Funny you should say that. It happened to me first time I got up to 6400 feet AGL 1200 feet ground take off. Got towed up to 2000 ft. in my hang glider and got my first big thermal. At 5400ft. I started getting cold. This was in AZ in April. I couldn't wait to get down and it was hard to get down too. Dang it!!!! LOL
I love that little light trike setup. So much better than a Mosquito Harness. Not that I've tried one yet. I get towed up in my hang glider and seek out thermals here in AZ. I've been at 6400ft AGL in April and got really cold. No sweater or gloves. Just tshirt. LOL
Nice flight.... I took 4 days of hg training at Lookout Mountain Flight Park in Ga ...just hill training and had bought a used NW ATF about a week earlier.... never finished my hg training nor ever got any training for the ATF.... it still sits under the carport along with 2 used Pacific Airwave Mark IV's hg's still in their shipping crate.... I am currently experiencing both knee pains issues.... I guess getting too old for the hg's... back in 2016 when I was foot launch H2 training at LMFP on my 4th day my feet were absolutely killing me.. both have had fractures in the past doing other activities around the house.... so arthritis is probably what was causing the foot pains?... but maybe the trike will satisfy me if I can get some training for it soon at Skycycles in Tennessee..... I told Mike Theeke at Skycycles the previous owner told me "oh about 5 minutes training and I would be good" and he asked me was I planning on growing old? Lol... yeah, I seen some spiraling dives of trikes on UA-cam that would definitely get you into trouble without proper training..... 👐

Hello there What trike model name / wing combo is that? Also what engine brand? I’m on the market for a trike Haven’t made my mind Nice video Hope you can help
Yes, the ATF has a hand throttle right below the seat that stays at a constant position and a spring loaded throttle on the steering bar. I don't like the foot throttle because trying to steer and control the throttle at the same time is difficult. So I moved the foot throttle to a hand lever on the control bar. I am used to that because used to own a JetWing trike years ago.
@@williadYT I'm thinking of doing the same on my trike. Hands are a lot better at fine motor movements than the foot. I picked up a "Dia-Compe Tech 99 318 OS lever" bicycle break lever that will fit the 1.25/31.8mm diameter base tube on the Falcon Tandem I'm flying. I just haven't got the cable run to the splitter yet. Looks like a great idea to me.
Great video, I am waiting for my ATF with a Minari 200cc to arrive from Northwing. After soaring engine off, how much warm up time does the engine need before you can climb again under power? Also looking for a instructor in so cal. Thanks Ken
what's the verdict on these light soaring trike? can you really soar with it? would you get one again? is it comfortable or does it swing around a lot?
I flew hang gliders for 15 years, mainly X-country soaring and now approaching retirement, so am seriously considering a soaring Nano Trike. Just wondering if you came from a hang glider back ground? Love your video!
David s. I too am an ageing x hangie. Flying trikes the last 10 years . The Nw atf i own has the polini thor 250 solairus wing. I can tell you nothing ive flown is more durable . Just as close i can be to hang gliding without having a driver jumping off cliffs and useing legs for landing gear. What a fun flying machine the atf is. I get more airtime than i did before. And can still turn off the engine and thermal and ridgelift respectively. You would not reget it . Iam suprised more aging hangies dont get into an atf.
@@whisperingeagle thanks, exactly the type of rig and flying that I plan when I retire soon. We have a few Nano soaring trikes local, and just waiting for one to come up for sale. I used to compete in X-country hang gliding comps here in Australia, so I understand that on a thermal day, turbulence normally means lift, so turn towards that lifting wing!!
THANKS 😊 FOR SHARING GREAT VIDEO. MY FAVORITE SAYING IS: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEW IN THE WORLD IS FROM CLOUD BASE ☁️ NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE! THE LAPS RATE IS 5 TO 6 DEGREES/ 1000 FT OF ALTITUDE GAIN ON A GOOD DAY. I USED TO FLY MY FLEDGLING 2B HANGGLIDER WITH INSULATED HARNESS LONG -JOHN'S AND MITTENS! ALL OF MY FLY WAS BEFORE GOPROS DAMMIT 🤨
Hey likewize stopped flying hang gliders in around 93 . But for the last 8 years ive been flying elsa trikes. But now iam hooked back in to my soaring trike NW atf with polini thor 250 water cooled. Great climb out . Great xc. Thermalling and ridgelift e/o . Just a no hassle fun way to fly. You wont regret it.
Shorts and a T-shirt, the guaranteed way to reach colder altitudes. Good flight.

Awesome video. The ATF is really fun to fly.
Nice video Deane! Nothing like flying around just under base. :)
So true!
thanks for sharing. cool vid! :)
Hello there
What trike model name / wing combo is that? Also what engine brand? I’m on the market for a trike
Haven’t made my mind
Nice video
Hope you can help
What the name of this trike? I live in central Texas and it’s perfect spot to fly around in hill country
Is it north wing atf trike?
Nice flying 👍
I'll finish watching when my eardrum stops bleeding
Do you have dual throttles, or just the hand throttle on the base tube? Do you like the hand throttle more than the foot throttle?

The bomb-cool
I think my trike would be too heavy to soar like that. Pretty Cool!
Bom voo só na térmica muito bom
Nice way to cool off on a hot day.
Hi Gary, You gave me my first HG rating many years ago!
Where did you get the throttle control for the base tube ?
I've been trying to find one .
Thanks for the videos.
I made it
what's the verdict on these light soaring trike? can you really soar with it? would you get one again? is it comfortable or does it swing around a lot?
I have a Skycycle on a 225 Falcon 😎
Hey tommy give me a cl
@@whisperingeagle I'm on FB messenger
Well done..
Nice flight
Cheers
Great for when foot launch is no good.
Mantap bos
I HATE when that Happens hahahahaha no place like ABOVE cloud base...
want to Bring me this kit to Sri Lanka . Can you help? How much does it cost? Please help me
I did not notice any flight instruments. How you figure out your altitude? Secondly, price?
My Brauniger instrument is strapped to my leg with Velcro paragliding mount.
How much does one cost? Thanks
Hi brother how to make this fly engine specification
Is there an option to fly there if you buy one? Used to live in Fall Mountain.
You can fly from any public airport and many private ones.

No music next time or it didn't happen. Lol
What wing do you use?
Just the Northwing Stratus (original with the squared tips).
@@williadYT OK cheers thanks I use a topless Moyes Lightspeed with beefed up rigging wires
