Well done getting it working. 😁
I loved the fact that you can get under a car and get dirty and greasy and fix a problem but yet are concerned enough to decorate with suitcases so it looks cute!!! I am in awe!! loL
Funny right.
🥰🥰🥰
Alex, you're awesome. How do you have time to restore cars, buildings, run a store, search for antiques and restore your home and spend time with your lovely family? You're just amazing.
You’re my hero Alex, creative, mechanical, crafty and completely masculine. You are a fine example of the contemporary man. I have never learned how to work on a car, I can put oil and water in or change a battery and that’s where I draw the line. I’m fascinated by your many talents and your openly sharing everything with us.
HOW do you know so much about everything?? A true Renaissance Man.
Amazing you got that running after 35 years. Coming down the road it reminded of Mr Bean and his little car. Your knowledge of antiques and fixing old cars is amazing.
Thanks for rescuing this little guy and bringing it back to life. 👍
Great job Alex. You should paint a key chain on the back. Lol
If not for the headlights, the back of this car looks like the front. The luggage rack helps people on the road to see it better. We had one of these when I was a kid and we lived in Ulm, Germany. It went fast and fit great through the narrow cobble roads in town! 🚓🚓🚓
You really are a jack of all trades, Alex. Is there anything you can't do? You are one of a kind. 😊💜
Thank you so much for the video!
Have one of these in my garage! It was renewed in 1983, driven for 1000 km and left to wait better days. Now, I am again at the beginning, must bring everything in order as not to kill the engine...
It’s probably just as well that you have luggage on top to stop it from taking off in high winds!! Great video Alex!!
I'm feeling really envious of your neighbors getting to see so many awesome things happen and all in person. I've never considered myself a nosy neighbor but I would turn into one if I lived by you. lol. I love your videos and I'm so happy that you make them.
It’s like an egg hatching to see you stepping out if it! It’s too cute!
I just saw one of these going down the road in northern MN a week ago ! Now I know what it was thanks to you !
If Mustie1 has taught me anything about old engines it is that any carb that has been sitting for more than a few years needs a complete disassembly and cleaning. Good luck with this cool little car!
It must be an adventure for your neighbours Alex. They must be thinking on a weekly basis " I wonder what quirky cool stuff Alex has bought today!" 😀
I saw that little bitty car coming with the opera music, and just broke out laughing!
That music was great that you added in there! I can just see your neighbors shaking their heads saying "there goes Alex with another new car". lol
@10:20 "this truly is a ridiculous car" 😄❤ and the music made me giggle a little. So cute!! Love this car!! Fun to see! And you driving it!! Thanks for sharing. 😊
It seems there's virtually nothing you can't do! And because you're filming to share with us, most everything you accomplish is with one hand! You seem like a true problem solver at heart who isn't afraid of a challenge. I'm even more impressed at your patience and persistence. Thank you for sharing!
Hi Alex! ❤️ That car is jus too cute!! Loved the music with the vintage style footage 👍💞
That wee car is adorable. I just love it - it is so zippy. I drive a little red and white Mini Cooper, so this car makes me very happy. But whew it is so tiny!!!!!
Hello from Cologne Germany, you bring child memories back to me. 50 years ago many of these BMW Isetta drove here in Germany. Thank you for these memories☺.
Thanks for watching!
She’s a happy little car now zipping along nicely well done.
The selection of music for the maiden voyage was awesome!!!!
Great job Alex! It's so nice to have some knowledge about the different vehicles so that you don't have to pay out a huge chunk of money to get a simple thing that you are capable of fixing! We had a family friend that actually owned 2 of them over several years. He was a tall & large man that was not too quick to get in & out! We used to tease him that it was his version of a riding lawnmower! Thanks for the great update and bringing us along on the first ride in 35yrs!
You could keep this car in the backseat of the Cadillac in case it breaks down, so you can get home! ;-)
I’ve always wanted a BMW Isetta! I love those little cars! 🖤
When I was in high school in the early 70's in Woodstock Ontario, a man who lived near the school drove one of these to work every day. It was a novelty back then, too! Fun to see you bring one to life again.
Couldn’t wipe the smile off my face during the whole ride. Cool car!
