I love Fatal Fury 3. The button combinations to move on stage are crazy, but it adds a madly demanding difficulty I love. The art in that game is the one I love most in the whole series :)
Real Bout 1 is still my favorite. Presentation is spot on for the flavor and the many hidden ways to knock out enemies into background, foreground finishers into the screen, and animation altered pending how far you send them flying in some ringouts showcasing multiple finishes per character in some corners. The mighty conclusion with Geese that would mortally last the longest and change the effects on South Town forever after is not only the most sticking and iconic somehow making it feel strikingly different despite similar circumstances was brilliant. It very much then sends the universe into its grand next stages of Rock Howard, New South Town for the already future set titles to then also have gaps filled in with Garou. The SNK universe is a wonderful deep and fun one that past the surface showed an industry just how deep it could get well before the likes that Mortal Kombat would start to attempt to build. And Real Bout 1 just really nailed the feel of that living universe more than any other 2D sprite fighter that's come to mind since. Great gameplay of FF flavors meets presentation and universe immersion to be capitalized upon like no other. ❤
@@nightmaregeesefan6665 And to think I believe one of the creators felt they were worried about it as they had to rush in some conditions. It so very much doesn't feel rushed. Just so much love and flavor went into it.
Not surprising the real bout games are the street fighter alphas of fatal fury. Beautiful art work, great soundtrack, best version of the plane system, stages are designed very well, roster is great and the gameplay is fast paced and the combo system is the best fatal fury ever had.
@@Shiro128b What's so good about him? How is he better than others? I played it quite recently and I was not interested in it as a 2D part of the series.
The number of comments (73) compared to the number of views (2,356) tells how amazing this series is. I hope the upcoming installment fulfill this hunger and love.
I'm a big fan of all Fatal Fury games, but Fatal Fury Special is still my favourite, Mark of the Wolves is my second favourite. I love the KoF titles as well. SNK games are not beginner friendly, but it's even more satisfying when you know how to play them!
Amazing series. THIS (and NOT Kof) should have always been the SNK benchmark franchise. The only one that could keep up with SF2 at the time. Still waiting for the new Garou confirmation.
Pretty good video, though I want to point out that Dominated Mind's cutscenes were actually done by Masanori Shino, who worked on the Black Lagoon anime series.
When it comes to Fatal Fury games, Fatal Fury Special is my nr.1 as well, and my second favourite is Mark of the Wolves. They're simply amazing titles and they never get old, much like the whole The King of Fighters series. Immortal classics!
It's strange how SNK made the Samsho collection a higher priority than a FF collection in the same style. Nothing against it of course, but its status is a little inferior to FF... both in general gaming history terms and especially in SNK history terms. But hopefully something will happen in the near future. Now there are chances that FF's revival promotes the release of a collection, scheduled to get out before the upcoming FF/Garou.
I'm not a great player but I believe the top 3 Fatal Fury Special Garou Real Bout Special My favorite is Fatal Fury 3 The backgrounds, story and characters really gave you a glimpses of what Southtown was like Especially Hon Fu's stage where you can see the entire city 🥰
The only reason I got into KOF was because of the Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting characters. I actually never cared for the KOF characters until the ash saga (ash, duo, shen and oswald are way too cool). With Fatal Fury being not only my favorite SNK franchise, but fighting game franchise in general, I agree with your list on an objective perspective. However, Fatal Fury 2 and Fatal Fury Special were my first Fatal Fury games, so for me personally, those are #1. I hope SNK can deliver with the new Fatal Fury, let's hope we get a nice update on the game at this year's evo.
Garou is an awesome game and it deserves number one spot. I hope we will see a gameplay or screenshot of the New Garou soon. I used to play first Real Bout game at arcade a lot when i was a kid, i still love it today.
Hi Nabil!!!! Very excited about FINALLY a new Fatal Fury game. But please, hear me out: One concern still lingers, outside the gameplay and references that the new game must possess of the past titles, and that is how SNK treats characters that are not the protagonists in terms of story and also gameplay. When it comes to KOF, it is a little bit understandable, as there is A LOT of characters to fit them all to the main plot, but as a result many of them are "just there". The FF and AOF suffer A LOT in KOF titles, with the lack of character development and also in the gameplay, with nothing cooler and original (bar, of course, Terry and maybe Mai). Now, finally, it's a FATAL FURY title. I don't want only the Terry/Rock duo getting all the development, but also Andy, Joe, Mai... especially if we consider that in the Fatal Fury universe, those 3 were all but absent in GMOTW. So for sure there is no short of possibilities of great narratives and stories that these characters can have when they get to be reintroduced in this new game, which could (WHY NOT!!) reflect in changes to their gameplay with new cooler moves and stuff. I want more stuff added for them in terms of personality, story, and hopefully in gameplay too. Not the only Rock/Terry show, but the EVERYBODY show. Hopefully SNK doesn't fumble the bag and make not only about Rock/Terry, but other important characters like Andy and Joe get to shine and be more interesting and appealing to the public and the players.
I think FF3 needed to be a little higher, and RB2 also a little higher but still below RBS. But overall it's a solid ranking. Anyways this is a franchise where the #1 choice is the most "predictabo" possible.
@@NeoGeoNow Being able to play Dominated Mind at all would be a dream come true for me. It's still the only Fatal Fury game I haven't played yet, besides the Pachinko games that is, but I'm not interested in playing those.
To me FF (and KOF) deserved priority over Samsho for a collection. Just like that Neogeo collection with tons of extras and online mode. Not that Samsho isnt special but it has a little inferior status to FF and KOF.
But there are chances that FF's revival promotes the release of a collection. I could see it strategically scheduled for the year (or some months) before the planned release year of the upcoming FF/Garou. Just to prepare the audience of fans and the casuals and outsiders. A collection with tons of extras and lore explanations would help a lot.
My list: 1. Real Bout Fatal Fury Special 2. Garou: Mark of the Wolf 3. Fatal Fury Special I just need that 3 games for my Fatal Fury definitive experience. Garou MOTW is great, but you need special requirements to unlock the true ending, that's why I prefer Real Bout Fatal Fury Special as my number one Fatal Fury game.
I disagree with the ranking on this list. I do love this series though, and I've played every Fatal Fury game myself. I only wish some of the villains featured in the animes had been turned into playable characters (looking at you Laocorn, Panni, Hauer, and Jamin 😂).
I think the later Real Bout games (RB Special, Dominated Mind, and RB2) are the best representatives of the series. Garou is amazing, but it's closer to KOF and doesn't really feel like FF in my mind. Dominated Mind is so cool, I really wish we got it in the states.
"Wild Ambition" would've been better as a 2001 10th-anniversary arcade title released for 6th-gen consoles and competes against others like 鉄拳TEKKEN 4, Virtua Fighter 4, Dead or Alive 3, Soulcalibur II and Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. It would keep the Fatal Fury franchise relevant making a 3D-era of the series.
