ABOUT THIS FILM

Watch the day-to-day lives of kingfishers
Watch the courtship of the kingfishers, how they lay their eggs and the moment that the kingfisher chicks are first born. Watch the kingfisher chicks being raised by their parents until they fledge. See how it inspired me to produce a painting of a kingfisher.

Damn, Robert's on point. He went from like small time backyard conservationist to groundbreaking conservationist filmmaker capturing breeding habits of diverse species on the best film quality and thus providing us with a window into avian ecology we've literally never had before, at a level that is spoiling us. Way to go man 👏. This guy better have some awards.
Thank you - not to forget that I am first and foremost an artist! There simply are not enough hours in the day!
Dam right ✅ 👌 amigo.....that's a bang on the 💰 comment.....it's folk like this that should get government funding....No all these joke things posing as arts/theatre and recreation or what have you 🙄 proper guy doing proper stuff with nature to conserve it....you articulated it far better there 👍🏻
It's just fantastic!! What he does, now the team too....
Thank you for treasuring God's creatures Robert E Fuller
Qué Dios te bendiga para siempre Señor ❤🙏💙🇬🇧
@@RobertEFuller either as an artist or an ecologist or conservationist, Robert, you're an inspiration. Greetings from across the pond mate, and I hope you and the birds have a great autumn season!

You forgot that Robert Fuller is also a World renowned photographer and painter... 👏
I noticed that in one scene the kingfisher had a band on its right leg. They are keeping close count on these little guys. I know this took a lot of time and patience to get this on film. Thank you so much for giving us a wonderful foray into their world.
Spending time with you is always wonderful...love and kisses to you
They put that "band"/"tracker" on all of there birds.
can you imagine how tiny of a band you need for these birds?!! it's an efficient system to keep track of the all the bird species.

Thank you SO much for creating this insight into the kingfisher’s lives. I used to live in Pocklington, UK, and I was lucky enough to watch kingfishers feeding, almost daily, in the small river that ran underneath my flat. It was magical to see that flash of blue and to see them returning time and again to their favourite ‘lookout’. 🌹
I finally got a chance to look into the world of a bird I have admired for so long. They follow me in the trees as I am going about 30 mph up a major creek on the Arkansas River. I'm 81 and don't go as often but love getting to know more about these beautiful creatures. Thank you so much, Mr. Fuller.
If you live near a body of water, make a shallow pond and stock it with small bait fish for them. Avoid goldfish, they have a compound which too much of will hurt the predators . But guppies or mollies can readily breed a lot in an aquarium and can be added to stock it in warmer weather.
A true bob Ross of our time with your own passion and style. Thank you for this gift!
Incredible amount of work gone into this whole production. Concept, construction and camera work wasn’t wasted on me, amazing as is your other works.
It was so cool to watch the chicks grow up with the help of their parents! Also the painting is absolutely beautiful
I’m a bird watcher and Kingfishers, are my favourites, along with bee eaters and Kookaburras. So much work and very appreciated. ❤️
So am I. And yes, I love the same birds you do. And the rollers
My, those Kingfishers are colorful, attractive birds.
They hit my soul when, young boy interested in nature, I saw such a flyng blue arrows. This footage is like a revealed gift.
Did you purposely write a haiku?
Lost in google translation
@@michaelh9842 lmaoo right 😭😂
@@michaelh9842 It made sense to me.

