- The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) is hosting the commemoration event of 44 mineworkers who died during the 2012 Lonmin platinum strike. 34 of those workers were shot dead by police at the koppie in Marikana on the 16th of August. This year parts of the commemoration will be held virtually.