I love that thing! But, it totally sounds like you're driving around my lawn mower 😂
Congratulations on your small but splendid collection of vintage cars, this little BMW is a small work of art
Congratulations, Alex! Cute little vehicle...loved the musical accompaniment. Thanks for the ride. :-D
You have the energy of a toddler, always on the go. I don't know how you do it. You always have several projects going at once. I would be too claustrophobic in that car.
What a cute little car. It had me laughing just at the size difference driving on the street to other cars. It reminds me a lot of Ststeve Urkel car.
Really neat car, I love the interior.
Too cute for words! It looks like a car made for your daughter Allie! Are you sure she wouldn't like Santa to leave it for her under the Christmas tree? LOL!!!
Watching this car does make a person smile. x
This car is so cute! The two seats are pretty optimistic though 😅
Hey Alex, Great job! Glad you were able to get it going and drive it around! The garage is looking good and the music added a lot, lol! Thanks for sharing!
I know that is the cutest car I've ever seen in my life! I just love it! Well done on the restore, Alex. I'm continuously amazed by your talents...in all venues!
Amazing car. I have always loved these Isetta's. Alex, I'm also so impressed by your ability to problem solve and get this thing running. Well done sir!
Yes yes yes the absolutely correct music!
I am so impressed with your knowledge of how things work!
This video is so funny. You were like a giant driving a car. OMG i was laughing seeing you getting into the car. 🤣 anyway, when you said it was cute, i think i was more than cute. It was extremely adorable. Good job sir!
Wow, I was surprised where the door was!
That is a Mr. Bean car if I've ever seen one! Or maybe George Jetson's earth car;) Good on you for getting it going!!
Every time you get in that car, I crack up. You look crammed in there.😂
Absolutely love this little car. So glad you were able to get the parts. Would love something like that to get around . Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
I'm so happy it's running. You looked so funny getting out and then the TaDA! . gesture! Great! Looking forward to more little drives around town in it. Thanks. So CUTE. :)
I love that you see the potential to bring these older unconventional cars back to life and the snow falling is beautiful, puts me in a Christmas kinda mood....
Your neighbors must get a real kick out of watching the assortment of treasures come and go.
Thinking the same thing as I watched him drive it. Would be so cool to be his neighbor. I'd be out there helping video, clean cars, or whatever. Anything to hang out with a cool UA-cam celebrity.
@@4thegloryofthelord I was thinking the same thing. I thought one of the neighbors had an old looking car too, then I remembered that Alex got that truck looking car too as a delivery vehicle for the store.
@@4thegloryofthelord it would ne cool to be like Alex. Always on the hunt for new treasures. What a life
You really dwarf that car when you get out of it lol Reminds me of a clown car at a circus lol
Hard work and diligence pays off. Thanks for sharing. Cool car.
Love all the life you bring to tomorrow from the died dusty of yesterday Thanks Alex 🤘
Such a cute car :-) Alex, how do you know so much about everything??!? You amaze me with your knowledge!
A lot of this was like speaking a different language to me because I know nothing about cars, haha, BUT this was nice and educational. Thank you! What a groovy, neato looking little car! :)
Ah, the Baby Beamer is tooling down the road. Awesome.
Should get a second one for the other foot 😂👍 love the car congrats on the first test jog 👍
Kevin Davidson LOL
All Isettas came with a sunroof which is critical for safety reasons because if you hit something in front there is no other way to escape. The bucket seats are also not original, they all came with a single bench seat. Great video, really enjoyed it.
That is just too funny Alex being able to lift and move the car like that. I absolutely love the name of the store isettas R Us. Every time you say that all I can think of is the toy store here in the States. LOL
put a luggage rack on the trunk of the Caddy, and you can carry it with you as a backup car. lol
Ha!!!! Brilliant!
It's the grandma of smart cars....
@@julier.1902 I actually saw something like that once. They built this super long limo, then built a mini-limo out of ... I think it was a couple of Mini-coopers. The big limo carried it, and even had a way to put it on the ground. Just in case the limo quit or they needed a shorter car to get into a tight space.
Omg that’s hilarious!!!
@@nanachick05 yet true the world's longest actually carried a helicopter.
