- Hello there... Welcome to my friendly Afrikaans classroom! You're back in high school and I'll be teaching you about the intensiewe vorm (for purely relaxation purposes). Falling asleep in class is totally allowed :) As always, please forgive my terrible pronunciation. Enjoy and sweet dreams :)

Ruby Z.M. I am spanish and I tried learn a bit dutch some years ago (very hard for a spanish! 😅 Trust me!) Now this sounds familiar to me so I can imagine it is easy to you to understand it. So interesting and beautiful language!

I also have a understanding of dutch,i don't know what a few words mean,but common sense is useful in such situations
My first language is Dutch, so if someone speaks afrikaans I can understand it well, i find it so cool

There are also speakers of Afrikaans in Australia, Belgium, Botswana, Canada, Germany, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the UK, the USA, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Did you know Afrikaans is also called Cape Dutch (or Kitchen Dutch). Ek praat Afrikaas, Duits en Engels. Not a lot of Afrikaans ASMR on UA-cam

Even as an English speaker there’s so many similarities, and depending on which regional accent you have mine being a Brummie (Birmingham) it’s really easy to pick up! Very informative video! :)
PS: The word Piepklein is very close to the old English slang word Pipsqueak meaning a person with a very small stature and height. ;)

It's funny to me how many people are like "OMG I SPEAK DUTCH AND I CAN UNDERSTAND YOU" like... Guys... It IS Dutch. It started with the Dutch settlers. It's basically become a strong Dutch dialect. 😅

I didn't know if you were taking requests, but I thought you might like
to try doing a video as a masked ASMR Superhero. The premise would go
something like the this. The viewer, would be injured or distressed by a
villain, but you would show up to help, using your super powers of
ASMR. Throughout the video, the viewer would ask who you really were,
but you would tell them how important it is that you wear your mask, and
keep your identity a secret, but, at some point, you would trust the
viewer enough, to unmask yourself, and show them who you really are. I think
it could be really fun, and you would do an awesome job. Keep up the
great work.

There are people who give US citizens grief about slavery and what not.... What little do they know (and they never talk about the root). The Dutch and the english took over their county and their way of life. For some reason, us here in the United States, have to be sorry? Hmmmmm.... Where did it start?
I don’t think the blame game is helpful for a subject so impactful and sensitive. For what it’s worth, colonialism has received plenty of “grief”