Imagine how huge and adventurous the world is for a little bird like this. Like imagine the world from their perspective. Crazy
You forgot the part where it’s an animal and doesn’t have the brain power to be adventurous or get “excited” about exploring the world
@@meyr1992 too bad humans have the brain power to induce such low vibrational negativity 🥀
@@meyr1992 imagine being such a cynical bitch that you cant find joy in anything or have an imagination
Ikr! I used to day dream of being a bird when I was child.
With a beak like that, I'd be perpetually worried about poking out an eye.
Watch 17:38. Looks like the bird on the right might have an eye issue from this happening?
True, especially while feeding the chicks
Exactly what I thought as well.
@@CharlieBourgeois_ came to say just that. Missing an eye.
@@CharlieBourgeois_ it certainly wasn't 17.38
Absolutely beautiful. As an aviator I'm inspired by mother nature's aviators. Thank you. 🙏
What great timing...I just spent 2 hours working on a kingfisher in colored pencil and this video came up! Your footage of these gorgeous birds is stunning ! Watching them in their own habitat and being able to see the young grow is such a treat. I love your artwork and want to say a big Thank you for sharing it ! 💗🦉🐤🦅💗
Helloooo DeeJay 🖐😃
Google reads minds. It knows EVERYTHING. 😅
I just love it. Stops me feeling homesick. I remember sing my first kingfisher in Winchester as a kid. I was excited for days and amazed how small and fast it was. That was a privileged as is watching your amazing footage. Thanks heaps! x
SEEING
Spectacular from start to finish! I remain days later, so inspired by the ingenious mock river bank, stunning photography of the birds & the colourful wildlife painting!
A masterpiece!
Mr Fuller,
Absolutely awesome work studying and filming this beautiful creature. The fabulous painting was an unexpected bonus.
Ditto. 😃
Mm
Real eyes Realize m
Its kinda cool how we can make these nests for the birds. Its like a trade off, we make the nests for them to live in it, and we learn how they raise their babies, and just how they live day to day. Its really amazing to see this side of birds.
this guy is underrated
Such a tremendous "live art" work. Appreciate your devotion, Robert!👍
Wow this whole video is incredible. I've never seen a Kingfisher. You went at great lengths for these beautiful birds.
A really nice sanctuary you built for them. And a Nice painting at the end of the kingfisher you did a really good job.
The painting and the artificial bank are art. Nice job.
At first I thought that's a great video which could only be better with educational comment, after watching it for 10 minutes I realized it's also really nice without endless talking and just the sounds of nature. Thank you for your work
I filmed this in nest in 2017 I will hopefully be filming kingfisher’s again this year and will explain what’s happening but I also love natural sounds
Stunning footage!! SOOOOOOO glad you built the Kingfisher nesting place!! You're the only one I've ever seen ANY video's of Kingfisher or Swans!!! Thank you Robert!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing this activity or story about nature’s beauty, I know I would never see this ever again !
Hi just curious why you said you would never see this ever again?
amazing work on both counts. A pleasure to watch them and you at work. Thank you for allowing us into your space.
I watched this masterpiece of a video when it first aired but it keeps showing in my recommended so I happily watch it again and again. You forget the small quirks of these little birds. Absolutely beautiful.
Robert, my daughter and I love watching King Fishers in our country The Philippines. Thanks for this work, we truly enjoyed it!
All your works are indeed inspiring to capture a lively painting of a kingfisher; and hopefully kids will have the chance to see a wonderful nature like this.
Fabulous work on all counts, so amazing to see the tiny kingfishers in the nest, I've only ever seen them in the wild just whizzing past as a flash of blue! Beautiful painting in the end to boot!
Absolutely incredible. Thank you for a labour of love.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This guy is cool 😎.. his love for nature is amazing.. but the scenes regarding how the wildlife reacts around their tiny space is incredible.. Amazing footage.. crisp and detailed..
Amazing . Robert you’re doing fantastic work
Great work. Seen complete life cycle of Kingfisher bird in one video.
Greeting from New Delhi, India.
Thanks for watching
Thank you for your hard work. It's more than anyone deserves.
That’s why I stopped watching. I deemed myself unworthy.
I couldn't help noticing how they seemed to shudder after they ate the squirmy minnows, as if it tickled their stomach. Such beautiful birds and your painting and ingenuity in building the home for them was fantastic!
Amazing loved it all. The fake river bank was absolutely incredible, and your painting was great too.
The time and patience! Thanks for sharing👏
Vibrant little birds!!
Thank you for sharing this video Robert. This was an AMAZING video. Your hard work and genius at cinematography and technology is outstanding.
Absolutely charming and therapeutic. Thank you Robert.
This is a great video and I've only ever seen a kingfisher ones. Such beautiful animals
It is so nice to take video of the nest.
This is a very precious record of kingfisher life
The Kingfisher is definitely one of my favorite birds in the world they're just so gorgeous in every way how they live how they hunt how they take care of their children they're really amazing thank you for this video I haven't even watched it yet but I'm going to
How incredible these Kingfishers are!! Thank you so much for sharing them. And their ‘chorus’ was fantastic!!
They're so beautiful and their colours are so vibrant
Yes the painting is lovely. Thank you for the window into their world.
Absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing both of your passions!
Blessings from Philadelphia, USA. Just stunning and very calming to watch. I have been playing your videos Tony 4 year old who loves them now. Amen.
It is amazing to see the size of those seven eggs in relation to the mom, the quantity of protein she needed to intake. If she had laid only one every two days, it is still staggering!
It looks like only four survived? Do you think some of the eggs just didn’t hatch?
Also, I didn’t see video of the first successful feeding. The first time she tried to feed them, the fish was too big. I’m guessing she hacked it up with her beak and fed the chicks with broken up bits of fish?
I thought that birds ate it themselves and then regurgitated it into the chicks’ mouths.
This bloke is amazing and talented! Thanks so much for this content...😄
The most amazing film of kingfishers I've ever seen. An incredible amount of time and work. Well done 👍
Amazing film, such patience you have Robert, well done, you were rewarded with a beautiful family of Kingfishers, thank you so much for sharing this incredible footage and your painting captures this stunning bird so perfectly, you’re very talented xx
Beautiful painting and amazing video. Thank you for doing the work so that we could reap the benefits of watching and learning.
What beautiful birds. So incredible to see this footage! Thank you for this experience.❤
Very educational video! Learning the way kingfishers raise their young and maintain each generation takes a lot of patience. Along with the beautiful artwork at the end of the video, this is now my favorite channel! Thank you. 😊
I love this video, has to be viewing no 7 for me. I seen my first sighting of a perching kingfisher aged 55 and have never forgotten the affect it had on me. The rainbow surely gave this bird all her beautiful hues.
First time I'm seeing this very nice . I love King Fisher. Thanks brother

