Great video! LinkedIn is already super underrated in my opinion, but you just highlighted a bunch of features that make it even more valuable. Well done!
Hi Jeff, Thanks for all the nice videos that you have created. Love it so much! I agreed with you that the career break is the trickiest portion as everyone has different perception about this. I have been laid off recently and I do face the challenge to pull the traffic from the recruiter to my LinkedIn profile as compared to previously. Anyway, will keep follow you from YT and LinkedIn! All the best!
Hi Jeff, more than the video content, I like the way you present the video in front of a camera. From the start of the videos till they end - your energy level stays 110% and this is much needed in this world now.
Jeff, I want to thank you for taking the time to answer to many of your viewers comments. Just became a subscriber. I think doing so sets you apart from others who don't do that. It's no wonder you have so many subscribers :). Question for you, in the career break section, you mention that it's preferable to add a position that you are looking for under the "add experience" section. You then mention to list LinkedIn as the company name. Is there a reason that you would want to list LinkedIn as the company name? Wouldn't it confuse employers thinking that you actually worked for LinkedIn? thanks again!
Jeff - I always walk away with actionable tips from your videos. I still use your email formats to communicate effectively! Thank you so much for putting out all this great info!
Thanks, Jeff. This is probably one of the most beneficial and condensed videos that showcase great features/opportunities on LinkedIn. I appreciate enlightening how to message anyone for free and the LinkedIn Career Explorer Tool. These two tips helped me to discover a potential contact at a company that I am interested in applying.
If this video had a million views then this INCREDIBLE video wouldn’t be a “cheat code”. I mean what in heavenly world is going on right now. This video is BETTER than I thought. Soooo glad I watched.
I learnt so much more from this video, that I didn't know about. Awesome content @Jeff Su. What advice would you give for those in early 40s stay at home mom, transitioning back into the workforce with transferable experience.
My pleasure Cassie! I would start by networking with professionals instead of relying just on LinkedIn features! Feel free to check my networking videos out 😁
One of the best videos i have seen on Linkedin !! Thank you for sharing this. Do you have a separate video on using Linkedin Premium (beyond a normal user like) Or Linkedin Sales Navigator (beyond using the standard filters available?)
Great tips, Jeff! I thought I was pretty familiar with LinkedIn by this point but it looks like there's always new things to learn! I, for one, never knew that I'm interested thing was a feature :o Dex sounds really helpful! Gone are the days of spreadsheets for managing your network 😂
Hi Jeff! This video is awesome, thank you for making it. I instantly subscribed after watching it. One question: It looks like skill assessments are gone for now. Do you know if 12 skill endorsements is still the amount we need to rank higher in recruiters' search results?
Hello Jeff! Love your videos, they are super helpful! quick question - I have been on a career break since August 2022, I moved countries and had a baby in this period and am now looking for opportunities in the States. I have currently added a full time parenting break on my LinkedIn profile to explain the gap (since I was literally just taking care of my baby). Is this something you recommend doing or is there a better way to handle this break on LinkedIn?
That's a great way to handle it! You can take it a step further and show how you've been taking care of the baby with quantifiable results to add a bit of personality to your profile (e.g. Optimized diaper changing process and decreased time needed by 20%) 😉
Really awesome video. I wonder how you do your research, especially with features that may be complex or not so apparent, hard to predict their effectiveness (not just features on LinkedIn, but any tool)?
Thank you so much for this video Jeff. I wanted to know can I apply the same 'Career Break' process on my Resume as well or can I write what I have been up to since my last job, does this then pop up first on my resume or?
Hey Jeff great content like always! I've been putting a lot of efforts that you recommend and still not getting any job offers. It's quite frustrating and I'm starting to give up on seeking a new role. Any other tips that I might be able to try or do you recommend? Thanks
It depends on where you're stuck in the process. Are you not getting the first round of interviews? Then networking and your resume are the problems. Are you not passing the interviews? Then interviewing is your problem etc.
As always amazing content Jeff!!🙏 Just a quick one - won't it be problematic in one way or another for us to use LinkedIn for that creative tip alternative to the "Career Gap" feature?
@@JeffSu I just realised my wording may have not been clear enough🙈 I meant to use it as your "employer" - you know, because you aren't _actually_ working for them?
How do you get linkedin to stop sending job filter results that have security clearances? I have filters setup for "software developer" and "system engineer" but probably 80 to 90% of the filter results I get are unusable due to requiring a TopSecret clearance. This is because I live in central Maryland which has lots of that. I've sent suggestions to both indeed and linkedin requesting a way to filter those out but AFAIK it's not implemented yet.
I would NEVER send a connection request before engaging with their posts first or adding some sort of value beforehand (sending industry insights etc.)
I really loved the ''im interested in working with you in the future'' feature, but most LinkedIn pages don't have it. Maybe because they are in the non profit field. Any ideas?
