Realistic AM FM Stereo Mate

This fine Radio Shack product goes back to 1987. It's the model 13-131 AM-FM Stereo Mate! This radio offers a special feature of individual left and right volume controls. Primarily designed for personal use, it offers a 'built-in' speaker for group listening.

Got one of those as a teenager, followed me around for a couple of decades before it got misplaced in a cross-country move. Sounds just like I remember. 😁

I think the reason for the FM mono option is that more distant stations will tune in better without the fuller stereo bandwidth.

I think some of the old radios made a screaming sound trying to receive a weak stereo station, so the mono switch stopped that
