Probably they quarreled, other than that, there is no way Capcom not make a DC 3 like DC 2 with Regina coming back to save Dylan, then shit happens (to extend the game). It would sell billions and make the fanbase happy.

I last saw this sequence four years ago when i completed the PS2 game while on a caravan break in rainy Berwick Upon Tweed... Most Kickass PS1 game I've ever played. And that's saying something.
Damn it....I want more Regina and Dylan. And I want more of this universe. I personally Dino Crisis was the only good quality Dinosaur games released. Primal Carnage comes close but that's multiplayer. This franchise is underrated and never got it's due. It deserves another entry. There's still so much to work with. And with next gen tech, it's possible. Capcom just have to look back to their roots.

Regina did come back. If she didn't come back to get him, Dylan would've died, and Future Dylan (who spoke to Dylan not long before the game ends via hologram or whatever) wouldn't have existed.

i had more damn fun playing this game back in 2000 than playing any game atm in 2011, the story was epic and action in game was incredible, one of best games i played on PS1.
Everyone, thumb this shit up. Dylan and Paula survived, Regina got through, somehow built the gate and saved them. If you paid attention, you'd had noticed that Dylan was talking to his future self earlier in the game. How would that have been possible if he never got out alive? And Paula is obviously his daughter. Dino Stalker kinda helps prove this since Paula is alive in that game, and that's a quasi-direct sequel to DC2. Still, a TRUE sequel to this game is still needed.
Well, on Gun Survivor 3, they show an hologram of Dylan on 2010, that explains that Regina manages to save Dylan and Paula, and on the same game, Paula controls a time machine that can be used by a computer everytime they want to, so thats probably the one that Regina used.
@Serandi Isn't it obvious, Regina used the 3rd Data Disc and returned back to the present, promising to save them after they build another time gate. The time did not stop, as you can see, when the block was about to crush Dylan and Paula at the last second, the building exploded. After another time gate is built, she will go back time and save them.
i think she came back right after she's gone to teleport dylan says use the 3rd energy to make the perfect teleport and pick him up, so probably she's finally done it and go back to that time and save him cuz we've seen the future dylan before fighting giganoto, i believe regina saved him..
+Jêsûs Christus in Dino Stalker there is some device the future Dylan used to the protagonist that transported him in another time... who knows maybe that's what Regina did.
personal my favourite game the ending was really touching sad and strong, compare to the others capcom games, they need to bring back this game seriously

Just beat the game consecutively 3 times. On the results screen, there is a different epilogue pic every time he beat the game; one for Dylan, Regina, then Paula. How you wish to input your interpretation, will be entirely up to you.
There is a little bit of hope right now. With Capcom remaking all those legendary games from the ps1 like re2 and re3, there is a big chance that they remake the dino crisis saga and close this open ending, and maybe continue the story. Time can only tell, but now Dylan and us are waiting for Regina and Capcom to come back.
regina promised that when she got back to her time, she will learn about the energy to build the perfect time gate and come back to save dylan & paula before they die.. i think this is a quite good start for Capcom to make Dino Crisis 3 story..
Dylan told regina to build perfect time gate and back to take them in last time. Tthis is the gate to push story go further. When I was playing DC2 first time, at the ending i was crying. Seriously. And when i'm watching this each time i'm sad about Dylan's and Paula's death. Will Regina built that gate? Will she back and pick up Dylan and Paula. Maybe again some accident will be? Maybe someone don't want Regina, Dylan and Paula to go back. For me this is one of the best ending in games ever.

If anyone is wondering, Dino Stalker is a spin-off, but also the sequel to Dino Crisis 2. It didn’t show it, but Regina did came back and save those two, otherwise they wouldn’t be in the game in the first place. If you just watch the entire cutscene, you’ll get the idea. The reason why people now are still wondering about this cliffhanger is because Dino Stalker was a bad game, so it went under everyone’s radar.

I wish capcom would return to their origins and please a more mature audience with games such as this with complex and powerful stories... Nowadays we only have those lame FPS games whose audience are mostly conformed by kids who can only care about graphics and leveling up or something like that. Bring back Dino Crisis and you will get back the fans you’ve lost, capcom. The originals.

This game is intense... specially the light gun gameplay parts and the cutscenes... the end is a freaking cliffhanger I want Moar MOAR MOAR. The first one is kinda scary, there's not much cutscenes (maybe, because I only got to the part when Tom died) I hope this series gets a proper reboot and sequel

I know, but to end of the game, when they return home, because of the whole tampering with third energy AGAIN, they return to their home in the correct age, but find it now infested with Dinosaurs!
Yeah I was like 12 when I played this game...I was so sad afterwards when they died. I kept hoping they would make a sequel so we would find out what happened to them, but then they made god awful Dino Crisis 3 and we never really found out.

It's 2020 which is 14 years after this video and Dylan was never saved ;(. A cliffhanger that will never be fixed and Regina never returned.
