Hi Steve and Wendy Sorry to hear you have been poorly Steve, hope you feel better soon. We have been at Los Llanos campsite near Dénia for weeks now. I fell over last night and had to go to hospital by ambulance. The Spanish health system is superb and I had every kind of test, didn’t get back to the site till 03.30 though. Once I had supplied my passport and EHIC details there was no mention of money. Be interesting to see what happens next year. Paul
Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you are OK! Next year you'll probably need health / travel insurance. I've been recommended some health insurance here in Spain to cover everything including existing issues for about €80 a month each. Some of the ExPat web sites are pushing the same sort of thing for €260 a month!!! Of course they _could_ keep the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) system in place
@@TheHappyTravellers Hi Steve Yes, lets hope they keep the EHIC system going, maybe they will. I worked for various departments of the NHS until I retired a couple of years ago and there would never be any charge for treatment. I'm sure EU governments would want to keep the system going, time will tell. Paul
Not sure where you got the idea it was food poisoning? My Gallbladder is / has been badly infected so a long coarse of antibiotics needed before gallbladder removal operation.
Sorry to hear about your troubles. I used to get terrible stomach pains, totally cut wheat from my diet and no problems since. You may have diverticulitis which can also be painful.
Sorry you are feeling so I’ll Steve. You were in the right place by the sounds of it. Take care both of you and thanks for taking this time to let us all know. God bless.
Hello Steve and Wendy, sorry to hear that you've been unwell. I've had similar instances, so I totally understand how you are feeling. Love and light to you both, get well fella. Warmest regards. Paul.
Hi Steve, my sister in-law had the same trouble and had her gallbladder removed and she's totally fine now. It always happens to the loveliest people. My love and best wishes are with you dear friend. Kind regards. Paul.
Hi both, so sorry Steve to hear you have been so poorly, what a terrible time you have had. Sounds like the Doctor has taken good care of you. I hope you feel a lot better by tomorrow. Wendy looks very concerned bless her, she will take care of you Steve. Rest up now xx
Oh no....hope you’re feeling much better already, must be a little bit scary being in so much pain when abroad but you coped well, you do both look tired, hope you can get some quality r&r and no more taking chances with your food. Have a happy relaxing day x
When I had pains like that it was actually gall stones. Another time it was a stomach ulcer. I still have to be careful with wheat and dairy. But in both cases it wasn’t anything to do with intolerance. The stomach ulcer was found by camera and it was cured by really strong antibiotics. With the gall stones, l had to have my gall bladder out. In both cases the pain were excruciating. Not trying to worry you, just giving you some alternative ideas for the cause of your pain. Hope you feel better soon.
You are spot on Bernadette, infected gallbladder and bile duct. Hospital for over a week on IV Antibiotics and now on a course of antibiotics by tablet. I'll be having the operation to remove the gallbladder too.
Agree with the diverticulitis/diverticulosis comment, same symptoms, same pain, fever, comes on intermittently sometimes months or years apart for no apparent reason. Following diagnosis (investigation of colon) told to stick to high fibre diet which made it worse. Now stay away from fibre and has not occurred for over 3 years! Good luck.

Well, after more than a week in hospital I am felling a little better. More medical procedures to come though and a recovery period too before I can call my self fit again.
Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell again Steve. Glad you got the care you needed from the Spanish healthcare. From what you say a high temperature and excruciating pain suggests could be gall stones (am not in any way medically qualified) and I only say this as your symptoms sound very similar to my Dad’s before he had his gall bladder removed. Wishing you a speedy recovery, love to Wendy who is your “nightingale’ and little Pippin who I can hear in the background probably oblivious to his Dad’s dilemma. Take care of yourselves. x
You are spot on with that diagnosis Maria. They could not find gall stones BUT all of my blood tests said gall stones. Anyway, I'm due to have my GallBladder removed at some point.
The Happy Travellers Hi Steve, that’s good news you’ve got a diagnosis and your body can live quite happily without the gall bladder. My Dad didn’t have gall stones either but he made a good recovery and his symptoms cleared up so the op wasn’t just a lucky guess. He changed his diet and kept off the fats as he found out he felt sick if he ate anything like bought fish and chips, (apparently it’s quite common). Well I am glad to hear you’re OK, love to Wendy and Pippin. xx

Had a sneaky feeling it something like that Steve, ive had digestjve probs for many years. Gallbladder, bile duct removed. Bowel resection done due diverticular perforation, hiatus hernia and umbilical hernia repair. Think thats it 😂. You will have to watch your fat and alcohol intake Steve but you will be right as ninepence in a few months time. Take it easy for now mate, thinking of you both. Much love, Daz & Pam x
Thats what the blood tests indicated, Ultrasound AND MRI could not find them. It was a cause of great confusion. Anyway, I've had a very badly infected gallbladder and bile duct almost affecting my liver. Need to have it removed soon.

Hope you feel better after a long sleep 😴- I wouldn’t listen too much to unquantified advice as it will only serve to make you more anxious. Stomach bugs come and go ! - Subject to your own tolerance levels I would always recommend adding 1/2 an orange 🍊 and honey to your diet in the mornings - - Chris x👍♥️😇💐🌹
It's been an infested gallbladder which will need removing. Good idea on the Orange and Honey :)
The Happy Travellers - oh sorry 😐 to hear this professional diagnosis Steve ! - Get well soon. ♥️😇💐🌹

If you are sick headaches, bad leg, bad stomach, rashes try one month as a vegan and see what happens
Veganism is not my thing. I know quite a bit about it from family members who've been vegan for years. Not for me...
@@TheHappyTravellers If you only knew what went into Fray Bentos pies

Hey Steve, sounds like it's time to get a gastrocopy done to see what's gojng on in your stomach.
So many tests! It's gallbladder so they intend to remove it.
Ha ha, must be the drugs Steve. She was Swedish from Denmark. Get well soon.
LOL, yes...
Sounds like gall stones.
Thats what the blood tests indicated, Ultrasound AND MRI could not find them. It was a cause of great confusion. Anyway, I've had a very badly infected gallbladder and bile duct almost affecting my liver. Need to have it removed soon.
