I honestly don't get it. Tosin is great in this. Clearly a very capable actor. What the hell was going on with Ryan in Doctor Who? The most wooden, lifeless companion in the show's history. Again, clearly Tosin is a good actor. So why is Ryan so bland? Bad direction? Bad writing? I can't understand how a man who could pull off a performance like in this short film would willingly give a performance like Ryan without being explicitly told to play it that way. What a waste of his talent.
