S/o to all the hood dads out there! We are making history, I grew up without a father or father figure and I’m a damn good father to my kids. I ain’t missing shit, nothing is more important than my kids. 💯💯💯
About to be a first time dad in 5 months. Can't wait to be a great one
Black dad's have been here since slavery. I'm glad for u but ayee I had a dad and my dad had a dad who ran moonshine and before him he had a dad. Black men not being there for there kids is not all that common.
@@TheBasher-_-I agree. They are present. I think they may not have been a “father” compared to what is projected as normal. I tend to think that they did fatherhood to their degree or understanding. No perfect dads. But we need to appreciate fathers more. The pressure is high and many get treated as if they’re not doing enough. Many beat themselves and risk their lives striving hard in one way or another. So unless you just flat out disown or provide a child and not abuse them, 👏🏾
@Tunechi65 Congratulations on your new blessing 🙌🏾. I pray you have a happy healthy baby 🙏🏾
Kids ain’t all that, ngl
I was single dad with full custody. The best moments of my life were when we all lived together. Sometimes I struggled financially, but we made it through. I am big on fatherhood

I'm a single father of three girls and I would never ever ever ever say "Im not really big on fatherhood". Man what! nah. My kids depend on me, I kiss those beautiful faces everyday! I'm a parent for life.

And I know they appreciate you!
DAMN RIGHT! 🤷🏾♂️🙏🏾
And there is still a group of women who will hear him say this and be just fine with him getting them pregnant, then hop online and cry about him being an absent father. This is the red flag all his baby mama's ignored right here.
They not crying, they just want that check and they will raise the kids just like ALOT of women in communities like youngboys already do.
#checkbabies
This is why i don't have sympathy for any of them. This is what tge culture wants. So this is what they shall get. They want that tough street dude 24/7. Hey it is what it is. Not my problem.
Not his frist baby mother nisha or starr he was poor when he got pregnant he was famous nisha his frist baby mother say he got her pregnant at 13year old she had they frist child at 14year old and starr his baby mother say they were in relationship for 3year the fame came after
@patriciajemmottjemmott3162 just because he wasn't famous yet doesn't mean he wasn't somebody in his city or wasn't rich. A lot of these streets dudes were rich way before the fame and were celebs in their states and people knew who they were from street activities. The street validation is just as powerful as fame. Chicago knew who durk and von were years before they were famous, Jeezy was a millionaire before rap due to BMF, 50 cent was rich before fame and NY knew who he was years before we did, 21 savage was a millionaire before rap fame and ATL knew him as a heavy drug dealer in the streets who sold to all the rappers and the list goes on and on. You don't have to be known world wide to be popular somewhere or be rich.

Most of his baby mamas don’t let him see his kids
*This Was A Well Deserved Donkey 🫏*
I think he made a mistake with wording his answer I think what he was trying to say was he’s not so much a father figure to he’s kids because of he’s music career as most rappers are this what happens when they don’t tell him what to say in interviews

"You HAVE to be BIG on fatherhood!!!!!"
"You're not doing it big at all if you're not big on fatherhood."
I agree that Black fatherhood is important but those last two quotes are working against it. No one HAS to be BIG on fatherhood…and it IS possible to be doing it big and not be big on fatherhood. Saying things that are CLEARLY false undermines your ability to achieve your supposed goal. It’s like telling kids that smoking weed one time will lead to them being addicted to narcotics. We all know those extreme statements don’t work and can even push people in the opposite direction.
how can access any of your research Melissa.
This statement was made with a lot of ignorance, which is crazy considering ur a researcher. I can elaborate if u'd like
How much does a black fatherhood researcher make yearly? Lol.
And also, are you single? You fine.
So it's so rare for blacks to maintain their seeds we need research on the topic like Bigfoot? Lol still in the jungles mentally
I was not big on motherhood when I was 24 and I had 3 kids. It shifted fast because I naturally bonded with mine and have been the solid parent through their lives. I think he just is young and has a lot of work to do. The sad part is that the damage is always being done because time doesn’t stop. Hopefully the kid will be supported and guided by others that can foster where he is lacking. He is not the only one. It’s evident in how many young parents are seen every day on social media or in real life. 🙏🏽 I love being a parent and realized what the privilege and blessing it is.

I hate when Charlemagne talks about the development of the frontal cortex by 25 and it being the reasoning for somebody then making viable decisions. Some people still do not mature and make the right decisions even after their frontal cortex has developed. Some people still have growing up to do. There are people out here that are still making the absolute wrong decisions. So what do you mean?
I agree, it’s always used as a cop out
Yes, this! There's a huge psycho-social component to our cognitive, behavioral, personality, and emotional development that is not entirely dependent on our biological maturation. If one is nurtured properly in all of these domains, one doesn't have to have a fully developed frontal cortex in order to make good decisions. Biological determinism is not it.
