Hey everyone, I am happy to bring you the latest free to watch tutorial! 30 minutes to get you and your Wacom pen all warmed up for the next big tutorial releases coming out next week . The Sword and the Mace tutorial - which will combine the best out of the world of hardsurface with organic and will provide you with powerful ZBrush skills. Hope you enjoy it! :) Cheers, Tim
hi Tim! one tip about the Dynamesh. you can just hold CTRL and click&drag on empty space to rebuild the mesh instead of clicking Dynamesh button all the time.
Very cool beginner tutorial - really looking forward to the upcoming stuff. I bet you know that you can re-dynamesh by dragging an mask outside the model without having a mask. Maybe sometimes a bit faster than clicking on the Dynamesh button again. Can't wait for the next ones! Cheers!
Absolutely... now that I published it I think I should have shown that and also the ghost mode. However I feel like I covered most of the things that initially confused me when I was new to Zbrush and also.. I see that tutorial more like the essential warm up before the release of the free to follow MACE blockout and zbrush part (where these things are being shown). That's why all my tutorials center around creating some real object from A to Z. I think that's just the best way of really learning. Doing by learning. Intro guides can do their parts but will never be able to go deep down the rabbit hole. Similar to how I feel about learning languages. You can go on duolingo and download as many apps as you want but the best way of learning is to go to the country where they speak that language and practice it there under real life conditions :)
@@ChamferZone Hi Tim, there was trim brush in video which you installed, where can we find that brush? I checked in UA-cam and Google it showing different trim brush, not that one which was in video. I really like that brush for adding cool futristic panel look.
It's called direct folders. www.softpedia.com/get/System/File-Management/Direct-Folders.shtml Been using it for years. Maybe there's already a better alternative to it by now but not that I ever needed one.
Are all tutorials going to be freely uploaded on youtube or will you have a paid option with more in depth stuff as well? I'm still trying to learn zmodeler so that would be really helpful. Also great video man, always happy to learn from you these part 4 years.
Hello Jags, glad to hear it! :) And to answer your question. First of all.. on day of the tutorial release I will also put out two chapter trailers that will exactly tell you what's in the tutorials but to already give an insight to it: Both are paid and in depth tutorials but the MACE will be partly free. The sword tutorial is the lengthy and more in depth tutorial because it has both organic and hard surface elements which take its time to block and sculpt out. The Mace tutorial is shorter and you can follow the Block out in Max and Highpoly part in ZBrush for free. I will also put a bundle on the store that has both tutorials with a bit of a discount. Sorry but Zmodeler is not a part of the tutorials because I use 3ds Max to get the initial blockout work done which we then import into ZBrush to do the highpoly (and we also later export it back to Max to do the retopo). At the moment I am still editing and voice narrating the videos but approximately these are the numbers when I release it next week. Sword tutorial: Blockout in Max - 1 hour. Zbrush - 6 hours Lowpoly modeling and Unwrap in Max - 4 hours Substance Painter texturing - 2.5 hours Marmoset Renders - half an hour Mace Tutorial: Blockout 1 hour (free to watch) Zbrush 1 hour (free to watch) Lowpoly and Unwrap 1 hour Substance Painter 1 hour
This is all nice but I got an issue with my tablet. I got an Ugee M100L tablet. I'm trying to finish the mace tutorial and when I try to use my tablet with the Zadd and the Zsub holding the shift and the alt key it's not showing the straight green line so the line comes straight, well nothing shows and all my line are crocked. What can I do in this situation. Thanks.
Hey bro, not a bad tutorial, but I think I'm going to be one of your very few critics :) Oftentimes you will perform an action and then describe it a second or two later. I frequently have to stop the video, roll back a bit, and replay the video, ignoring the voice-over so I can see what you actually did. Otherwise, not too bad. Learned a few things. Thanks.
hm... so you are not supposed to keep on holding shift. Click down (or press down with the wacom pen) while holding shift. Then tip down on another area and you will see the connection line. Then just confirm with another click on it.
ChamferZone so to make sure, shift+pen, let go of shift and move my pen? And the line forms? I’m not in a place to do so now but wanted to ask anyways XD
@@dragonrider0079 Yes, click to start your line and then hold down shift and drag it over to your desired area! It might take a bit of practice but its essential to get the hang out of it. One of the most important actions to memorize. It will come natural to you after a while!
@@ChamferZone ok I got the hang of it, I wanted to make sure this is good though I use ZBrushCore currently and to get the level of detail your trim got I had to go and divide my mesh to level 9, is that normal? Sorry for all the questions I am pretty new to this, other than that I am all good and I'm really happy to have learned so much! :D
Hello, modern engines and current generation of hardware and consoles got very forgiving when it comes to higher polycount but we still need to be mindful to check optimized stuff into the game. What's really eating away on the performance are texture resolution and post processing etc. Lowpoly models need to be rigged and animated and can't just consist out of millions of polygons.
Why do you keep on repeating things that are so obvious. OK so once you have the project display objects in 3d then keep on saying you are in 3d? are the tutorials for people with super bad memory and poor vision?

The trim tool doesn't do anything when I hold shift just makes a ton of messy geometry, anyone got anything for me?

Why are polygon models in many triple a games downgraded so much?