Congratulations for such a scientific and artistic reportage!!!!
I love this video of your most wonderful kingfishers, quite amazing, thank you very much Robert for your commitment, patience, passion, love for wildlife. I have had the great pleasure to watch kingfishers locally in York, for years and many happy hours watching them. Wonderful memories of them but to watch them in the nest is so special. Kingfishers are one of my favorite birds. The rattling sound and the Mohawk like hair.
Wow man!! So much patience, hardwork and beautiful result 😇
Such a small moma bird gives big fish to baby bird’s big mouth. Incredible. Wonderful nature with Kong’s fisher. Thank You
Did anyone notice that the bird smack fish's head to the branche before eating so that the fish die. How beautiful.
dang that sounds cruel
@Evil Einstein its beautiful because the fish doesnt suffer then, it just gets clocked on the head and dies rather than getting eaten alive

Superb... beautiful, magnificent !!! A sheer labour of love. The painting is gorgeous too... 👏👏👏👌🏽💯❤️
lol.the one parent sitting on the babies.that was funny and cute.
When I was young, we had a pair nest behind our house. The chicks would occasionally fall out of the nest and everytime I wound notice one on the ground, I would rush to my dad so that he could put it back into the nest area.

Such an amazing effort made .. Thanx Fuller . God bless you
7 eggs laid, whilst 1st egg hatched, there were only 6, when there were 4 "kids", those other 2 eggs were gone, did parents dispose the other 3 egges?
wondering as well.
if the other eggs dont hatch or if they are broken or cracked the parents usually end up eating that egg/eggs
@@loonymarlin3272 Probably you are right. And I think video should show what happened to those 3 eggs.
Unhatched eggs are usually eaten or taken out and disposed of. They can become magnets for predators that could then kill the ones that did hatch
This bird won't need fishing rods..at minute 10:30 I see this bird wearing a ring on his foot. he's a married bird & that was his lucky ring. He didn't miss a dive.🐟🤣 Robert you've got a beautiful talent..👏
Awesome, thank you! Your painting also incredible x
What a lovely paining of the Kingfisher. You appear very dedicated to your work. May you continue to enjoy more breeding Kingfisher's in the home you built for them!

Beautiful! What a challenge it is for those new chicks to eat what is brought to them.

6:50 did that baby actually eat that fish? Holy crap.
What else do you expecting ? Drink milk for six months then move to solid food?
@@karsam7751 he was probably just expecting the bird to tear the fish into smaller pieces as is customary in many species...
@@Laudrengen its only customary in raptors
@@karsam7751 Smaller fish?
I was expecting the mom to eat, then regurgitate the fish into their mouths as many other bird species have. So that day old baby eating a full minnow scared me. 🤣
