I know what I want at least. I missed the boat on mischief and only discovered it at TSS. I'd love another mischief type server but I'd like an adjustment on random loot. I think mobs should drop their normal items just like always but also have a small chance for a bonus random item. That way you can camp something and know you can get what you're after, but also have a small chance to get that item elsewhere. Also I hope they don't give us the same ungodly low exp rate as oakwynd had, but i'm betting thats not gonna change due to potion sale hunger.
Pretty sure on mischief it works like you say? Anyways I am in the same boat and would love to ride the Mischief wave as it sounded super fun in Velious.
I know what I would love to see out of future TLPs, but I also know that DPG will likely never implement a ruleset like that, so I'm probably done after Oakwynd. We had a good run. The community as a whole can't agree on what the 25th anniversary TLP should be, so I agree with you TBC, "we" don't know what we want. What's interesting to me is how over the past X number of TLPs, players have been able to pinpoint things they've liked and want to see again, but also pinpoint things they didn't like, so everyone is trying to craft what their dream server will be. There's no shortage of ideas out there, and I certainly have my own dream server ruleset, but as time goes on and I see how DPG (or possibly, EG7?) are "letting the servers go" with lax rules enforcement and poor responses to game breaking exploits, it's starting to matter less and less to me what the ruleset will be - I'll just stop playing altogether.
Free trader server Raid currency on all expansions so more people will buy the perk and daybreak gets more money Chance of double loot Access to POK at the start and GL,GH Bazaar access Mercs at the start as some people struggle to get groups Mounts in classic How about random mobs in zones? Instead of a TLP what if it was KLP (kill locked progression) You have to beat all raids of the current expansion to get into the next expansion? With this make the raid mobs harder so people wont be able to progress fast
Every expansion should be 3 month unlocks at minimum. I don't have the time nor the desire to make EQ my only hobby. 6-8 weeks is not enough for most people, but I understand too fast for people who only hobby with EQ. I've played every TLP from launch to at least Luclin or PoP since Ragefire. Every time dropping off because the unlocks are too fast and skipping a week or two at a bad time means you're done til the next TLP.
Only thing i want is Relaxed Truebox - It cant be reasonable that i need to run 2-3 machines and waste electricity doing that, when my main machine runs as many accounts as i care to. The cheating boxers are bypassing all these rules anyway,. essentially the Truebox code only hurt the legit players, which was never the intention. Aside from that, im not gonna ask for anything else, i know they will never accommodate their players anyway, they just wanna do whatever they want regardless of what their playerbase wants. My dream TLP: Relaxed Truebox from the get go, Vanilla+Kunark start to enjoy Kunarks leveling zones better, Zerkers and Beastlords enabled right away, PoK enabled with spell vendors that sell all the added QoL spells that was added up to Luclin (Like Paladins early stun line and enchanters breeze etc), Enable the PoK books as well and bring the game and the gamers closer together for a more enjoyable experience, Random Loot system BUT remove the additional loot drops (Mischief was a stupid loot pinata and it just wasnt fun or felt like you earned anything) - Perhaps revisit the /pickzone feature and adjust it a little for all zones Thats it, thats all i want
The other question is have they ever given us what we wanted? I have seen an honest 12 boxer boxing, and live streaming it on Twitch. Crazy busy, but doable.
I think it would be neat if you could queue cross server for different raids or content sort of the way you can or could in WoW. Wow implemented so many concepts from EQ why not borrow a couple of theirs? Mischief was kind of fun and I wish I had stuck around. Although I think it needs tweaked to an extent. It would suck farming something like Quillmane and not getting the cloak for dozens of kills(if that's the way it was done).
As someone who main changed to an Iksar Monk using Vanilla to get the best gear I could without raiding for it... Kunark seemed too short. I don't even think I was max level until the last week or two. I wish we had 4 months between. That being said, thinks I want they won't do would be slower release of expansions and no Kronos until OoW. (I'd also like OoW and DoN separated to experience both) I'd love to play Oakwynd to live, but the dupe just ruined the economy so I am just here... If enough from guild hop to a new TLP, I'd go, or if we can't raid past the new TLP I'll just go play live. Starting it without a guild or enough friends, won't happen for me anyways. Random loot would be fun or free trade. Both would be too much. I'd still like to see more loot drop from rares and raids just in general. Went almost all of luclin and no weapons from curse cycle, our monks and warriors esp been hurting until we started getting the 2hers from Reparm and warriors still struggling except the one guy who got the weapon blood frenzy or whatever it's called. There is also the effect that people are constantly leaving whether tired of the server or content or RL condition causes them to be unable to play anymore and now we have to recruit people who don't have good gear and lost that gear we had for the raid. Just more gear drops would help. It would also cut down on people selling because you'll just get more in guild. Heirloom is amazing though. Every server, even live needs it.
They will "typically" announce the ruleset in April, and then the TLP launches in May. We have seen some variation on this "standard" throughout the years, but that's a rough enough timeline to know what to expect.
Everyone who asked for a pvp TLP has been banned / silenced / ignored, so we are all just playing p99 red or reign of Thule. Most classic players don’t even trust TLP which is so sad. Look up some of the old posts about TLP PVP server.

TLPTYPO: all loot tradeable but you must also trade your pants. Increased pants drop

One of the new tlp servers need to have no carry-over of krono, start off with a fresh economy.

I think if EQ implemented a cross-server raid finder, the community would revolt so hard.

Jog my memory please, is it usually April when they release server rules?
They will "typically" announce the ruleset in April, and then the TLP launches in May. We have seen some variation on this "standard" throughout the years, but that's a rough enough timeline to know what to expect.
A velious or luclin start.
No classic start please.
Free trade or Bust
EZ mischief
The TLP locked servers should switch to free to play after 6mos once the xpacs stop coming.
The cultural around boxing in EQ is the stupidest thing I've seen in gaming. Nothing says loser like playing with yourself 6 times.
bring back CRs :).