It is such a cute little car - needs a big key in back to wind it up! lol
Hi Alex, I would like to say congratulations on all of your achievements. I started watching you when you started to restore the Potter’s House. Watching your videos helped the pain go away. What a great job you have done with that tiny car 🚗 Best Wishes to you and your family 🇦🇺👍xxx
I think I learned more in this video about car engines then I did in the entire quarter in my High School Pre-Driver’s license class! LOL Thanks Alex and such an adorable cute car! I’m guessing your oldest son is just a few years away from getting his Driver’s license. You should save it for him! ✨💖✨
I expect to see Mr. Bean any minute getting out of that car
Nus more like Steve Urkel Jamall white from Family Matters
@@thewickednetwork7667 : Agreed ! :)
😂Omg that's what I was thinking about too
This is more like the Reliant Regal Mr. Bean always ran off the road when he saw it.
Hi Alex, for the next time, with the plummers thread sealer, Always go with the thread, so turn it right, not the other way, it might just unwrap if its turned the wrong way, love the car btw!!!
Hehe, noticed that, too, at 12.50, watched it longer to see if he showed which way the fitting tightened.
Agree with Wim, also plumbers sealer (Teflon tape) is used as a lubricant not a sealant. It allows you to tighten down the threads without binding.
Love your Isetta, it was meant for people like me 5ft and under. Will look good next to your store. Awesome car.
To save you possible trouble, next time you use the plumbers tape wrap it the direction the thing you screw on goes on. That will keep it from bunching up and only use three rounds. Have been enjoying your videos for a long time now, thank you for them.
You should go on Jay Leno's garage with this car. I think he'd get a kick out of it and I'd love to see him pour himself inside and drive it.
@Mark Stevens - yeah, not all Harry's dogs seem to be barking up the same tree..
When you pulled up in front of your house I was afraid it might slip through the sewer grate. LOL It sure is tiny.
In 1967 I saw one of these parked in front of a house on Malmstrom AFB, Great Falls, Montana. We would give it an eyeballing on our walk to school. Always wanted a ride in it!
You are pretty smart getting that car rolling along, once a tune up, it will be so cool!! Can’t believe how small they are!! Seriously though I would be afraid to drive it being so small!!
I’m absolutely delighted you’ve got her going again.
I have memories of seeing these on the streets in the U.K. in the mid 1960s, certainly not a lot beyond that date, not regularly.
We always referred to them as “bubble cars” I had a blue plastic toy “bubble car”. My older brother enjoyed playing with my toys, so I often ended up with boys’ toys somehow.
Hello Alex. A very nice car. Thanks for sharing and be well.
As an i3 owner...always been obsessed with this car!!!!!!
I'm applauding!!! You did it!
Been waiting since u gave the hint on open house. Thanks. It’s so interesting to see one of these things
its a crazy little car!
In my dream life, I would own lots of cars like this and others - they're so awesome! Thanks so much for taking us on your fix-it journeys! I can't wait to see this little gem completely fixed and running next summer. I love the way the carpet is all around on the inside, so I hope you find beautiful new carpeting to replace what's there.
It puts me in mind of a ride at an amusement park for some reason.
That is just the silliest car EVER! I love little things, but driving that would probably scare me. I am in Texas after all. Oh, and you have SNOW!!! As a nearly 66 year old woman with pain issues, I'm now praying for no snow - EVER!
Haha. Alex I caught myself sitting here fluttering the gas pedal for you while I watched the video.
Oh how I want this car or at least the luck you have in finding the best stuff ever. Take care.
Looked like a toy hot wheel coming down the street. Made me smile. lol
Good to see it finally going! Well done :) There was an Isetta featured on the historic vehicles club magazine we get last month haha, thanks to you I knew what it was!
A man of many talents! Just be careful in that tiny car!
A love this little thing. So cute. I have a little dog and I am an old little lady. Is a perfect match for us.
I'm happy to see your Isetta running. Very cute!
How cute! There is no end to your talents!
I bet all your neighbors expect to see you with all the far out cars you always have. I really like to watch your videos, you never know what you’re going to see.
Yay! Such a cute car. A man of many talents. Thanks for sharing.
Yay, more car videos! I like all of your stuff but I especially like the automotive content (have a small channel myself, lol). My dad has a classic Jaguar e-type (1961) we plan to restore. Love classic cars! Keep up the good work!
If you ever want to sell the style I’m looking for one :)
You have done a great job!
All I can do is laugh see that thing coming down the street. The Music I am sure helped with that humor.
Lovely Little Car, LOVE IT!!! BRAVO!
I love how ridiculous and impractical this thing is! I will say though I'm a smidge disappointed we didn't get to hear a horn doot :)
What a fun little vehicle.
