These videos -- bushcraft, wood splitting, property management -- are a joy. The time it takes to produce one must be an order of magnitude (or two!) greater than what a fitness video requires, so thanks for taking the time. They are appreciated.
It definitely takes about five times longer than a fitness video but it is cool to have a time capsule remembrance of the process. They definitely don’t get as many views and it hurts my algorithm, but there are videos that I want to make so it is important to me. I really appreciate you watching them!
@@BrianAlsruheOfficial have you considered making another channel just for you bush craft videos? maybe do that and let us know about it so we can watch them there, that way your algorithm wont get hurt on the main channel
I've done something like this by a big up turned stump, but I used landscaping plastic, twist ties and a staple gun. Lol. I drilled a few screws in though because the roof beams wiggled. I love how many flat stones you have in the area, they make great frying pans.
Absolutely brother, and I have a couple set up for cooking right now. I just need to make sure they are dry because they came out of the river dead and I don’t want them exploding on me
Brian i think it would be awesome if you did a collab with Juji Mufu again, but this time take him out to the woods for some bushcrafting and caveman workouts. Lol i think it would be hilarious watching you two build a shelter and rough it together.
I don't even know how you had the vision to know where to start, this is truly impressive! Putting up the second portion of tarp was really cool, too, very clever. The place looks amazing and the fireplace is beautiful!
I’ll be honest, I am really glad how the tarp turned out because I went into it pretty blind just hoping it was going to work out. I was so thankful when It did!
it's truly impressive that you were able to make such a nice shelter just using materials from the forest (and a few tarps). And that fireplace is absolutely beautiful. Well done Brian!
Super nice, functional muscle POWER! Enjoyed every minute of the video especially the rock fitting, I do that a lot and it's always like putting together a puzzle.
@@BrianAlsruheOfficial absolutely dude. I live on the east coast as well it's so lovely seeing the audio transition from cicadas to crickets. Autumn has been too kind this year.
When you live in the wilderness, those are kind of a constant so you get more used to them. But I’m not gonna lie, you still think about it all the time
You make me want to go out and do this! I miss nature. This reminds me of when I use to spend hours in the woods in VA building forts when I was a kid. Very peaceful.
I’ve been meaning to ask you why you draw knife the bark off of some things? Do you want the bark or does it help the wood last longer or something? Awesome video👊🏻 that’s an amazing build👏🏻
Because bark is where bugs and rot typically live. That said, once I strip that first one and realized how long it was going to take for all of them, I ditched that plan really quick haha I was realizing how long this build was going to take on its own
Cool, I had seen you do it before and yeah it definitely seemed like a ton of work lol I figured it was for more than aesthetics. Thanks for the reply, hope you’re having fun and feeling well
Did you draw this all out first or just go with the flow? It's amazing craftsmanship set in perfect location. Will have to show to my kids so they know what a real den looks like!
I scouted the location and had an idea in my head. It turned out about 85% what I had in there. But a lot had to be kind of winged and then figured out when I got half way through
Most guys take their wife or girlfriend on dates, but not Brian he builds the place to take his wife. Every guy watching this we all need to take notes.
This is my favorite bushcraft video I have made to date. I hope You will like like it as well!
you are a very lucky person brian, living the real dream life!
Love the stone fire place 🔥 Rushing water in the distance, a great get away spot
Brian, "LIVING LARGE" Brother!! Awesome!
Absolutely awesome Bro. Pure Serenity.

Well I have a new project now... be badass like Brian. Won't get anywhere close but I'm gonna try!
Haha I appreciate that brother but I think most people can surpass me by far!
What kinda mushroom are those!? And another level of manliness unlocked sir. 🙌
I wish I knew, the entire place is covered with mushrooms so I need to have some forging expert come out and teach me some stuff!
Walking around like a weirdo was my favorite… also, that’s a well sharpened ax!!
Well done!
Be strong and courageous!
Thanks man, I really appreciate you checking it out!

Nice...haven't built a bushcraft camp but I love going out on trail and doing native camping.
Nature is the way man, no matter how you spend time in it. Thanks for watching the video brother
Very Nice! Love the Bushcraft vids. It looks like a great get-away!
I truly appreciate you watching them Michael! Each one is a ton of work so I truly appreciate every single view!
I would love to know how to do all that. I am proud of this video. Bravo 👏🏽
Honestly dude, I’m pretty much winging it and just hoping it works out!
The formatting is perfect. So peaceful and relaxing. That shelter is the coziest thing ever. Awesome job!
Thank you so much my friend!
Dude this is so good! Amazing shelter! I'm inspired, think I'm gonna look at getting my own plot of land so I can do stuff like this too.
You definitely won’t regret it and thank you so much for the kind words brother!
So grateful to you for these videos.
I’m so grateful that you watch them! I really mean that

It definitely is Alex, it turned out better than I expected!
That's awesome man
Thank you so much!
my biggest concern would be snakes and insects in the shelter, but its looking absolutely gorgeous!

See natural stone carry’s are a functional lift…I’ve been telling everybody
Haha it’s true! I can attest!
I am wondering if the fire closer to the shelter would provide you extra nighttime warmth.
It is within a foot of being directly under the plastic tarp. I didn’t want to risk melting it by bringing it any closer than that
Good shit man
Thank you so much for checking it out!
Ever had a sasquatch encounter Brian?
No. I wish I did though!!
@@BrianAlsruheOfficial 😆😆
Wonderful creation, sir. Thank you for the video.
Thank you so much for watching it!
This is super amazing, wish I had something like that in my area #living in the city sucks xd
Thanks so much man! And yep, you literally cannot pay me to live in a city
Dude this is beautiful!
I love your bushcrafting content so much.
I need to get out to the woods asap.

Thank you for checking it out my friend
I used to give my kids grief about spending hours watching other people play video games on UA-cam. Now I get it.
Haha it is definitely calming to watch
I find it a bit concerning that throughout this whole video I did not hear not one “fuck!” “Shit!!” “Cmon you son of a bitch!”
Lol but I loved it too
The beauty of editing mark haha
Lol one of us one of us
I have read this common multiple times in the last three days and I still don’t understand it. Am I missing something?
@@BrianAlsruheOfficial I only know your strength training videos - didn't know you were into preparedness / bushcraft.

The first night that I finished the fireplace, we went down and had dinner next to it. It was pretty cool
