    Great reels, I’ve got the ninja 2000 (not LT), 3000 and 4000. Workhorses and good value. Nice review 👍

      What the difference with the lt and not lt?

    • @TheConstantAngler
      @TheConstantAngler  3 роки тому +1

      The LT is lighter and smaller. Thanks to the LT concept the reels are lighter than previous designs. New Tough Digigear delivers an improved power transmission and an even smoother running compared to previous designs

    That’s weird, bought the exact same reel a couple of months back and it had a spare spool with it🤷‍♂️also, the 18 stands for 2018. Great review and informative video as always

    Bought a Penn Battle 3 2500 recently and it's going back to the shop monday. It's such a rough reel already. Really stiff winding even after rinsing post session.

    • @TheConstantAngler
      @TheConstantAngler  Рік тому

      Sorry to hear that. Daiwa and Shimano are smoother and Penn do have the odd problem like that.

    Thanks for the review.
    Video seems to be already almost 1 year old, so it's good time to ask if you are still using it? And have you found any issues from it? Brake is still smooth and there is nothing loose in the reel?
    I've always used Shimano reels and my 12 years old primary trout reel needs a replacement. This might be her inheritor. Currently this Daiwa is ~50€ here, so it sounds more than good price to me if it's durable.

    Thanks for the video! what do you think: Daiwa ninja 2000LT vs Shimano Sedona 2500 (same price) for chub and asp fishing?

    • @TheConstantAngler
      @TheConstantAngler  2 роки тому +1

      I use the Diawa so trust it but Shimano make great reels. Can’t go wrong with either.

    Can anyone who owns both the old Ninjas and new LT Ninjas tell me if the newer models are any better? I have the old Ninja but am considering adding a new LT to my setup.

    What size lt would you recommend for a 10ft abyss x series using as a float rod mainly trout? I'm eyeing uo the 2500 do you think that's too small?

    • @TheConstantAngler
      @TheConstantAngler  2 роки тому +1

      No I would say that would be perfect for Trout on a float rod. I use 3000 size reels on float rods for Mullet and Chub so a 2500 for trout sounds great.

    I just bought mine 18Ninja LT 2000 in pair with Ninja-X Spin 2.7 15-50gr
    I hope it will be a nice pair for spinning. What do you think based on your experience?

    • @TheConstantAngler

      Should work but I would have gone with the 3000 or 4000 on that rod if throwing lures that size. My niece now owns the reel and it’s still going.

  • @Iansea1967

    Could you tell what diameter the spool is please? I’m looking for something with a larger diameter spool than a 1000 size Shimano without weighing much more.

    • @TheConstantAngler
      @TheConstantAngler  3 роки тому +1

      I make it about 41.8mm across the top of the spool from rim to rim. Hope that helps sorry took so long

    • @Iansea1967
      @Iansea1967 3 роки тому

      Thanks for taking the time to measure it. Using my unsophisticated measuring devices that makes it about 3mm wider than my 1000 size Shimano Aernos. I’m hoping that the extra width will help casting when using metal jigs with 0.6pe braid. I’ve just spooled the Shimano up with some Sunline Small Game line in 0.4pe but I’ll keep this for Fishing harbour walls and other less snaggy places.

    What braid do you recommend for this reel

    • @TheConstantAngler
      @TheConstantAngler  3 роки тому +2

      I have recently been using 10lb Hercules braid from AliExpress. If you don’t want to wait for this then Sunline braid if similar strength is even better. I tried DAIWA Jbraid but really didn’t like it. You could try Kastking Superpower it cheap but reliable.
