Laura, where you have a long stretch of planting to do, use two kneeling pads. You can place the unused one beside you as you go, then you don’t have to get up, just keep bringing the odd one over. That method doesn’t work everywhere but will save a little wear and tear on your body over time! And I’d say you have many more years in those beautiful gardens, everything is so beautiful!
I was thinking the exact same thing that her back must be killing her by the end of the day. As I got older I went more and more with perennials that just show up on their own and are easier to take care of and planted a lot less annuals. Laura has an enormous amount of energy 🤩🎉
I sure hope Samantha got the bad guys! Too cute. There is one thing I have learned from you that has improved my gardens appearance 10, 000 fold and that is the use of abundance! It has changed them forever.
Yes! That would be a great idea. They could even do a montage of monthly pics so we could see this particular spot as it progresses through the year. I’d love that. They could be done as ‘shorts’.
They have the videos you can look at to refer back to. They also do a mid Summer video and a late Summer video. Just take note of the title when they are planted.
That would be so hard to shoot from the same angle each time and to keep footage. It would almost require one of those trail cameras and wouldn’t look very nice.
Those two areas you planted look great (as does the rest of your garden). I love days where you've had rain overnight and it is still a bit overcast. Never a dull moment at your place between the kids and cats. Russell made me chuckle.
Ever since i started watching your channel. Its given me design insight into what colours and textures to incorporate. My biggest takeway is to think of lacey, blue, bold, green, red, grassy and gold/yellow foliage. Also ensure you have flowering most of the season and if it isnt doing it for you in one spot. Remove it and move it, replace and rehome. Thank you for re-inspiring mu garden journey.
Had to add another comment... I think after a rain is my favorite time to see a garden. It cleans the dust from everything and all the different colors just POP! Beautiful video today.
I really love that your cats have their own everchanging jungle to inhabit, the pop of orange cat next to the pineapple fountain is just purrfect to the eye of this cat garden lover,
I think most People get carried away how Beautiful the Garden is and we forgot to hit the “like” channel every time. I am guilty of it too.. now making changes to My habit. I now Make it a habit to like the video to send appreciation to you Tubers for efford made… being following this channel for years. Love it ❤
WOW Laura, it’s sooo evident that "Divine Grace" has flourished through your endeavors, blessing the work of your hands. The depth of your understanding of the diverse array of flowers is truly remarkable, and has me pen and paper ready! Your property is a testament to beauty, and I know it's a sight to behold in person. It fills me with inspiration, and I yearn to envelop my own home in such splendor. Although the current economic climate has tightened my purse strings, the mere thought of such beauty brings joy to my heart. Your wonderful videos are a beacon of inspiration. Thank you kindly. You and your family are indeed Blessed and Loved of God!
Love how Russell looks like he wants to be planted by the chicken coup under the fountain...lol Thanks Laura for brightening my day with your gardens and your complete knowledge of what you grow...Please never stop as my heart is invested
Fresh rain on a beautiful garden. It's just so beautiful. You can feel all the plants just soak it in, letting out a sigh of relief from the summer heat.
Oh my, those area are going to be glorious. Can't wait to see them in a few weeks when they really take off. The kids are so sweet and fun to see them come and go as they play and enjoy their summer. Have a blessed day everyone.
Not surprised that everything you planted today looks wonderful!! Russell had to have his screen time again today❤ He was so playful by the fountain, knocking down plants even😂 He is a character for sure His presence just adds an extra grounding to your videos🎉
It all looks spectacular. Russell my lil guy we love Russell here. Laura you have definitely made a statement with all your choices in plants and color. Can’t wait to see them all filling in.
It feels so nostalgic seeing the chicken coop area all done up again. Made me so happy to see this come together after a few seasons of change in this area. Love this channel!!
