Great reels, I’ve got the ninja 2000 (not LT), 3000 and 4000. Workhorses and good value. Nice review 👍
Great reels I hope this will be as good.
What the difference with the lt and not lt?
The LT is lighter and smaller. Thanks to the LT concept the reels are lighter than previous designs. New Tough Digigear delivers an improved power transmission and an even smoother running compared to previous designs
Great review thanks .Might get myself a 1000lt for my ultralight rod 👍
That’s weird, bought the exact same reel a couple of months back and it had a spare spool with it🤷♂️also, the 18 stands for 2018. Great review and informative video as always
Excellent reels for the money i changed all my drag washers for carbon washers there absolutely awesome, para
Take some beating. I’ve enjoyed using mine so far.
Bought a Penn Battle 3 2500 recently and it's going back to the shop monday. It's such a rough reel already. Really stiff winding even after rinsing post session.
Sorry to hear that. Daiwa and Shimano are smoother and Penn do have the odd problem like that.
Thanks for the review.
Video seems to be already almost 1 year old, so it's good time to ask if you are still using it? And have you found any issues from it? Brake is still smooth and there is nothing loose in the reel?
I've always used Shimano reels and my 12 years old primary trout reel needs a replacement. This might be her inheritor. Currently this Daiwa is ~50€ here, so it sounds more than good price to me if it's durable.
Had no problems at all. Trust Ninjas implicitly. Will be ideal for your 12yr old. Lovely reel.
This reel is a real bang for buck, i use it paired with okuma k1 egi rod for squid fishing and so far i loved every second of it
Great reels
Do you still own it, is it still good?
Yes. I don’t use it all the time as I do many different types of fishing but it’s never let me down
Thanks for the video! what do you think: Daiwa ninja 2000LT vs Shimano Sedona 2500 (same price) for chub and asp fishing?
I use the Diawa so trust it but Shimano make great reels. Can’t go wrong with either.
Can anyone who owns both the old Ninjas and new LT Ninjas tell me if the newer models are any better? I have the old Ninja but am considering adding a new LT to my setup.
LT better than old. Lighter but stronger
What size lt would you recommend for a 10ft abyss x series using as a float rod mainly trout? I'm eyeing uo the 2500 do you think that's too small?
No I would say that would be perfect for Trout on a float rod. I use 3000 size reels on float rods for Mullet and Chub so a 2500 for trout sounds great.
@@TheConstantAngler super fast reply! Thank you! No given direct reply been searching for about 2 hours tonight for an answer 😅 ideal thank you very much ill get the 2500 on order 👍 much appreciated 👍
My pleasure
what ninja 23 size do you think will be great for 5-21g rod fishing for perch and zander maybe pike
4000 or 3000
Would the larger 5000 lt be any good for feeder fishing do you think? The 5000 lt I think is about the same size as a standard 3000.
I would imagine so.
@@TheConstantAngler thanks for the reply. What styles of fishing have you used the 2000 lt for?
Mainly spinning and float fishing
@@TheConstantAnglerwhat gramature was the spinning rod?
Hey Hey! I am looking into this reel and I was wondering if after tour fishing sesion with it, do you recommend it or not? Thanks
Yep. It’s a great little reel. I gave it to my brother and he loves it.
You should make a new video about how was the journey with it. 😊
I just bought mine 18Ninja LT 2000 in pair with Ninja-X Spin 2.7 15-50gr
I hope it will be a nice pair for spinning. What do you think based on your experience?
Should work but I would have gone with the 3000 or 4000 on that rod if throwing lures that size. My niece now owns the reel and it’s still going.
just got mine to paired with daiwa ballistic x 2.4 30-70gr
What size is more ideal for stock lake Trout 1000 or 2000?
I would guess the 1000.
Could you tell what diameter the spool is please? I’m looking for something with a larger diameter spool than a 1000 size Shimano without weighing much more.
I make it about 41.8mm across the top of the spool from rim to rim. Hope that helps sorry took so long
Thanks for taking the time to measure it. Using my unsophisticated measuring devices that makes it about 3mm wider than my 1000 size Shimano Aernos. I’m hoping that the extra width will help casting when using metal jigs with 0.6pe braid. I’ve just spooled the Shimano up with some Sunline Small Game line in 0.4pe but I’ll keep this for Fishing harbour walls and other less snaggy places.
@@Iansea1967 no problem. Should be ideal for small metals. Good luck.
What braid do you recommend for this reel
I have recently been using 10lb Hercules braid from AliExpress. If you don’t want to wait for this then Sunline braid if similar strength is even better. I tried DAIWA Jbraid but really didn’t like it. You could try Kastking Superpower it cheap but reliable.
Nice reel m8
I'm thinking the 18 means 2018 made reel
It does mate.
Is it shallow spool?
warkey27 Travv not a shallow spool like a match reel. But not a massive line capacity. Will put specs in description asap
18 is the year model , that’s 2018 model
Yeh. Realised afterwards. Love the reel. Great but if kit for the money.
18 is a year of manufacturing
18 stands for 2018
I have one of these and I find them excellent.
Great for the money. Mine is still faultless
I think the LT stands for light & tough
Wys G it does. Great little reel for the money.
The Constant Angler I brought one myself along with a ninja match reel. Definitely going to be using it this weekend.👍🏼
Shimano sedona fi hgane gear best price
Great reels. Can’t go wrong with Shimano
Dont look so small.. You thing 2500 model is good for pike?
It’s not what I would pick for Pike. Here in UK I would be going for a 4000 or 5000 depending on the size of fish you are after
@@TheConstantAngler im looking for bass and some time pike... Idk 2500 or 3000... 2-5 kg fish...
It will handle the odd Pike but I would go for 3000
@@TheConstantAngler i neeed to choise from ninja and shimano sahara... Idk which will be better...
@@alexmmh4051 I have one of each and they are both great reels nothing in it. Pick the one you like the look of as they are both excellent. Looks wise it’s the Sahara. They are both smooth poss Sahara smoother
I don't see your 6 month later report,
Afraid I’ve been out of action with tendon probs of the arm haven’t got around to it but had no problems up until I stopped in May.
@@TheConstantAngler sorry to hear your out of action! I’ve just ordered one as they appear to be tough and good value
