She suffered so much to give birth to an Avatar, and she never evensaw him until he was much older and rescued her and his father from the prison. The beauty of the transcendental love of mother Devaki as with other personal associates and devotees of the Supreme personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna who is the source of all incarnations, is that they can go to any length to serve Him in any possible way. This is the topmost perfection in yoga according to Bhagwad Gita and other Vedic scriptures, exemplified by great mahatmas and acharyas in their life. The goal of life is to revive this eternal loving relationship with Krishna dormant in the heart of all living entities who are part and parcel of Krishna.

These are two verses taken from the Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 10, Chapter 3 "The Birth of Lord Krishna" Verses 7-8, as translated by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
"mumucur munayo devah
Sumanamsi mudanvitah
Mandam mandam jaladhara
Jagarjur anusagaram
Nisithe tama-udbhute
Jayamane janardane
Devakyam deva-rupinyam
Vishnuh sarva-guha-sayah
Avirasid yatha pracyam
Disindur iva pushkalah"
"The demigods and great saintly persons showered flowers in a joyous mood, and clouds gathered in the sky and very mildly thundered, making sounds like those of the ocean's waves. Then the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vishnu, who is situated in the core of everyone's heart, appeared from the heart of Devaki in the dense darkness of night, like the full moon rising on the eastern horizon, because Devaki was of the same category as Sri Krishna."