If you're seeing lots of swallowtails, you might consider planting a whole row of dill for the caterpillars. We did that every year as a kid and we raised hundreds of butterflies! They host on anything in the Apiaciae family, including parsley, Queen Anne's Lace and carrot, but they seem to really love the dill!
The area behind the chicken coop looks so nice! I love those smaller places in the garden. I always find small flowerbeds a bit more charming than vast areas. All flowers are pretty much attracting pollinators! This is something we read on the internet but generally all flowers attract pollinators and bugs. Some definitely more than others but I see many times people struggling to find flowers good for pollinators… Guys, buy any plant you want (or that is suitable for your area) and pollinators will come. Don’t worry thaaaaaat much!
I wish I could show you what artichokes look like when you dry them in a dark spot. I poke wooden skewers in the stems before drying, lay them on a rack in my basement then use them as accents in fall/winter arrangements outdoors for clients. Along with dried pomegranates and pine cones they really are beautiful!
Everything looks AMAZING!!!! You have GREAT CHOICES!! Benjamin is such a great help, and such a little cutie! And sweet little Samantha going after those bad guys! I hope you catch them Samantha❤
The pollinators gardens look spectacular! And the artichokes are awesome! They make such a statement. Benjamin is such a great helper and Samantha chasing bad guys is so sweet. Lovely video!🤗

You pick the most gorgeous plant combinations! Just when I think I see my new favorite, you do another bed and I’m like, “Nope! THIS is my favorite!” 🥰
It's all gorgeous!!! I can't wait to see it grow in. I vote for something white in the pots by the benches. It will be so bright with all the color all around. Do you guys like eating artichokes? The drapey roses look like something from an impressionist painting. What a gorgeous place to be!!!
I love it as you drive around or walk around your gorgeous gardens, you truly appreciate their beauty. Your comments, “Isn’t that pretty?” are just heartwarming. Thanks for sharing it all with us. 🩷💜
Your garden beds are looking very beautiful this year Laura. I am really enjoying your plantings set off by all your gorgeous evergreens, especially the box hedges. Loving it😍
Wow, beautiful combinations!!! Laura, hopefully you got to take a hot bath or a cool swim after all this hard work!!!! 👍🏻☀️🩷🌱🌱🌱 Your design of the parterre garden’s formality and the chicken coop’s cottage vibe side by side are just soooo stunning!
Even though you currently have big bare areas, these beautiful patches of flowers are the perfect touch to make you forget Mars! Your flowerbeds are just kind of bringing me to tears, they are so pretty. And then I see the kids and the cat and I am giggling! So fun to follow you every day every season!
Good morning, Laura ☕️ That auger sure does make the job a lot easier! I love mine and cannot imagine planting without one! I love all the colors and the Lemony Lace Elderberry’s are gorgeous!😍 Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈🐈
I found this channel 4/5 years ago. I was totally invested before you bought the south garden. I remember the first video I fell In love with was the hay rack video across the front of the house on the fence.. then I remember when you bought the south garden and you started planting the maples. I will always remember when I realized how educational and informative you are. I think this is the UA-cam channel I watch the most, and my partner and my friends always expect hearing about what you're updating because I'm always updating them about you. I will definitely stop by Andrews seeds. You've been such a huge influence on my education and design of gardens and outdoor spaces. I LOVE watching you and your family become one with nature and the total education of everyone you touch with your videos.
Beautiful combinations....as usual. You have a great eye for design. Loved watching Russel. Seeing/watching a happy cat just makes my day. He was "being a cat." Often, when my cats are acting needy and clingy (more like dogs) I find myself telling them "go be a cat!" I say, "the weather is beautiful outside, it's a great day to be a cat, so go be a cat!" LOL! I guess it's like telling kids to go play outside. Mine have microchip pet door, so they can go out anytime. Makes my life so much easier!
I love the flowers and instructions on how to plant them. Love how you decorated the chicken coop, and nothing is impossible to make our yard pretty all year round.
