I think Allen hit their climax when they produced the adc organs, after that it’s all been crap and this organ is disappointing sounding is obviously electronic.
@@Richard-vq7ud ADC series Allen Digital Computer organs in the 1980s my church chose an ADC 5000 at the time their largest two-manual organ. This Protege not one of their better efforts-shame!
@@charlespatsky7060 thanks. I was playing a 1989 2 manuel Allen. It was ok, but honestly no organ sounds good in a church filled with carpet and padding. The best Allen i ever played was super old in my college auditorium. The acoustics were wonderful, and the old Allen had some kind of wind feature. As you pressed the stop tabs, it made a rushing wind sound. To me, it sounded better than all the modern digital organs.
Actually dead acoustics will make the best pipe organ sound bad. On the other hand, a 5 second reverb can make any organ sound magnifiscent. The most important stop on an organ is acoustics. Unfortunately, very few churches get this. Most pipe organs are in churches with completely dead acoustics.
@@Richard-vq7ud well, your description states AP 15 Protege being played. Only song I feel appropriate for Memorial Day but that's just me and my 45 year career as an organist, is America the Beautiful.
Happy memorial day to you too! Thank you for these!
