You don’t need to go to a stargazer to reset your weapons durability. Just use the arm wheel whenever your weapon has lost some durability and the meter will be full again.
And the good part is that its relatively safe to use during boss fights, because the boss won't close the distance for a while to accommodate for the animation
Nah, this is honestly the most excited i’ve been about a souls like because it looks like it may actually feel like a souls game. Which is what I’m always craving lol, Please do a series on this, mythymoo man

Dang, I've been thinking up some concepts for a game where you play as a puppet. I didn't even know that this game existed aside from hearing Mythy mention it once a long time ago. What a coincidence

When they released that video with uninterrupted gameplay last year it still looked a bit rough, but playing the Demo really shows that they polished everything up a lot. It feels pretty damn good to play, the fighting is satisfying, the world seems interesting to explore and it runs very smoothly in terms of performance including proper implementations of FSR2 & DLSS~ I can't freaking wait for this to come out!
I was so excited when this game was first announced and playing the demo I’m even more excited it’s insanely hard even when you’re pretty well powered up but I’m loving the challenge and the rage I get from getting destroyed so easily and the sense of accomplishment I feel from finally beating the boss that was crushing me and weirdly enough as a mainly strength build I’ve found my stamina is even more vital in this and that extra little stamina means the difference between getting away from the attack and dying
Fun facts: Venigni might be a reference to Roberto Benigni, an actor who played an adaptation of Pinocchio; the name of the butler Polendina is a reference to "Polentina", a nickname given to Maestro Geppetto because of his blonde hair.
Really enjoyed playing this demo and cannot wait for the release. I agree that the only thing off was the dodge. Felt like you have to dodge earlier than you should to make it work correctly.
I've been looking forward to this game since I'd heard about it. I hope you'll make a series out of this so I'll have some Myth to watch while I'm still running around in Hyrule.
The amount of similarities this game has to bloodborne and dark souls is kinda ridiculous, however that being said this game looks amazing and has a surprisingly fluid combat system. The 2 bosses in the demo are also pretty difficult but this game seems like something I would enjoy playing more of
this game got much better the more I played it. Almost to the 2nd boss of the demo and it feels great. I am worried about the enemy variety as it was Steelrising's biggest issue, only comparing them because they're similar.
You could frankly just keep feeding me steampunk Victorian souls-likes every 6 months and I'd keep buying them. I'm so in the pocket for this. Especially since these games are more like older souls games before DS3 where the combat is slower and more methodical.
@@jurtheorc8117 it was fun but it became really dull as you fight the same 5 or so enemies in every area. The dlc was great, I highly recommend that but everything else sort of fell flat.
@@2fast4dad I see. Didn't even know there was a DLC for Steelrising. Pity to hear about it getting dull, but thank you for taking the time to reply. Steelrising's art direction does seem like it's among the strongest aspects of the game. A recent game by name of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is definitely worth looking into as well, it's got solid gameplay and great art direction.
@@jurtheorc8117 I really enjoyed Steel Rising. The enemy's may not have had a ton opf variety but the combat had depth and difficulty does ramp up. So I found a ton of enjoyment all the way till the end with just getting better at the combat. Also exploring historical france was also really neat in the same way AC game will emmerse you in a historical setting.
So when your weapon reaches red, half, whatever, press down on the d-pad and use the thing under the health to increase it’s durability so it doesn’t break. Don’t know if you’ve figured that out or not. You don’t have to constantly rest at the star.
Hey, myth, forgive me if you know this already, but P has the grinder on him that you can use to restore the durability on your weapons to full on the spot anytime without having to rest at a Stargazer. It takes a bit of time, though, but since you can do it anytime, you can just use it whenever. There is also an item that instantly restores your weapon durability.
this demo is so good! i’ve been waiting for this game. i went rapier too. also, if you use the emote the old lady gave you in front of her, she reacts to it!
Immediately downloaded the demo when it was announced yesterday, it is so good and it has that Victorian theme that i love in games such as Bloodborne ❤❤❤
So I've just finished the demo myself. There's a few takeaways I really hope the developers take on board from y'know forums and such. It's obviously heavily inspired by Bloodborne and it's very well optimised because it runs flawlessly. However, unless it's unlocked later in game, the dodge timing is horrendous and they need to improve that a little, not much just tweak it. The parry system is great if a little bit on the slow side. By that I mean the animation locks on deflect and your character just stands there and will take heavy damage if the enemies combos are more than 3 or 4 hits because parries/deflects use stamina. Even perfect ones where you time it perfectly, take no damage, your stamina will be depleted. Early game that is absurd. Boss damage is fine except the last boss of the demo, he hits hard and fast, which again is fine but the damage from a mistimed deflect or just straight up attack is too high. It took me the better part of 30 mins to deal with him and it wasn't because he was difficult, just frustrating. There are non stop attacks after his phase transition and even after setting up a riposte, he won't stop attacking, thus robbing you of the damage. All in all, the game is great and a lot of fun and I look forward to it but some of the animations need to be sped up a miniscule amount because the amount of unnecessary damage the slow animations of the player character cause needs to be addressed imo.
Huge bloodborne influence in this, but that's not a bad thing at all. After beating the demo, I'm 100% sold on this game. Can't wait to play it in September!
@@yeetus568 It's absolute dog water, unless you upgrade it. Don't think keeping the upgrade for it after 4-6 hours as a good idea, would just make peeps needlessly annoyed. Block/parry is good, but it's still a bit clunky and needs some work

I'm only halfway through the video so maybe you figure it out, but you can't dodge red attacks, you have to perfect parry them and you can use the grinder to repair your weapon infinitely so you don't have to keep coming back to the stargazer

I think it’s gonna do the nier thing where on a second playthrough or by what choices you make you start to understand the bosses and it’s all tragic backstories and stuff
I just hope this isn't the final product because there is some jank that needs fixing and its the Dodging its very very slow its pretty much another form of a perry you have to be right on point or you will get hit also the delay from a attack to a dodging is HUGE in these type games. In a souls game the gameplay has to be smooth they did really good in the combat i think really my only issue is that dodging doesn't feel smooth and its very slow and thats with 40% weight capacity i don't know if it works like the heavier the capacity the slower you are but if so it needs a little bit more tweaking. I'm still very much excited for this game tho

I've been fighting this boss for over 2 hours. I'm pretty sure the problem is that the dodge range is too small. If you are close enough to attack, you are too class to dodge the boss wide swings. It swings too wide and reaches too far, so it hits even when I die, then it hits again while my character is stunned, then I die helplessly.
1- block/perfect parry 2- can upgrade dodge to double dodge after chapter 2 I hear ya. Although this game is an homage to Bloodborne, it plays more like a combination of Sekiro/Bloodborne/dark souls. Even if you can’t get the perfect party timing down initially, keep trying & if needed time your party slightly early & *hold* the parry/block button (not just tap) to ensure to block is effective (and can then regain chip damage through subsequent immediate attack via regain mechanic). The larger weapons will be more effective at blocking (%). Also, the higher your vigor, I believe the more chip damage you can recover in this way. I truly believe the early game wants you to definitely use the perfect parry/block mechanic > dodging. But dodging becomes *much* more viable/effective after its upgrade to double dodge. Amazing demo… Hyped for Sept 2023🔥💪🏻😎