I discovered Gaura a few years ago (love its whimsical appearance and movement), and planted one near my small back porch area where I have coffee and watch Garden Answers M-F and Garden Highlights on Sunday, weather permitting (I live in a Cincy OH suburb). One of my favorite things about Gaura is watching the honey bees land on a flowering stem and go for an “amusement” type ride. Thanks for all your information and inspiration. Love seeing your ‘kidlets’ in your videos…..and Aaron too!!!
Every plant beautifully placed. This will be incredible! When all you see is a tail behind the fountain, you wonder what kind of giant worm that could be. Benjamin the helper, and Samantha, the Wonder Girl cameos are delightful. It is such a natural way for them to be included.
Everything you blend together is always so perfect! I love so much being a part of your journey. You have made me love gardening sooo much, and I have the prettiest garden beds around...😅 not to brag too much, but it's all thanks to you Laura 🩷💛💚💜
I totally agree that Lantana will take the heat in the black iron containers. I used to live in Florida and the lantana took the heat and drought at the edges of our neighbor’s orange grove. The flower beds are going to be beautiful!! Love the purple, pinks, blues and whites. 🌸👏🏻☺️
Laura, it looks likes like Samantha is getting so tall. I just love watching the kiddos play! ❤ The flower beds look gorgeous, and purple has never been my color! 😂
Yes Laura this is the most beautiful combination you choose and of course in the heat help the birds and the bees and all of the animals that sounds beautiful God bless you stay healthy be happy peace
Laura, you make it all look so easy! A word of caution to anyone using an auger: this weekend I nearly dislocated my left thumb while digging holes for some perennials using the 3” Laura auger. I had gloves on and loose material from my left glove/thumb caught on the upper shaft of the auger and twisted my thumb backwards before I realized what was happening. My thumb and hand are swollen and bruised today but nothing is broken. Just want to caution anyone to not wear gloves while using the auger!! 👎
BEAUTIFUL! We need a magazine called LAURA'S GARDENS showing everything labeled & in bloom. You are Amazing! Thank you for all the beautiful videos. Benjamin & Samantha Grace add so much beauty. ❤❤❤❤
The chicken coop is sooo stinkin cuuuute. Gosh it has really chang d over the years. I just love how you try with plants. I am breaking out of my comfort zone with new plants I have never grown before and I have been pleasantly surprised it's working. My flower beds are changing year by year and they are becoming more beautiful each year. I have done all of that with your knowledge and inspiration. I love Benjamins rolly Polly ben. Sooo cuuuute. I LOVE this idea. I've never used the kneeling pads before, usually just bend over, but that's getting harder too. I'm going to try your idea!
What a great idea!
I love it whenever Laura says " I just want to show you....." YES! Show us all the pretty things in your garden!
Agreed! Love the mini-tours!

Russell stole the show ! He is delightful to watch.
Beautiful color choices ....love purples.
Russell is adorable, but where is Cheddar?
@@georgebakker654I wish I could have one of Chedder’s kittens. 🧡 Chedder!
Waiting to see if Chedds is still in the fam . . . . .
@@bettyjrogersI think I saw both of them together in a video from last week. And today I saw a glimpse of Douglas, too.
Russell making his grand entrance! He is soooo cute!!!
You know what would be awesome : some kind of time-lapse video of this area at the end of the season. From seed to plant to flowers and pollinators.
Yes! That would be a great idea. They could even do a montage of monthly pics so we could see this particular spot as it progresses through the year. I’d love that. They could be done as ‘shorts’.

Samantha made me laugh aloud! She’s a superhero 🤣😂🤣 Those bad guys don’t stand a chance.
I absolutely laughed out loud too! She's precious!
Those two areas you planted look great (as does the rest of your garden). I love days where you've had rain overnight and it is still a bit overcast. Never a dull moment at your place between the kids and cats. Russell made me chuckle.
Planting things that feed the birds and the bee's is my garden rule
